The following breeds are sanctioned by ADGA and the intended order of the show is as listed: Recorded Grade, Toggenberg, Saanen, Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf, Oberhasli, Alpine, Lamancha. Animals without ADGA-recognized registration papers may not be shown. An AOP division will be implemented if on the date entries are due we do not have enough to sanction breeds. The order of the show IS subject to change at the discretion of show committee. The American Dairy Goat Association rules shall govern. Rosettes will be awarded for Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and Best of Breed in each breed and for Best in Show for both the Senior and Junior Doe Shows in all three rings. Rules and Regulations of the 2018 Goats on the Gulf Open Dairy Goat Show ENTRIES: Entry Deadline Entries received or postmarked by April 15, 2018 Entry fee is $15.00 per animal. $17.00 per animal on entries received (postmarked after that date and up to May 1, 2018) Entries after that will be accepted at $20 per animal up to show date. Substitutions will be accepted upon arrival. All substitutions must be done at check-in time from 7 a.m. 8:45 a.m. Exhibitors must furnish their own pens. The official ADGA registration certificate is required for all animals 6 months of age or older. A duplicate application for registry stamped by the ADGA office is permissible for all animals under 6months of age. The registration or stamped duplicate application must be available to show the check-in secretary at time of arrival.

Entries will not be accepted unless accompanied by payment. ARRIVAL: An State accredited inspectors will be available to carry out health checks of animals prior to unloading. After animals have been cleared by the inspectors, the show secretary (or designee) will check registration papers and assigned classes. All animals MUST be checked and approved by the state inspector BEFORE entering the show ring area. A State inspector will be available to check animals during the following hours: May 4, 2018 (early arrival) - 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. May 5, 2018 (day of the show) - between 7 a.m. 8:45 a.m. No late arrivals will be permitted. The check in desk will be open from 7 a.m. 8:45 a.m. on the morning of the show. The desk will close at 8:45 a.m. IT IS THE EXHIBITOR S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE HIS OR HER ANIMALS ARE CHECKED IN BEFORE THE BOOKS CLOSE AT 8:45 A.M. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE AFTER THAT TIME! JUDGING: Judging will begin at approximately 9 a.m. in Ring 1 beginning with the Senior Doe Show. The Senior Doe Show in Ring 2 will begin after completion of the first breed in Ring 1. The Senior Doe Show in Ring 3 will begin after completion of the first breed in Ring 2. Breeds will show in the following order for all rings: Recorded Grade, Toggenberg, Saanen, Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf, Oberhasli, Alpine, Lamancha. The judge has the option to only give reasons on the top 7 animals in a class of more than 10 animals. HEALTH RULES: Health papers are required. All goats consigned for public exhibition in Florida must be accompanied by official certificates of veterinary inspection dated not more than 90 days prior, certifying animals to be free from symptoms of contagious or infectious diseases. Goats imported into Florida must have an OCVI dated not more than 30 days prior. 2) Dairy goats originating from Florida (not imported) are exempt from TB/ Brucellosis testing requirements. All imported dairy goats 6 months of age or older must originate from a certified/accredited herd (with appropriate documentation), or have verifiable, documented negative testing results recorded on the OCVI. 3) The USDA Premise Identification # must appear on the health certificate. A premise ID may be obtained by calling the USDA office at (352) ) The specific code of the Florida Administrative Code (Chapter 5C-4.005) will be followed.

4 5) The show veterinarian has the final decision on whether animals satisfy all health requirements. Presenting obviously unhealthy animals may, subject to the ruling of the Show Committee, result in the entire herd s disqualification from the show. PLEASE NOTE: If you are bringing junior kids, they MUST be listed on your health certificate unless they are accompanying their dam. If you are bringing kids that are accompanying their dam, your health certificate MUST include a statement to that effect. SHOW ATTIRE: White or black pants (or long skirts) and collared white shirts are mandatory. Closed-toed shoes or boots are required and hats/caps are not allowed. Exhibitors not conforming to this dress code will not be allowed to enter the show ring. Any member of the show committee will be permitted to ask you to change if your clothing does not meet rules. GENERAL: All animals must be either naturally-polled, dehorned, or disbudded. This is a tailgate show. All pens and bedding must be provided by the exhibitor. Any bedding or food brought onto the show grounds must be cleaned up by the exhibitor immediately following the show and prior to release of animals. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to see to the comfort of his/her animals including feed, water, and shade. Failure to do so will cause exhibitor to be excused from the show and the exhibitor will be prohibited from showing the following year. NO DOGS ALLOWED AT THE SHOW. No awards will be given to any animal in any class, if in the opinion of the Judge; said animal does not meet breed standards. The Club will use every precaution in their power to protect the animals, but they will not be responsible for injury, theft, fire, or otherwise. Unacceptable conduct will result in expulsion from the grounds and forfeiture of any awards. Exhibitors agree to follow the IAFE code of ethics. RELEASE: Note: All 1st and 2nd place animals must remain until selection of Grand and Reserve Grand Champions in their breed. All Best of Breed Senior Does must remain until completion of the Senior Doe Shows and selection of Best Senior Doe in Show. If there are no Champion Challengers, the Grand Champion of the day is awarded Best of Breed and must remain for selection of Best Senior Doe in Show. All Junior Grand Champion does must remain until completion of the Junior Doe Shows and selection of Best Junior Doe in Show. All other animals will be released following the completion of their breed. Attendance at the show constitutes acceptance of all the rules contained herein. ALL HAY AND DEBRIS MUST BE REMOVED! PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR PEN AREA BEFORE LEAVING. Trash bags for clean-up MAY be available.
