Randox Life Sciences is a recognised primary manufacturer of high quality, cost-effective human recombinant proteins, polyclonal/ monoclonal antibodies and conjugates for a variety of research and development applications. State of the art technology is used at our ISO certified manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom to produce over 200 antibodies covering a wide range of targets and functional applications including ELISA, Western Blot analysis, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. In addition to the extensive list of antibodies available we currently have more tests in development than any other diagnostic company in the world. The quality systems within Randox Life Sciences are monitored regularly both internally and externally enabling us to provide reliable and consistent products of the highest quality. Drug residue antisera from Randox Life Sciences The majority of drugs are administered to improve animal health and treat disease; veterinary drugs however are often abused in both racing and food producing animals to improve meat production and performance. Since most meat is intended for human consumption many drug residues eventually make their way to the food chain were they can potentially pose a risk to human health. The European Community Directive 86/469/ EEC defines the requirements for testing animals and food for drug residues in all member states. Sensitive, reliable and cost effective methods of monitoring drug residues are therefore essential to ensure that levels remain within the defined limits. In response to these requirements Randox Life Sciences have developed a diverse range of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies as well as corresponding HRP labelled conjugates specific to an extensive list of drug residues, providing customers with a working combination for use in the development of in house detection methods such as ELISA.
Our range of antibodies provide the following key benefits: High sensitivity High concentration Excellent specificity to target compound Detailed cross reactivity profiles Available for bulk purchase Stable when stored at -20 o C Excellent reproducibility between lot numbers Corresponding HRP labelled conjugates (tracers) available General Polyclonal Specification Host Animal: Sheep Format: Ig fraction prepared by caprylic acid and ammonium sulphate precipitation ph: 7.2 Buffer: 20mM Phosphate, 150mM Sodium Chloride Preservative: 0.09% Sodium Azide Storage: All antibodies can be stored at 2-8 C or frozen at -20 C General Monoclonal Specification Host Animal: Sheep Format: Purified high affinity monoclonal antibody ph: 7.2 Buffer: PBS Preservative: 0.09% Sodium Azide Method of Production: In vitro cell culture using standard DMEM media supplemented with foetal bovine serum of a USDA approved origin Method of Purification: Protein A Affinity Chromatography
Growth Promoters Growth-promoting hormones have been extensively used by the livestock industry to improve the ability of food producing animals to efficiently and effectively use nutrients in order to produce leaner, more affordable meat. Concerns over the use of hormones in food-producing animals first arose during the late 1970s and early 1980s, when a number of incidents linked hormone residues in meat with various medical conditions after consumption. As a result, the use of growth-promoting hormones in livestock production is either prohibited or severely regulated. Compliance with these regulations is ensured by national monitoring programmes. Our extensive product range features high quality antibodies and conjugates specific to a wide variety of growth promoter s. b-agonists Cimaterol Clenbuterol Isoxsuprine Ractopamine Ritodrine Salbutamol Salmeterol Zilpaterol CORTICOSTEROIDS Cortisol Cortisone Dexamethasone Flumethasone NATURAL STEROIDS Androstanedione Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) Dihydrotestosterone Epiandrosterone 17a-Estradiol 17b-Estradiol Zeranol Estriol Gestrinone 17a-Oh-Progesterone Progesterone 17a-Testosterone 17b-Testosterone Testosterone RESORCYCLIC ACID LACTONE STILBENES Diethylstilbestrol Dienestrol Hexestrol SYNTHETIC ANDROGENS Boldenone 17a Boldenone 17b Boldenone Clostebol CLAD Dehydromethyltestosterone Mestanolone Methandriol Methylboldenone Methyldihydrotestosterone Ethinylestradiol Methyltestosterone 17b-Trenbolone 17a-Trenbolone 17a-Nortestosterone 17b-Nortestosterone 19-Nortestosterone SYNTHETIC ESTROGENS SYNTHETIC GESTAGENS Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Chlormadinone Acetate Megestrol Acetate Megestrol Melengestrol Acetate
Antimicrobial Drugs Antimicrobial compounds have been used in food producing animals for some time to treat infections and to function as growth promoters. The inappropriate use of such antimicrobial compounds in food producing animals has led to serious health concerns and concerns over the development of antibiotic resistant strains of micro organism. As a direct result of these concerns, many countries have banned or limited the use of antimicrobial compounds in food producing animals and have set maximum residue limits (MRLs) for antimicrobial residues in food. Our extensive product range features high quality antibodies and conjugates specific to a wide variety of antimicrobial drugs including: NITROFURANS 4 - Nitrophenyl AHD 4 - Nitrophenyl SEM PHENICOLS 4 - Nitrophenyl AOZ 4 - Nitrophenyl AMOZ AMINOGLYCOSIDES Apramycin Kanamycin Neomycin Pirlimycin b-lactams Amoxycillin, Ampicillin and Penicillin CARBADOX/QCA Carbadox CEPHALOSPORINS Ceftiofur/ Desfuroylcetiofur DYES Leucomalachite Green IMIDAZOLES Ronidazole Spiramycin Streptomycin/ Dihydrostreptomycin Tobramycin Chloramphenicol Florfenicol POLYPEPTIDES Bacitracin PYRIMIDINES Trimethoprim QUINOLONES Fumequine Fluoroquinolones STREPTOGRAMS Virginiamycin SULPHONAMIDES Sulphabenzamide Sulphachlorpyridazine Sulphadiazine Sulphadimethoxine Sulphadoxine Sulphaguanidine Sulphamerazine Thiamphenicol/ Florfenicol Ormetoprim Nalidixic Acid Oxolinic Acid Sulphamethazine Sulphanilamide Sulphaphenazole Sulphapyridine Sulphaquinoxaline Sulphathiazole Sulphatroxazole MACROLIDES Tacrolimus Tylosin/Tilmicosin TETRACYCLINES Tetracycline
Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, usually abbreviated to NSAIDs or NAIDs, are drugs with analgesic, antipyretic and, in higher doses, anti-inflammatory effects - they are commonly used to reduce pain, fever and inflammation. The use of NSAIDs in animal production is strictly regulated in the EU with residues monitored in plasma, serum and milk to prevent potentially harmful drug residues entering the food chain. Our product range features over 10 high quality antibodies and conjugates specific to a wide variety of NSAIDs. NSAIDs Dapsone Dipyrone Etodolac Flunixin Kebuzone Ketoprofen Meloxicam Methylprednisolone Phenylbutazone/ Oxyphenbutazone Tolfenamic Acid
Anti-parasitic drugs Anti-parasitic drugs such as Anthelmintics are used in the livestock industry to treat a range of intestinal parasitic worms known as the helminths. Such drugs and their metabolites can manifest themselves in animal products like meat and eggs; to prevent the presence of these potentially harmful drug residues in foodstuff of animal origin the European Union has introduced Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for many anti-parasitic drugs. In addition to the use of Anthelmintics to treat parasitic infections they are often used illegally in dairy cattle were residues can remain in milk posing a risk to human health. Another commonly used class of anti-parasitic drugs include the Coccidiostats which are extensively used to treat Coccidiosis in farm animals especially chickens. The amount of drug used however can be extremely toxic to other agriculturally important animals furthermore drug residues can remain in both meat and eggs at high concentrations resulting in adverse effects for the consumer. Many Coccidiostats have been banned for use due to their toxic properties and it is now compulsory to monitor the use of Coccidiostats in all EU countries. Our extensive product range features over 10 high quality antibodies and conjugates specific to a wide variety of anti-parasitic drugs including. ANTHELMINTICS Benzimidazole (Generic) Aminobenzimidazole Ivermectin Thiabendazole Triclabendazole COCCIDIOSTATS Dinitrosalicyclic Acid Hydrazide (DNSH) Diclazuril Lasalocid Monensin Nicarbazin Toltrazuril
