The requirements are identical to the regular Total Dog requirements, except that the conformation qualifier must come from the altered conformation classes. All dogs must be designated as entering the Altered Total Dog competition upon submission of entry into the altered conformation class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday October 28,

3 JUDGING ASSIGNMENTS Conformation All Licensed Classes, including Licensed Altered Classes, will be offered for all recognized eligible breeds in the following groups: Guardian Dog, Scenthound, Sighthound & Pariah Dog, Gun Dog, Northern Breed, Herding, Terrier and Companion Dog. Group and Best in Multi-Breed Show Judges will be made public immediately prior to the start of judging for these classes. Order of Judging: When feasible, judging of breeds will be alphabetical within each group. Group judging to commence immediately following all breed judging in that group, or at the discretion of the Event Committee. Agility, Nosework, Obedience and Rally Obedience Order of classes and trials are at the Event Committees discretion. For example, Agility may be judged in this order: AG1 T1, AG1 T2, AG2 T1, AG2 T2, AG3 T1, AG3 T2. Agility, Nosework, Obedience and Rally Obedience have entry limits and no wait lists will be established. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC, have a Temporary Listing (TL) number, or have a Performance Listing/Limited Privilege (PL/LP) number. Litter registered dogs are not eligible to enter licensed classes. Dogs must be permanently registered. Dogs must meet the registration criteria by the closing date and time in order to pre-enter. No exceptions will be made. Entries for ineligible dogs will be returned if identified. For Day of Show entries, dogs must be permanently registered, have a (TL) or (PL/LP) number before the Day of Show entry deadline date and time. 2. Dogs must meet the eligibility requirements for the event which they are entering. For requirements, refer to the appropriate event rules and regulations. 3. An un-entered dog may be substituted for an entered dog in Obedience, Rally Obedience, Agility and Drag Racing only. Please see the CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY policy in this premium list for details. ENTRY INFORMATION, FEES and TIME Total Dog is offered on Friday, October 28, See page 5 of this Premium List for complete details. Pre-Entries open August 8, Pre-Entry Fee $20 first entry. $15 each additional entry (same day, same dog, same performace event) made at the same time. All Conformation entries $20. Additional entry made at a later time will be charged first entry fee. No charge for Non-licensed classes and Junior Showmanship. Pre-Entry Specials $75 same dog entered in any 6 shows/trials (Lure Coursing not included) $15 for any additional entry of same dog over 6 entries. 2. Pre-Entry Closing Date: Pre-Entries entries will be accepted at United Kennel Club until Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. NO Pre-Entries will be accepted or processed by UKC 3 after that time. Entries received after the Pre-Entry deadline date will be held and will be charged Day of Show fees. NO EXCEPTIONS. 3. DAY OF SHOW. 1. Entry Fee: $25 first entry, $20 each additional entry (same day, same dog, same performance event) made at the same time. 2. All Conformation entries $ Day-of-Show Entry Times. Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 7-8 a.m. Drag Racing Entries will be accepted until 12 noon. (Applies to Drag Racing only, No Exceptions. Aptitude entries will be taken at the track) 4. For Lure Coursing. See United Greyhound Club event listing, found on Page 8 in this Premium, for Entry and meet times. Junior Showmanship: no charge. PLEASE NOTE: Performance Events Pre-Entries or Day of Show entries will close in accordance with the information above OR when the numerical limit for the event has been reached (whichever comes first), after which time entries shall not be accepted, cancelled or altered (except as noted in the refund section of this Premium List.) No wait lists will be established. No exceptions will be made. Entries received after that time will not be accepted. 5. Each dog must be entered on a separate entry form. 6. No entries will be accepted if conditions are placed upon its acceptance. (No Conditional Entries). 7. Any entry missing required information, fees or any faxed entry missing authorization for UKC to use a credit card for entry fees will not be processed nor counted as received until required information, fees, or authorization is obtained. SUBMITTING ENTRIES Gateway Nationals entries may be submitted on the Official Gateway Nationals UKC Entry form included with this Premium List or on any current official UKC entry form ( pdf/fo1fbl.pdf). Photocopies of these forms may be used. Entries may be submitted online on the UKC official website: starting on August 8, Click on the Gateway Nationals logo. Mailed Entries must include all fees. Any

4 mailed entries received prior to August 8, 2016 or without all fees will not be accepted or considered received. Credit Card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder s name and address must be included on the entry form. A faxed entry must be received in UKC s office by the closing date and time of pre-entries and must be fully legible and complete in order for it to be accepted. Faxed entries will not be accepted after the closing date and time based on a Transmission OK message in the possession of the owner; no exceptions. Faxed entries received after the closing date and time of pre-entries will be charged the Day-of-Show entry fee. No exceptions. Entries may be hand-delivered to the United Kennel Club office at 100 E Kilgore Rd, Kalamazoo MI PAYMENT FOR ENTRIES 1. Payment (pre-entry and day of show) must be made by cash, check, money order, or Credit Card. No entry will be accepted without full payment. 2. Make checks and money orders payable to United Kennel Club Checks and money orders must be payable in U.S. funds. 3. When paying by credit card, entry must include the card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder s name, address, daytime phone, and signature. Fax numbers and addresses should be included, when applicable. 4. Post-dated checks, returned checks and declined credit or debit cards do not constitute valid entry fees. UKC will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check or money order. Exhibitors who repeatedly submit invalid entry fees may be put on a CASH ONLY basis. ENTRY CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS 1. Entry cancellations MUST be received in writing prior to the closing of Pre-Entries or, in the case of performance events, prior to the numerical limit for the event has been reached, and MUST include the dog s UKC number, breed and name. No cancellations will be accepted over the phone. 2. No refunds will be given for invalid entries and dogs found to have been entered in the incorrect class after the class has been judged. 3. No refund of entry fees will be made for entries cancelled after the Pre-Entry deadline, except in the cases of bitches that come into season and are entered in Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience and/or Drag Race events or, in the case of performance events, after the numerical limit for the event has been reached. In those cases, refunds may be obtained by providing the superintendent with a veterinarian s certificate verifying that the bitch came into season after the closing date. The certificate may be mailed, provided the postmark is no later than the date prior to the day of the trial, or delivered by hand to the UKC Superintendent personnel before the start of the trial(s). 4. Cancelled entries submitted before the close of entries will be charged a $12 processing fee for each entry/class being cancelled. No entries will be refunded after the closing date and time or after entry limits have been reached. 5. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Event Committee. 6. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries before processing. If a duplicate entry is processed, however, no refund will be given. 7. Entry overpayments will not be refunded. 8. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the host organization it is impossible to open or to complete a show or trial, no refund of entry fee will be made. 9. If, in the opinion of the host club, the well-being of dogs, exhibitors or spectators is at risk due to extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to rain/thunderstorms, tornados, snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, or extreme heat, the host club may cancel or stop a show or trial before completion. No refunds will be made in such cases. ENTRY CONFIRMATION, ARMBANDS AND JUDGING PROGRAM 1. Receipt of online entry will be acknowledged within 3 business days, but this does not constitute acceptance or confirmation of an acceptable entry. 2. ed confirmation of entries will be sent to the address included on the entry form as soon as possible after the entry has been accepted and processed. Please verify the classes/events your dog is entered into when receiving this of processed entry. If there are any errors, please contact UKC Show Operations Department at gateway@ukcdogs.com or immediately. 3. One armband will be assigned to each dog for all shows/trials in which the dog is entered for the weekend. Armbands will not be mailed but will be available for pick up at the event site from the superintendents table. Entry confirmation information will be printed on the back of the armband. Please verify the classes/events your dog is entered into upon picking your armband up. Should there be any errors please see the superintendent at the event immediately. All entry errors must be corrected prior to the start of judging. 4. A duplicate set of armbands will be available at the superintendent s desk. CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information and any errors on the entry forms. There will be no refunds for invalid entries. Dogs that, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a title after the closing of entries, may be moved-up from the entered class to another class for which the dog is now eligible. Requests for a move-up must be made in writing to UKC no later than one-half hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show. All other corrections to entries must be made in writing to the Event Secretary no later than one-half hour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show. SUBSTITUITIONS Dogs entered into Agility, Drag Racing, Nosework, Obedience or Rally Obedience may be substituted if the entered dog is unable to remain entered. Substitutions will only be made for the same event type and class(es) in which the original dog was entered. The substituted dog does not have to be entered into all of the classes as the original dog, however no refund will be given for classes not being substituted. (For example if the original dog was entered into AGI A for all 6 agility trials, the substituted dog may only be entered into the AGI A class for up to all six agility trials.) All substitutions must be submitted in writing with an entry change form and newly completed entry form prior to the close of Day of Show entries on the day in which the substitution will be taking effect. Three Trials Offered. One trial each day: Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 28 entries per day. No wait list will be established. 3. All licensed classes offered. RALLY OBEDIENCE TRIALS (Indoor, Great Hall) 1. Three Trials Offered. One trial each day: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries limited to 64 entries per day. No wait list will be established. 3. All licensed classes offered. DRAG RACES (Outdoor) 1. Six Races offered. Two races on Friday, two Saturday and two Sunday (2nd race Aptitude only). 2. No entry limit. 3. All Flat Racing and Steeplechase Classes offered. NOSEWORK TRIALS (Outdoor) 1. Six Trials offered. One Pre-trial offered on Friday and Saturday; two element trials offered each day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 2. Entry Limit. Entries will be limited to 125 entries per day. No wait 5 list will be established. 3. Classes offered: a. Friday: T1 Pre Trial (N-E), IE Container (N-E); T2 IE Container (N-E) b. Sunday: T1 IE Vehicle (N-A); T2 IE Vehicle (N-A) CONFORMATION & PERFORMANCE TOTAL DOG AWARD To be eligible for a Total Dog award a dog must: On Friday, October 28, 2016, win in conformation with competition and on the same day earn a qualifying score in a qualifying performance event. Total Dog Hunting Title Bye-In! With special permission from the United Kennel Club, dogs that have earned a hunting title in any hunting event recognized by UKC on or before September 28, 2016, can enter the UKC Gateway Nationals as eligible for Total Dog. All dogs must be designated as entering Total Dog upon submission of entry into the conformation class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday, October 28, Altered Total Dog Award! With special permission from the United Kennel Club, altered dogs are eligible to compete for an Altered Total Dog Award AT THIS EVENT ONLY! The requirements are identical to the regular Total Dog requirements except that the conformation qualifier must come from the altered conformation classes. CAOM and GAOM will be counted if applicable. All dogs must be designated as entering the Altered Total Dog competition upon submission of entry into the altered conformation class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday, October 28, Conformation requirements Win one of the following classes: Best Male/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of Winners, Champion, Grand Champion, Best of Breed, Group 1 through 4 (Note: Group 4 win only counts if there are five or more breeds in the Group class.), Best In Show, Best In Multi-Breed Show, Reserve Best In Show, or Reserve Best In Multi- Breed Show; with special permission from the United Kennel Club the following addition to the existing Total Dog Rules regarding conformation competition requirements for the Champion and Grand Champion classes shall apply solely on Friday, October 28, a. Champion Classes. The following will be granted a competition win: 1. Champion Competition win with 2 or more dogs in competition. 2. Reserve Champion win with 3 or more dogs in competition. 3. Champion Award of Merit (CAOM) shall count toward competition win when computing a total dog qualifier. The number of Champion Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as follows: 5-9 dogs in competition 1 CAOM dogs in competition 2 CAOM dogs in competition 3 CAOM dogs in competition 4 CAOM dogs in competition 5 CAOM dogs in competition 6 CAOM dogs in competition 7 CAOM b. Grand Champion Classes. Grand Award of Merits (GAOM) shall count towards competition when computing a total dog qualifier. The number of Grand Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculated as follows: 3-4 dogs in competition 1 GAOM 5-9 dogs in competition 2 GAOM dogs in competition 3 GAOM dogs in competition 4 GAOM dogs in competition 5 GAOM dogs in competition 6 GAOM dogs in competition 7 GAOM dogs in competition 8 GAOM

6 Qualifying Performance Event Requirements: A qualifying score must be earned in any of the following; agility trial, obedience trial, rally obedience trial, drag race (Aptitude class not eligible for Total Dog), nosework (pre-trial not eligible for Total Dog) lure coursing (regular stakes only) on Friday, October 28, *Those participating in the regular stakes in lure coursing must use the appropriate Total Dog form provided by UKC. Dogs who meet the above requirements will automatically receive a special Total Dog award. Total Dog Qualifiers Parade (including Altered), Total Junior Participants Parade and Announcement of Qualifiers, Total Dog Groups, Total Dog Best In Multi-Breed Show Competition and the Altered Total Dog Best in Multi-Breed Show Competition. On Saturday, October 29, 2016, just after Saturday s Gateway National Best In Multi-Breed Show competition, the following will take place (consult the Judging Program for changes in procedure, time or location): 1. A parade of Total Junior participants and qualifiers (dog and handler teams) report for the parade of Total Juniors and the announcement of Total Junior Qualifiers. 2. A parade of all Total Dog qualifiers (including Altered) for special recognition of competition. All Total Dog Qualifiers (dog AND handlers teams) report for the parade of Total Dog Qualifiers. 3. Next, all Total Dog qualifiers will immediately compete in Total Dog Groups. The Total Dog Groups are the standard eight group designations. Each dog that qualifies will compete in the group that its breed belongs to. There will be NO ALTERED TOTAL DOG GROUP COMPETITION. 4. Then, the Total Dog Group One winners will proceed to the judging of the Gateway Nationals Total Dog Best In Multi-Breed Show competition. A 2016 Gateway Nationals Total Dog Best In Multi- Breed Show and 2016 Gateway Nationals Total Dog Reserve Best In Multi-Breed Show winners will be selected. 5. Lastly, the competition of Altered Total Dog qualifiers will compete for a 2016 Gateway Nationals Altered Total Dog Best In Multi- Breed Show and 2016 Gateway Nationals Altered Total Dog Reserve Best in Multi-Breed Show. TOTAL JUNIOR AWARD - CONFORMATION & PERFORMANCE To be eligible for a Total Junior award a junior must: 1. Compete in a UKC Junior Showmanship Licensed class and earn a 1st-4th placement with competition, or an Award of Merit. Licensed classes include Novice Junior, Novice Senior, Open Junior and Open Senior. 2. Award of Merit for UKC Junior Showmanship classes will be calculated as follows: *Award of Merit will only be given if the individual class meets these requirements. 6 Junior Handlers in competition 1 AOM 9 Junior Handlers in competition 2 AOM 12 Junior Handlers in competition 3 AOM 15 Junior Handlers in competition 4 AOM 18 Junior Handlers in competition 5 AOM 21 Junior Handlers in competition 6 AOM 24 Junior Handlers in competition 7 AOM 27 Junior Handlers in competition 8 AOM 30 Junior Handlers in competition 9 AOM 33 Junior Handlers in competition 10 AOM 3. The Junior must also earn a qualifying score in any one performance event on the same day the conformation requirement was earned. Qualifying performance events are Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Drag Race (Aptitude class not eligible for Total Junior), Nosework (Pre-Trial classes not eligible for Total Dog) or Lure Coursing (regular stakes only). 4. Juniors who meet these requirements will automatically receive a special Total Junior award. SCHEDULING CONFLICTS FOR DOGS COMPETING IN MULTIPLE EVENTS 1. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the scheduled time. 2. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who have dogs entered in multiple events, but judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised to notify stewards in all rings affected by the conflict so that judges may more easily work around any conflicts. 3. If a performance exhibitor misses a scheduled judging time, the judge has the discretion to allow that exhibitor to run at the end of the class when possible or mark the dog absent. All event location times are Central Time. 3. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate an orderly traffic flow through the unloading areas and in the parking areas. Vehicles are allowed a 15 minute unloading time-frame. Violators will be towed. 4. Empty grooming space may not be saved. Grooming space is on a first come, first served basis. 5. No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the grooming room floor. No tents or non-grooming tables are allowed in the grooming area. 6. There will be absolutely NO SMOKING OR VAPING in any buildings. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. 7. NO powdering or other grooming products used to alter or enhance a dog s coat or color are allowed. 8. Overnight parking for R.V. s and camping registration available. For camping information, see the Camping Reservation form in this Premium List. EXHIBITOR AND GENERAL INFORMATION 1. All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United Kennel Club, Inc. By entering these shows/trials, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of the event(s) in which they have entered. 2. UKC, its agents and its employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by spectators or by exhibitors and handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. UKC is not responsible for loss, accidents or theft. 3. UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the least amount of grooming necessary to enable a Judge to properly compare each dog with the standard of its breed. Dogs should be clean, with nails cut to a length suitable for the dog to perform the work for which it was bred, and with clean teeth. The Judge s determination that this rule has been violated shall be final. UKC enforces rules against artificially altering pigment and coat color, coat texture, and surgical alterations as outlined in the UKC Rules and Regulations. 4. THE OWNER OR DESIGNATED HANDLER of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The host organization, event committee, and superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system, or stewards or runners for the purpose of locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. 5. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging do not need to remain in attendance. 6. Please remember to turn off cell phones and/or pagers before entering rings. 7. No un-entered dogs allowed on the event grounds with the exception of dogs with cancelled entries or substitutions. Note: no dogs less than 8 weeks of age may be present on the grounds of a 6

7 UKC Licensed event. 8. Dogs are not to be left unattended when crated in soft mesh crates, in an unlatched crate or on a grooming table. 9. Except when being judged or when crated, dogs must be kept on a leash being held by a handler. 10. Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean up after their own dogs. Any person witnessing a violation of this rule must report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee may ask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. No refund will be made if an exhibitor is asked to leave the grounds. 11. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds or in the buildings on the day of a UKC Licensed event. 12. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In that case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. 13. UKC will vigorously support any facility that files a complaint about exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to clean up after them. In order that the bad conduct of a few exhibitors does not spoil it for the majority of responsible exhibitors, UKC will take strong disciplinary action against any offenders. 14. All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit the event are vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons and animal on the event grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. Dogs may be entered prior to passing, but must pass the pre-trial prior to competing that day. If the dog has passed on ORT in the applicable odor please submit a copy of proof. 2. Individual element classes are divided into Levels N - E and further divided into A and B sections depending on the experience of the dog and/or handler.
