5 INFORMATION ON GROOMING AREAS PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!!! There will be one Grooming Area specifically dedicated for ALL crating and grooming, occupying over 180,000 square feet. This will be the only location where grooming will be permitted. This year there are three specific types of grooming areas. The Assigned Grooming area for those with four or more dogs entered: Advanced reservation required: See information below. The Open Grooming area with shared power available. The Non-Powered area for those who do not require electric. EX-PENS IN THE GROOMING HALL READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY!!!! We will be allowing private Ex-Pens inside in specific areas on a trial basis this year. There are sections for Expens on each end of the Non-Powered aisles. Each Assigned space will have space across from their area for private Ex-pens. Every pen must have plastic covering on the floor with paper or shavings placed on top of the plastic. Any pen without plastic under the pen will be taken down. There will be large containers for properly bagged refuse. No mats on the floor at any time in ANY Ex-pens. Drop pens permitted with proper material/shavings underneath. All waste from your ex-pen must be bagged and sealed and placed in the designated rolling carts stationed around the hall. If you re not sure where they are ASK. Anyone caught placing waste in any public container placed around the hall will be subject to an event hearing. ANYONE CAUGHT DISPOSING OF EX-PEN WASTE IN ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE ROLLING CARTS STATIONED AROUND THE HALL WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN EVENT HEARING. ALL WASTE PLACED IN THESE CONTAINERS MUST BE BAGGED AND SEALED. Each exhibitor is responsible to place all waste in the specific containers stationed in the grooming hall. Any pens not kept clean or properly maintained will be subject to removal by the grounds committee. Harry s staff will determine the number of ex-pens and drop pens any one exhibitor or handler can erect. If needed: Plastic and shavings will be available at a nominal cost. Contact Harry Miller in advance or on arrival if you need either ALL EX-PENS WILL BE CLOSELY MONITORED FOR CLEANLINESS AT ALL TIMES Anyone who fails to maintain proper housekeeping will have their pens removed and places all other exhibitors at risk for losing this special option made available to us by the facility. The Grooming Area will be overseen by Harry Miller and the Kiarry Site Control Staff. Please reach out to Harry s staff if any problems or issues arise. Only his staff will have contact with the facility if needed. No exhibitors are authorized to make requests of the facility and could be held responsible for any costs related to a request that is not approved by Harry s staff. Look for the men in the Orange Jackets! Assigned Spaces For those with four or more entries that have secured an assigned 80 square foot space (8 x10 ) which can be set up to your personal specifications. There will be a special check-in desk staffed by Harry Miller and the Kiarry Site Control Staff where your assigned space number will be confirmed. Please note: The cutoff date for these assigned spaces is November 16, 2016 or when the available assigned limit is reached, whichever comes first. None are available on site. Open Grooming This area will strictly follow a set grid for Crates/Tables/Aisles without exception. This is a requirement to maintain access for exhibitor and spectators in this area. Complimentary shared electric outlets will be placed throughout this area and no one person may claim exclusive use of this service. The Open Grooming areas will be arranged in Rows & Aisles to facilitate exhibitor space and ensuring a safe and smooth operation of the event. These areas are under strict enforcement of the Fire Marshals Regulations. Non-Powered Grooming The Non-Powered Grooming areas will be arranged in Rows & Aisles to facilitate exhibitor space. This area is not designed for extra crate space, but for those who have no need for electric during the events. No electric lines can cross over into this section. This can cause a trip hazard and will be monitored by Harry Miller and the Kiarry Site Control Staff. If you find you need use of electric, you move to the power, don't move the power to you! These areas are under strict enforcement of the Fire Marshals Regulations. ALL CRATES AND TACK UNITS MUST BE STACKED IN THE OPEN & NON-POWERED GROOMING AREAS 5

6 Junior Showmanship Only There is a reserved section located close to the Junior judging rings on Saturday and the section may be removed after Juniors Judging on Saturday. Only dogs ENTERED FOR JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP will be permitted in this section. Juniors traveling with family members or Guardians with other dogs should secure space in the grooming hall. No other exhibitors or handlers will be allowed to set up in this section. This section is exclusive to Juniors with their Juniors dog only. Parents and Guardians with other entries will not be allowed in this section. NO DOGS MAY BE KEPT OVERNIGHT IN THIS SECTION There will be no saving of space under any circumstance. No floor rugs are permitted. Grooming Tables in excess of 24x36 will be regulated by Harry Miller and Kiarry Site Control. No soft-sided crates allowed in the grooming area. Any containment equipment (dollies or stroller type carts) used for small dogs must be kept in the crate or table designated space. Not in the aisles. By entering this show, the exhibitors & Handlers agree to follow all directions of the assistants charged with arranging & maintaining safe & orderly conditions in the Grooming Area. The grooming areas have 2,000 watt electric outlets approximately every 30 feet which are available to all exhibitors as shared usage. Please take every precaution not to overload these outlets with high heat dryers. Electric at an event is closely monitored by the building Fire Marshall and anyone that attempts to overload the outlets puts the entire event at risk. Any unsafe practices will cause that outlet to be removed from service. We will re-set an outlet once. If you cause it to blow a second time it will be pulled from service for the remainder of the event(s). These outlets are meant for single dryer use ONLY. You will have the option to secure an outlet with more wattage at your own expense. Please take care to have any cords in use off the floor and/or firmly secured to prevent any trip hazards. Those who want to secure exclusive use of an outlet may do so on-site by contacting Harry Miller. The cost for a 2,000 watt outlet is $ for the duration of the events. PLEASE DO NOT OVERLOAD ANY OUTLET UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. USDA INTERNATIONAL HEALTH CERTIFICATES Those exhibitors from outside the USA who require a USDA International Health Certificate for your return travel; there is a procedure to secure proper documentation from the show Veterinarian. You must check in as early as possible to be briefed on the process. Your return travel should be made for very late Monday night. 7 THE SHOW RINGS Please note: Some rings may be expanded for certain breeds on certain days. We plan to have All Toy and Terrier Breeds scheduled in one area. There are ready ring areas taped off in yellow at each ring for the dogs about to be shown. THIS AREA IS RESTRICTED TO ONLY DOGS WAITING FOR THEIR RING TIME OR POSSIBLY WAITING IF A CLASS HAS BEEN DIVIDED. Special Limited Crate Areas for staging when your breed is being judged will be the blue taped areas near the rings. The Fire Marshall will not allow crates or tables to block any aisles in case of an emergency. This will be strictly enforced. Do not attempt to bring crates or tables for any breeds in advance of 30 minutes before scheduled judging. These areas are just for holding dogs ringside, NOT FOR FULL GROOMING. All allowable equipment must be removed within 15 minutes of the conclusion of your breed judging. PARKING We were able to secure a reduced rate of $10.00 per car each day. 9 Unless otherwise indicated, the following prizes are offered by the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club through the generosity of friends. SWEEPSTAKES/VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES REQUIREMENTS HANDLER: The handler of a Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes exhibit must be either the owner, co-owner, breeder or member of their immediate family as they are listed on file with the American Kennel Club as of the closing date for the show for which the Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes entry is being made. Immediate family is defined as husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter or legal domestic partner. Step children and legal wards are also included in this definition. In-laws and grandchildren are not considered to be immediate family members. No other individual may take the entry into the ring during judging or check-in. The following individuals are excluded from showing an exhibit in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes unless they are the sole owner registered with the AKC or co-own the entry with a member of their immediate family (as defined above) or a legal domestic partner: Any individual listed as an agent on any dog in any regular or non-regular class at this or any other show in the previous two years. Any individual with an Agent number including, but not limited to an AKC Registered Handler Number or Professional Handlers Association (PHA) number. To avoid confusion or question, it is recommended that a photocopy of the registration certificate be included with the entry for a co-owned exhibit. Disabled or physically challenged handlers are encouraged to show their own dogs and every effort will be made to accommodate them. Some things which might be done to assist them are: making sure the ring gate opening is wide enough for a wheel chair; making sure the surface is as level and smooth as possible; placing slower handlers at the end of the line or having them gait their dogs together; allowing someone else to push an exhibitor s wheelchair, providing they do not handle the dog; making sure stewards and judges face a handler who is hearing impaired when speaking to them; permitting the use of crutches or canes. BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES/VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES: It is required that the same person who showed the dog to a first place in a Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes class will also show the dog in the Best in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes class. However, if that person should have more than one dog in the Best in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes class, someone else is permitted to show the additional winner. That person should meet the handler definitions above. Only in cases where there is not another owner, co-owner, breeder, co-breeder or immediate family member available, should another person take the dog into the Best in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes class. It is understood that there would be no financial benefit to that individual. Individuals who have an AKC Handler number, a PHA number or are listed as agent on any dog in the regular or non-regular classes may not show a Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes entrant unless they are the sole owner registered with the AKC or co-own the entry with a member of their immediate family (as defined above) or a legal domestic partner.
