1 2018 Cass County Fair Youth Livestock Show 1. The officers and board of directors shall have charge and control of the fairgrounds during the Fair and shall be the supreme authority in the Conduct of the Fair. The chairmen of the committees of the various departments will be in full control of the departments over which they are appointed and commissioned. They will be responsible for the special rules of their respective departments and their decisions will be final. The management reserves the right to amend and add to these rules as they, in their opinion may deem advisable. In the event of conflict of general and special rules the latter will take precedence. Any person who violates any of these rules will forfeit all privileges and premiums. 2. Competition is open to all under the age of 21 regardless of residence for livestock shows. 3. Entries MUST be the property of the exhibitor and entered in his or her name. All entries must be filed with the head of the departments. 4. In classes where there is no competition the entry will be judged on its own merits and placed accordingly. Show Superintendent has the privilege to combine single and small class entries. 5. Decision of the judges will be final. 6. Where no rules appear to cover the situation, then the secretary will ask the board to make a rule and define its application to the situation. 7. Livestock exhibitors must be on hand to show their livestock. If an exhibitor has more than one animal in the same class another youth may exhibit the animal. 8. CONTROL OF ANIMALS: Exhibitors must be able to control their animals unassisted. Uncontrollable animal or animals, which the exhibitor cannot handle alone, may be disqualified by the superintendent and required to leave the ring and may be asked to leave the fairgrounds. 9. Animals stalled within personal trailers must and assume responsibility of animal welfare and clean up of area. 10. No hemp, hair, or hair-like materials or surgical alterations will be allowed. This is a youth show; therefore all 4-H and FFA ethics will be applied and endorsed. 11. RELEASE: Time of release is listed under the various departments. The manager requests all exhibits be removed in a timely manner. Removal of an exhibit before the release time for that exhibit without authorization by the superintendent of the department may be cause for forfeiture of all premiums won. 12. All checks need to be made to Cass County Fair. 13. For general rules dealing with livestock including animal health requirements and code of ethics; please view the Missouri State Fair Animal rules and guidelines. ****Generators Welcome**** LIABILITY The Cass County Fair Board expressly refuses to assume any liability for injuries to any person or damage to any property coming upon the grounds of the Cass County Fair, and no claims for injury to any person or damage to property shall be asserted, or suit instituted or maintained against the said Cass County Fair Board, its officers, agents, or employees for said cause by any person having privilege to exhibit or license to operate at the Fair or occupying space in connection with and it is a part of the consideration for each license or privilege granted by the Cass County Fair. The Cass County Fair Board shall in no manner be responsible therefore and in no case will it be subjected to any expense or liability, all persons causing same or liable therefore shall indemnify the Cass County Fair Board at Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

2 ANIMAL HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR EXHIBITION The following is a summary and not reprint of the Animal Health Exhibition. Requirements for Exhibition: Please see the official regulation (2CSR ) for clarification on the following. 1. HEALTH CERTIFICATES/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. Animal Health Requirements for exhibition will follow Missouri State Fair General Rules and Regulations. B. Animals with ringworm lesions or easily visible warts will not exhibit. 2. EXHIBITION REQUIREMENTS FOR CATTLE A. MISSOURI ORGIN CATTLE (INTRASTATE) Cattle from scabies quarantined area or herd cannot exhibit. 1) No certificate or veterinary inspection required. 2) Brucellosis - No test or vaccination is required. 3) Tuberculosis - No test is required. B. OUT OF STATE CATTLE EXHIBITED IN MISSOURI (INTERSTATE) Cattle must have a health certificate showing individual identification. No TB test required for cattle imported into Missouri for exhibition only. Cattle from a scabies quarantined area or herd cannot exhibit. C. CATTLE FROM BRUCELLOSIS FREE STATES: No brucellosis test required. D. CATTLE FROM BRUCELLOSIS CLASS A STATES: Bulls eighteen (18) months of age and over and OCV beef heifers over twenty four (24) months of age and OCV dairy heifers over twenty (20) months of age must have a negative brucellosis test within ninety (90) days. Springer heifers or heifers that have already calved must have a negative test regardless of their age. Animals from a certified brucellosis-free herd do not need a test provided the herd number and current herd test date is on the health certificate. 3. EXHIBITION REQUIREENTS FOR SHEEP & GOATS A. Sheep and goats must be free of clinical signs of infectious or contagious disease. Sheep and goats from a scabies quarantined area or herd must be treated by an approved method before the exhibition and must get a permit number. B. All goats, regardless of age or gender, must be individually identified by an official scrapie ear tag or any other means of permanent identification approved by the State Veterinarian and is listed on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. C. No test required.

Entry fees are as follows: Showmanship: Free Per Head Entry: $5.00 (by June 22, 2018) $10.00 (after June 22, 2018) All pre-entered exhibitors will receive a Cass County Fair Livestock Exhibitor T-Shirt 2. Out of state goats must have health papers 3. Open to exhibitors 21 years of age or younger The show is open to any youth wishing to exhibit, not just those from Cass County 4. Cass County Fair will follow the rules set forth by the Missouri State Fair unless otherwise noted: Wrist bands will not be used for approved animal care and show prep designations Please remember this is a youth show and 4-H/FFA Code of Ethics are enforced 5. This is a youth show; therefore all 4-H and FFA Code of Ethics will be applied and enforced. 6. Judging will be in accordance to the American Boer Goat Association Standards 7. Market Goats must be under one (1) year of age and have milk teeth. 8. All goats will be released at the completion of the show (Please be considerate of the sheep exhibitors. Their show is immediately following the goat show.) 9. Muzzles will not be allowed on goats 10. Classes may be combined at the discretion of the superintendent 11. Limited electricity is available, generators welcome 12. Bedding will not be supplied 13. Please remove all bedding at the completion of the show 14. All stalls must be cleaned before being released by the Superintendent
