Doors open from 7.00 a.m. onwards All birds must be caged by 9.30 a.m. Sale order : poultry a.m. followed by poultry equipment Completed registration forms must be handed to the main office before first purchase. REGULATIONS & CONDITIONS OF THE POULTRY SALE 1. All birds must be caged by 9.30 a.m. on Saturday 17 TH June Due to increased bio security requirements birds arriving late will not be accepted for sale. All birds will be inspected by a Veterinary Surgeon on arrival prior to entry to the premises. No cage, crate, basket or container will be allowed on to the premises that is visibly contaminated with bird droppings, bedding or other material of bird origin other than that from, or provided for, the birds being brought to the sale. 2. Neither the Auctioneers nor any of their Officers or Servants shall be in any way responsible or accountable for any damage or loss caused by any accident through fire or any other cause whatsoever nor for any damage done or loss caused by any bird or its owner whilst on the Sale premises prior to, during or after the event. Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to or occasioned by or arising from any bird exhibited by him and shall indemnify the Auctioneers against all legal or other proceedings in relation thereto. 3. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or cancel any entry already accepted. 4. No substitutes will be accepted under any circumstances. 5. The Auctioneers reserve the right to reject any bird from the Sale which, in their option, does not conform to the required standards. 6. Method of Sale: All Lots will be sold in Pounds ( s) and the bidding to be for the cage, either a trio or a pair etc. All Lots will be sold in catalogue order, unless any change is announced by the Auctioneers. 7. Buyers Numbers will be used. Purchasers must collect a number (in exchange for details of name, address and contact telephone number) before first purchase from the Auctioneer s office. 8. Clearance of Birds. All birds must be cleared from the Market by 4.00 p.m. on the day of Sale. No bird will be delivered to any purchaser without the presentation of a special Pass obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement, and no bird may be cleared except through the official Stewards. Vendors with unsold Lots should also obtain a Pass from the Auctioneers in order to remove. Purchasers must provide their own carry boxes. 9. Poultry should be carried in suitable boxes, and potential purchasers are strongly advised to bring boxes with them. Birds must not be transported in sacks. 10. Settlement is due to the Auctioneers immediately at the close of Sale. 11. Commissions. The Auctioneers will charge a commission to both buyers and sellers of 10% on the sale prices realised. 12. This sale complies with current market legislation. 13. Exhibitors must provide their own bowls and water containers. 14. Vendor Note: When Vendors wish to give further details of their stock for the benefit of potential Purchasers, they may write these details on a card which can be displayed on the Sale Pen. 15. All birds entered are at the vendor s own risk. 16. The sale must not be attended by any birds brought in to the UK from any other EU Member State (excluding the Republic of Ireland) in the previous four weeks. There is an EU wide ban on the import of live birds from third countries already in place. 17. We recommend that birds should be inspected for signs of ill health before travelling to any gathering, and any birds travelling from a gathering to any premises (whether they are returning stock or new) should be isolated from other birds at that premises and monitored for signs of illness for at least one week. Any signs of ill health observed in these birds during this period must be reported to a veterinary surgeon and such birds must not be mixed with any other birds until the presence of an avian notifiable disease has been ruled out. 18. No single cockerels may be entered for sale. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO VENDORS Vendors of Poultry are reminded that all stock must be watered and fed before the sale.
