3 For 34 years Springer Simmental has been committed to selecting females that prioritize their calves over themselves. Our females are easy-fleshing, breed back quickly, and wean huge calves without creep. We have not chased fads, but continue to select for traits that impact our customers economics. We professionally develop our bulls with a high roughage diet while selecting for fleshing ease and additional muscle that is necessary to keep our customers receiving premiums on the rail or as sale topping feeders. As a result of this selection process our yearling bulls typically gain weight throughout their first breeding season and continuously last 6 to 8 years. We strongly believe our repeat customers are the building blocks to our success and look forward to discussing how Springer Simmental genetics can benefit your cattle operation. Remember our sight unseen buyer guarantee, just please call ahead so we can fulfill your needs with the right individuals. Our goal is, and has always been, unmatched customer service. Buy with confidence that these bulls will improve your bottom line! Michelle graduates from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May, and is looking forward to making money rather than spending it on tuition. You can see the passion in her eyes and hear it in her voice when working with an animal. Todd continues as Operations Safety Coordinator with Silgan Container Corporation. We really appreciate the work his spare-time business, On the Hoof Media, does for us. Continue to watch our website for the updates Todd places online. Steve and Brianna purchased a house in Farmington, Minnesota this summer and are settling into home ownership quite nicely. Steve continues as Senior Specialist of In Store Marketing at Target headquarters and Bri continues as Scientific Services Specialist for the National Marrow Donor Program. They have a new addition to their family, but unfortunately, it is 4-legged instead of 2. Lynda continues with the State of Iowa as an area supervisor. She spends her spare time in her newly remodeled kitchen. We had to add storage shelves to our basement this year for all of her canned goods and freezing supplies. We found a new crop for her to preserve this year-- elderberries. Her pie and jam are just heavenly. It s a good thing the cattle make me walk a lot and work hard, or I would be round like a berry. I am extremely fortunate to have the love, help and support of my family. As a father it s especially rewarding to see my kids succeed. I m very proud of all of their accomplishments. Special thanks to Lynda for making me a better person and for the great meal today. Thanks to Mike Wilson who has worked by my side for over 20 years. He treats the cattle like his own and always does a great job. Thanks to Dan Kimball for being a good friend and doing a fantastic job getting all of the cattle ready for our sales and shows. Our production partners have the same goals and commitment to producing superior seedstock that we do. Please take the time to get know each of them. I would like to extend my thanks for all of their hard work and dedication toward producing some of the best seedstock available in the industry today. As always, all of the cattle selling are guaranteed to perform as expected or we ll fix it to your satisfaction. We encourage everyone to take advantage of our hospitality and join us Friday or Saturday for a showing of the bulls or tour the cow herd. Please remember our servicemen in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to protect our rights and liberties. We look forward to seeing you February 1st. Sincerely, Jeff Springer Jeff & Lynda Springer Steve and Brianna Springer with Finn (left). Todd and Michelle Christianson with Tango (right) The sale will be broadcast on see page 2 for more information I love to work with kids and watch them mature into young adults. This past year we were blessed with 3 young people who worked in our Simmental business. We were extremely saddened to lose a great young person this past summer. Shay Peckham loved life, loved cattle and always had a smile on her face. As she was showing her cow/calf pair at the county fair last year, I glanced at her and her face was just beaming. She is greatly missed. She rinsed Denver cattle for us the previous 2 years, her dad worked for us when he was in high school, and her grandmother milked cows for us when we first moved to Cresco. They are a fantastic, hard-working family and we are extremely sorry for their loss. Natalie Knobloch is in her second year of rinsing Denver cattle for us and now showing cattle in the summer. She is coming out of her shell and now pushing back when the bulls throw her into the panels. She has become our adopted daughter now that we are empty-nesters. Natalie Knoblock & Travis Selnes hard at work Travis Selnes is doing his internship through Northeast Iowa Community College with us. He worked full-time throughout the summer, and continues to put in 40 to 50 hours per week besides going to school full-time! He does a great job, works hard and is really good with the cattle. Travis will graduate in May, We wish him well in his future endeavors. 1

They are all sired by Springer Simmental bulls. These females were exposed staring June 8, 2013 to a son of Yukon out of Rio Bravo s mother Sweetie Bear. The service sires show him to be a heifer bull with additional growth. The bred heifers have been preg checked to calve in a 30 day window. They will suit the most discriminating buyer

30 Springer Simmental bulls will increase your profitability!!!!! Calves from our bulls have extra desire to get up and nurse quickly. We cull bull and female calves that do not nurse independently within 1 hr of birth. The females from our genetics are expected to lick, clean and mother their calves on their own or again are culled. We select females that stay with their calves 24-7 rather than leaving a watch cow with a bunch of calves. This provides calves that nurse more often and get sick less, resulting in better gains with less expense. For 34 years we have selected for large scrotals resulting in fertile females that breed back easily and bulls that can handle extra cows with ease. We have selected for cattle that flourish on grass. Grain and the resulting extra costs are not necessary for excellent gains and feed efficiency. Our bulls typically maintain or gain weight on grass resulting in less stress and more longevity. It is common for bulls from our genetics to still be servicing cows at 8-10 years of age. We guarantee your investment will never need its feet trimmed or we will pay for it. We haven t paid for one yet! We cannot guarantee every bull purchased will be perfect, but we will guarantee your satisfaction regardless of the obstacle that presents itself. Sincerely, Jeff Springer In 2011, we were in search of a herd bull that could improve our cattle. We contacted Jeff, and we were very impressed with his knowledge and his cattle. We purchased SAS Meat Wagon sight unseen, hoping he could survive in the deserts of Utah. We turned him out and watched him thrive; he has qualities that just don t account for. He is thick, large boned, and is structurally correct, breeds every cow in the pasture, and has never had a sore foot. His calves come easy, get up quick and continue to grow on the range and in the feedlot. Jeff didn t just sell a bull, he built a relationship and friendship with us that we will benefit from for years to come. Brandon Yardley 28
