Lorrequer Kharyder Breeder: Linda Hawkyard A fairly moderate dog with nice shoulders, good balance and lovely type. Not as free moving as my first place dog. Karob Parmenides at Elea Breeders: Robert & Karen Frost 3rd Ch. Khamsin s Burak el Marrakech Breeders: Susan Konopa, James Petru and B.&K. Miller Black grizzle with a classic head good balance of back skull to foreface. Very sound coming and going with effortless, cadenced side gait. Smooth bodied with correct fill and good spring of rib. I loved this dog s classic old type, very smooth and balanced. A bit loose in the topline compared to my secondplace dog, but on another day could have won the class. His best attribute was the little kisses he offered me! Acted as though he would rather be on the couch, than in the ring! Ch. Sandstorm Song of the Phoenix Breeder: Kathleen M. Morton Petite deer grizzle with a lovely head, deep muzzle. Great underline with correct fill in front, good coming and going with pretty side gait. 2nd Lorrequer Kalarya Breeder: Linda Hawkyard Loved this bitch s classic English type. Good balance to head, very smooth bodied with correctly set in shoulders. Didn t want to show as well as my first-place bitch, but she could easily switch places on another day. 4th Ch. Unmistakably Windstorm Breeders: Randy & Starr White The most refined bitch of the group, but sound coming and going with good bladed bone. Shoulder blades not as flat/laid back as her competition. Best Breeders Sweeps Ch. Sandstorm Song of the Phoenix 3rd Ch. Khamsins Bedawi el Marrakech Breeders: Susan Konopa, James Petru and B.&K. Miller I immediately liked this bitch. Very balanced grizzle smooth with a pretty head and expression. Sound coming and going, her front was not quite as well set as the first two bitches, but I am being picky here! The choice was a difficult one, as both dog and bitch were deserving of the nod. Though completely different in breed type, they were very similar in their faults and virtues. Both were very sound with good heads and lovely side gait light and effortless. The male wanted to pull his head up and back to look at his handler, which tightened his shoulders a bit and broke his topline behind the shoulder blade. The quality of many was great. I enjoyed the conditions they were shown in, the way they were shown and also the people who showed them. We who have Salukis are blessed with the enormous responsibility of giving them the care they need to make them the best companions we may have. Life will never see me without one as I cross the threshold of my home, what a wonderful picture!! I am sure you all agree with me continue the quality of our breed and the caring we have put into breeding and having the best breed there is.
