12 Judges Critique A surprisingly hot day but I thought that the exhibits coped well with the conditions as a whole. With some exceptions, I was disappointed with the younger dogs present today. Bitches seemed stronger on the whole. I was concerned that the dark eye colour is being lost in the blacks. Once again it was evident that some otherwise excellent exhibits show a lack of length and angulation of upper arms, reflected in a lack of forechest. VETERAN DOG ( Entries, Abs). Taylor & Mackinnon s Ch Frankish Desert Trouper, 9 ½ y.o. b/w, good head, lovely body shape although I would prefer a little more spring of rib, excellent topline, moved with drive, impressively fit. Puppy Dog (, 0). Baker s Oneowun Ohio, deeply pigmented m.o. b/w, pleasing expression, strongly boned, tended to stand with a slightly slack topline at this stage, but moved well.. Upfield s Pink Mead March Dust, sparsely marked 6 m.o. b/w, inexperienced dog and handler meant that he was not always showing his virtues, very strongly boned but still immature in body, giving a lot away in age. JUNIOR DOG (8, ). Jubb s Dalmark The Double Agent, m.o. l/w who I have placed well before, richly coloured spotting, lovely quality coat, good head and lovely reach of neck, correct width of chest, would prefer stronger hindquarters and topline, moved very well fore and aft.. Kenyon s Marricdale Hero Of Time, more sparsely marked 6 m.o. b/w, very compact, well boned, very pleased with his head and expression, tended to pillar his neck which detracted a little from his outline, good stifles, excellent tail carriage.. Carvell s Tumbril Texasgold By Lilal YEARLING DOG (8, ). Lewis Man About Town At Hunterswood JW, beautifully sound b/w, pleasing head, would prefer slightly more angle of upper arm, good but not spectacular markings, lovely quality and substance, excellent topline, moved with drive, pressed hard in the challenge.. Lamb s Dalpetro Dettori JW, rather a different outline to the winner on this b/w, many good points, especially his upper arm and excellent tail carriage, loved his character, just lost out on expression and slightly less well boned than, not very settled today.. M Marricdale Hero Of Time POST Graduate Dog (8, ). Smith s Dalleaf Mullberry, quality m.o. l/w who scored particularly in head, reach of neck and good forechest, good bone, in lovely coat, has good driving movement which he tried not to demonstrate to advantage whenever possible!. Ely s Wintermine Dynamo, another quality l/w, nearly m.o., very happy and lively chap, well bodied, not quite the forehand of and coat not quite as good today, another who tried to disguise the strength of his driving movement but it eventually earned him this placing.. Moate s Sundown's Chocolate Chip LIMIT DOG (8, ). Kembrey s Dalmark The Showstormer JW, best of fronts on this deeply pigmented b/w, not quite the classic head but after that it is hard to fault him, lovely stifles, moved very soundly and with vigour, thought his outline to be almost ideal, pleased to award him the CC and slightly surprised to hear that it was his first.. Stocks Dalmark The Shaded Moon At Nospar JW, lovely l/w, close up to, would beat on head alone but just lost out on upper arm, excellent spring of rib, another with excellent stifles, lovely topline, difficult decision.. Rance s Olbero Owtkachit OPEN DOG (, ). Stokes Elaridge Quincie JW, scopey l/w with generous bone, lovely head and expression, correct width of front, good ribcage, a dog who really looked so much better than I have seen him before, whether it was the change of handler or that you have to go over him to appreciate him fully, I cannot say, still not the most exuberant showman but a really good sort, won the ResCC.. Moore s Ch Fincham Trade Wind, larger b/w of quality, superb front, good bone and stifles, lost out to on spring of rib but an excellent stallion dog.. Goff-Leggett s Ch Washakie Chief As Great As JW VETERAN BITCH (7, ). Gibbs Phadante Norweigen Wood Sh.CM, nearly 8 y.o. b/w, very sound and active, good forehand and pasterns, lovely substance and balance, still very much a showgirl, Best Veteran.. Alexander s Ch Offordale Rialto, similarly aged b/w of quality, lovely neck and shoulders, excellent bone, good stifles, slightly longer than and tended to stand a little slack in topline, beautifully marked.. 13 PUPPY BITCH (, 0) Lovely collection of puppies, shame that there was no minor puppy class.. Moore s Manchando Choc Chip Cookie From Fincham, 0 m.o. l/w, good reach of neck, lovely angulation fore and aft, good width of chest, soundest of movement, slightly long in coat at the moment, excellent showgirl, Best Puppy.. Richardson s Pearly Naughty Las At Jomihvar, deep black 6 m.o., looked as young as she is, lovely quality, beautiful coat, good forehand, excellent stifles, showed very well, slightly less settled on the move than but time is certainly on her side.. Alexander s Offordale White Lady JUNIOR BITCH (9, ) Very close decision between and, edged by. Page s Winflash Spring Angel, 7 m.o. b/w with lovely head and expression, good forehand and excellent bone, good stifles, won on more accurate movement.. Scott-Allen & Davis Tolutim Zaffre, another 7 m.o. b/w. standing I thought would be my winner, slightly more compact than and in better coat but movement rather erratic today.. Lewis Hunterswood Razzmatazz JW YEARLING BITCH (7, 0). Rance s Olbero One to Treasure, 8 m.o. l/w of great substance, very striking outline, I loved her head and expression, excels in neck and forehand, matched by her hindquarters, spotting lacks depth of colour at the moment and rather unsettled on the move but I saw glimpses that showed everything to be OK and she has lots of drive, never gave up showing, quite a large bitch but has great potential.. Baker s Dalleaf Japonica JW, m.o. l/w, very different type to but lots to recommend her, preferred her liver colour, lovely neck, good forehand, more compact than and not quite the same sweep of stifle, her movement in profile is a dream to watch, very promising.. Tolutim Zaffre POST GRADUATE BITCH (, ) Difficult class, with wide variety of types.. Coates Cubalibre Beauty Spot, heavily marked, substantial y.o. b/w, deep pigment, lovely front, good bone, stifles maybe a little too well developed, moved well, would prefer a darker eye.. Adderley s Phadante Follow That Dream, y.o. b/w, not a flashy bitch but a lovely type, very well balanced, lovely head, good width of chest, could do with slightly more spring of rib.. Williams Phadante Bossanova Baby LIMIT BITCH (, ). Levy s Motek Chelsea Chloe JW, y.o. l/w, compact and with excellent substance, good if slightly plain head, nice width of chest, lovely spring of rib, low hocks, tail flows off her back, nothing exaggerated and all in proportion, moved very actively, won the ResCC.. Neath-Duggan s Buffrey Sprig O Mint JW, very elegant b/w with lovely bone, nice length of neck, excellent topline, not quite the upper arm angulation of and less accurate on the move today.. Kembrey s Dalmark Panda the Peach OPEN BITCH (9, ). Levy s Ch Svolvaergeita's Crown Jewel At Motek (Imp), gorgeous colour on this l/w, in impeccable coat, lovely substance, excellent forehand and hindquarters, compact body, lots of bone, showed very well, a very typical bitch who did not put a foot wrong today, I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC and eventually BOB.. Forrest s Choosespots Camelia By Spotswood, another lovely l/w, taller than and with slightly finer head, excellent reach of neck, not quite the width of front or overall substance of but a very high quality bitch who showed lovely movement, close up in the RCC challenge..
