This seminar is a great opportunity for prospective Beardie judges as well as anyone who would like to learn the finer points of our breed standard, judging our wonderful breed, AND want to put your knowledge into practice through hands on experience, please come and join us. There will also be ringside mentoring by BCCA mentors during class dog and bitch judging, as well as Best of Breed. The cost of the seminar is $30 per person and includes a copy of the BCCA Illustrated Standard. The showing of unconfirmed champions in Best of Breed Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. ONLY Undefeated dogs are eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Grand Champion Competition: The following categories of dogs are entered in this competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. Champions that win Non Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed competition. (Altered or spayed CH Veteran Class winners at independent specialties are eligible.) Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Grand Champion competition. At the judge s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to, Best of Breed or Variety Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed or Variety, Select Dog and Select Bitch. Grand Champion competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed competition Non-Regular Classes Involving Single Dog Entries Veteran Dogs, 7 yrs. & under 10 yrs. Veteran Bitches, 7 yrs. & under 10 yrs. Veteran Dogs, 10 yrs. & under 12 yrs. Veteran Bitches, 10 yrs. & under 12 yrs. Veteran Dogs, 12 yrs. & under 14 yrs. Veteran Bitches, 12 yrs. & under 14 yrs. Veteran Dogs, 14 yrs. & older Veteran Bitches, 14 yrs. & older For dogs and bitches seven years of age and older. In accordance with Chapter 11, Section 8, veteran dogs and bitches may be spayed or neutered at specialty shows. All winners of Veteran Classes, if otherwise undefeated, are eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Performance Dogs Performance Bitches For dogs and bitches, 6 months of age and over, that have earned at least one title in any AKC Companion or Performance Event (Agility, Herding, Obedience, Rally or Tracking.) Dogs entered in these classes must not have been neutered or spayed. By winning these classes, the dog and bitch are eligible to compete for Best of Breed provided they have not been defeated in any other class. Sexually Altered Dog Sexually Altered Bitches For dogs & bitches, six months of age or over, that have been neutered or spayed. The dog & bitch winning these classes are not eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries Note: As the judges decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Brace Class is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by having won this class. Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dogs and two (2) of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of get. 7 Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered individually in one of the Regular Classes, Performance Classes or Best of Breed Competition. Brood Bitch Class: Same as Stud Dog, except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for get. Brace Class: Two dogs of the same breed/variety, regardless of sex, and must have at least one common owner and presented by a maximum of two handlers. The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at time of entry. If a dog that is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class Only. In making entries for Brace Class Only, full particulars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes, Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be so designated, Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. If entered online an MUST be sent to dogshows@barayevents.com identifying the Brace or Braces. POINTS AWARDED FOR RESERVE The Bearded Collie Club of America will award at its National Specialty a three-point major to Reserve Winners Dog if the Regular Class Dog entry is twice the required number for a five-point major in the division where the National Specialty is held. The Bearded Collie Club of America will award at its National Specialty a three-point major to Reserve Winners Bitch if the Regular Class Bitch entry is twice the required number for a five- point major in the division where the National Specialty is held. CRUFTS QUALIFYING Winners of Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Select Dog and Bitch, Awards of Merit and Best Bredby Exhibitor are qualified to enter the 2019 and 2020 Crufts Dog Shows. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP NOVICE CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on front and back of entry form. NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Showmanship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show, the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies. 8 PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES This Sweepstakes is open to all Bearded Collies who on the day of the show will be at least six (6) months of age and under 20 months of age. Champions of Record may be entered in Sweepstakes. Indicate Sweepstakes and Age Division on the regular entry form under Additional Classes. Puppy Sweepstakes Classifications The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Puppy 6 Mos. & Under 9 Mos. 9 OBEDIENCE & RALLY TRIALS Include Jump Height on Entry Form for Classes Requiring Jumps. Judging will be in Ascending Height Order beginning at 4 Dog refers to either sex. Qualifying Score Required for All Awards in Regular, Preferred and/or Optional Titling Classes. A refund will be given to any exhibitor who has a bitch entered in the obedience trial or rally trial that comes into season after the close of entries. To receive a refund, the superintendent must be notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in each trial. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian s protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. 12 OBEDIENCE AND RALLY C MATCH To help you and your dog get ready for the National Obedience and Rally Trials, there will be a C Match on Monday, October 1st, starting at 4 p.m. and go no later than 7 p.m., depending on need. It is open to dogs that are entered in the trials the following day. There will be two rings, one for obedience and one for rally; these will be the same two rings used for the trial. A sign up sheet will be at each ring, beginning at 3:30 p.m. the day of the match. CASH ONLY Rally $5 for a five-minute session all levels for rally courses will be available. Obedience $10 for a ten-minute session Beginner Novice, Novice, Open and Utility will be available. Equipment for all levels of Rally and Beginner Novice, Novice, Open and Utility will be available. 15 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ALL EVENTS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and nonregular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent.
