Sunday, April 30, 11 am - 2 pm Heritage Poultry: Legacy and Creativity, presented by Joseph Marquette, poultry historian, owner of Yellow House Farm in Barrington NH and member of the Society for the Preservation of Poultry Antiquities. Meet the Animals Special Program for Kids Monday, April 24 through Thursday, April 27, 9-10 am Led by a heritage animal breeder and educator this program, presented for an hour before the animal tent opens to the public each day, is designed to give children age 4 to 8 (all ages admitted) an opportunity to meet the baby lambs, kids, chicks and other animals, up close. Participants will learn about milking, feed the animals and create a fiber craft gift to take home. Ticket includes a breakfast snack and all-day admission to the Baby Animals event. Tickets are $25 per child (must be accompanied by a responsible adult, at no additional cost). Program is limited to 12 children per day. Strawbery Banke is delighted to bring the heritage breeds of animals back to the Puddle Dock neighborhood where many of them would have been familiar sights during the past three centuries, said Lawrence J. Yerdon, museum president and CEO. The first Baby Animals event last year was so popular, we decided to add a few more breeds of animals and expand the interactive program so children can understand how these animals contributed to daily life, even though they can t touch the animals because of safety concerns. To learn more about planning a trip to New Hampshire, go to Bow Wow Bedford 2017 On Saturday, April 22 from 10am - 4pm the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire will be hosting their annual Bow Wow Bedford event. The event will provide a low-cost rabies clinic and microchipping at the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101 in Bedford. With the significant concern of reuniting lost pets with their owners, the League holds this event each spring and strongly encourages pet owners to take advantage of this easily accessible and very affordable clinic. The event also includes annual dog licensing for the towns of Bedford and Goffstown. Supporting this year s rabies clinic will be staff and veterinarians of Daniel Webster Animal Hospital. Microchipping for dogs and cats is available by appointment only between 10am -3pm. The walk-in rabies clinic is 11am-3pm and vaccines are $10. A one year vaccine will be issued unless proof of a current rabies vaccine is provided, which will allow for a three-year vaccine. Check-in closes at 2:30pm. To schedule your appointment or for questions please call Maureen Prendergast at This is your one stop shopping for microchipping, rabies vaccinations, and dog licensing! All dogs attending the event should be on lead and cats waiting for their vaccine should be in a crate for their safety. The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps thousands of pets each year. To help people who love their pets, but are currently struggling to care for them, The League offers community programs, such as a pet food pantry and low-cost spay/neuter clinics, as well as animal cruelty investigations. The League receives no state or federal funding, and is almost entirely dependent upon fundraising events and donations to support their work, but there are many more ways to help.
