10 CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF SHOWMANSHIP - HOGS POINTS OF CONSIDERATION exhibitor can show animal without struggle or assistance. exhibitor pays close attention to the judge and quickly follows his directions.. b. exhibitor possesses and can correctly use small brush, and show stick. A whip may be used by older members who have been trained to use it correctly..use of hurdle is objectionable unless"hogs fight. c. exhibitor keeps hog moving at a slow walk except when judge indicates a desire to stop it for' closer inspection. d. exhibitor maintains hog in open area about feet from judge, never in crowded area within a few feet of judge. e. exhibitor keeps hog in clear view of judge at all times. f. exhibitor keeps hog between himself and judge. g. exhibitor sho\o!scourtesy to other exhibitors by never blocking them or their hogs from judges view. This may mean exhibitor has to walk behind other exhibitors, and let hog continue on his course. h. exhibitors should close gates behind them if asked to pen their hogs, or remove hogs from pens. i. exhibitor should never touch hog with hands. j. exhibitor should use show stick by tapping hog beside head and back legs. A hog should never be hit on hams or loin.
