16 Judges Critique Veteran Dog 1. Neath Duggan s - Tumbril True Blue Buffrey JW - 10 year old B/W. Well bodied and sound. Good head and eyes, level topline, good tail set, Deep brisket and nicely tucked up loin, good bend of stifle moved well. Enjoying his day. Minor Puppy Dog 1. Croft s - Doubtwell Show Stopper A very steady first outing for this 6 month old B/W boy. Nicely constructed on good bone. A good head, dark eye and clean muzzle framed by well decorated ears. Clean neck into correct shoulders, nicely tucked loin, brisket still dropping. Stood on sound legs and tight feet At the back clean muscle well bent stifle and clean hocks supplied the power on the move..2. Kembrey s - Dalmark the Sandman. Another 6month B/W still in development and of very similar description but not quite as mature or as settled as 1 3. Gates -Raw s - Dalendale Quiet Riot 4. Burrows -Daealus - Deacon Blue at Shacarlu 5. Bellwood & Carr s - Natomois Ursa Major Puppy Dog 1. Pasco s - Candidals the Firestarter. A star in the making this 10 month L/W dog has mental maturity which belies his youth. Beautifully decorated, his attractive head sits on top of an arched neck the front assembly is clean and correct, leg straight down to correct cat feet The quarters mirror the front and the stifle and well let down hocks complete the picture. On the move he drives in a true straight line and the tracking is impeccable. As he matures physically he can only get better. Best Puppy in Show 2. Goodswen s - Tamilanda Pink Vigilante from Alphadal A very attractive B/W really well made and decorated, moved very well. Unlucky to come up against such an outstanding example as1 3. Christie s - Sophtspot Abracadabra 4. Williams - Phadante Brighton Rock 5. Rose s - Candidals Run Forest Run Junior Dog 1. Adderley s - Leiahart Chicago Bear - Clean shapely B/W correct size Lightly marked soulful face framed by well marked ears clean neck into super chest, with correct front, and heart room, well boned legs. Well let down brisket and clean tucked loin, hind quarters well muscled. Good bend of stifle and upright hocks, strong well set tail which he used both standing and moving. Driving round the ring the topline was level at all times.a real picture.. Best Dog 2. Goff - Leggett s - Washakie Aslan -A liver I have liked since a puppy strong well made in all aspects today he was carrying a little more weight then I would have liked. 3. Goodswen s - Tamilanda Pink Vigilante from Alphadal 4. Tingey s - Holderness Hillbilly By Dallyador JW 5. Wight & Grimmett s - Tafuta Hidden Echo Maiden Dog No entries Novice Dog 1. Flavell s - Daldior He s A Real Gem. - A well defined and shapely B/W dog Good head, eyes and teeth, well used ears, long neck, and lovely deep Brisket well tucked up loin. clean legs on all four corners and a well set on tail. Moved well. Topline held level and tail used to effect 2. Wight & Grimmett s - Tufuta Hidden Echo Very similar to 1 but slightly shorter in back and a little less mature. 3. Taylor s - Tamilanda Pink Cadillac Graduate Dog 1. Gibbs - Phadante Supatroupa - Strong B/W nice head good temperament. A little tall and carrying a bit of weight on neck, shoulders and loin which spoiled his outline. Moved well. Post Graduate Dog 1. Whiting s - Dalesbred Djamaica at Cragvallie - A lovely dramatically marked Page 16/19
17 B/W dog he is attentive and responsive to his handler. Deep dark eyes in a well defined head framed by well placed and decorated ears. Clean neck. lovely shoulder angle. Strong legs and tight feet, deep brisket, super hind quarters and rear legs, level topline well set and carried tail good driving action. A contender. 2. Smith s - Dalminshi Star Cluster. Young B/W lacked the vibrancy of 1 and a little smaller all-round, but attentive and well handled. 3. Kay s - Kaytian One Cool Kat JW 4. Jubb s - Dalmark the Double Agent JW 5. Davis s - Streamline Magic Secret Limit Dog 1. Goff-Leggett s - Washakie Nutcracker Prince moths B/W this very handsome boy is maturing faster them this litter brother (Placed in Junior) Turned out in sparkling condition his face is well defined but slightly plain, deep dark eyes, well placed and decorated ears and a happy disposition greet you. A clean neck slides in to a good shoulder assembly which fits comfortably with of a deep and broad chest. The brisket drops to the elbow and well sprung ribs surround the heart and lungs all this on top of clean strong legs and tight feet with short nails. Behind the loin is still a little deep but the quarters are mature and shapely well bent stifle and neatly let down hocks to tight feet. Tail set and carriage are correct and standing or moving he forms a picture which is hard to fault. On the move his driving action and true tracking an example to follow. A well deserved Best Dog, B.O.S and B.O.B 2. Kazana s - Dalzana King of Joppa - B/W Attentive and attractive with a well defined head and face. A little lighter all round then 1 but shapely and once again moving in a very sound, true drive both coming and going. 3. Kimberly s Jabberwocky The Conquistador at Delmar 4. McMillan s - Oneowun Mr Bojangles at Dalliance 5. Beaumont & Croft s Kroyza Grippi ll Miracolo Open Dog 1. Smith s Dalleaf Mulberry. A super, strong, happy dog. A picture of fitness. A good strong head topped a well developed neck and chest front assembly. Loin well tucked and good quarters with mature muscling. Nicely turned hocks long tail and a level toppling. Moved well with a sound drive. Another contender but in the challenge seem to lose his concentration. 2. Lamb s - Dalpetro Dettori JW. A dog I have often admired, but today he felt a little under weight and not giving his best. 3. Dinsdale s -Dalesbred Dreadlocks. Veteran Bitch 1. Richardson s - Dalmark Moon Europa JW Hard to believe this B/W bitch is almost 10 years old Shapely fit and clean lined she would not have been out of place in the open class 2. Rose s Washakie Ocean Song by Candidals - A close contest between these two very handsome bitches on another day the placing could be reversed. 3. Baker s - Oneowun Vienna 4. Gibbs Phadante Norweigen Wood Sh.CM 5. Ford s - Kayjule Princess Jasmin Sh.CM Minor Puppy Bitch 1. Russell s - Dalmark the Sandpiper at Dalynrics - Such a feminine young lady good size all round nice head friendly outlook good front clean limbs, back level on the move, muscle developing. Sired by a dog I admire. 2. Kembrey s - Dalmark the Sand Witch - Very similar to her litter sister (above) in both make and shape moves well but not yet ready to brace out when standing. Along with their litter brother (placed in PD) I expect to see these being placed in the future 3. Croft s - Doubtwell April Shower 4. Croft s - Doubtwell Amazing Grace Puppy Bitch 1 Whincup s - Tamilanda Lilly The Pink - Good size and well decorated but a bit plain faced plenty of body would like to see a bit more distinct shape in the underline. Stands and moves well. Page 17/19
18 3. Tillson s - Spotswood Empress Leilia at Elebri - This lively young lady has the underline which the above lacks but does not yet display the topline which is required. 3. Williams - Phadante One Vision 4. Dinsdale s - Koroyza Candy Floss at Dalesbred 5. Hughes & Smith s - Tamilanda Pretty in Pink Junior Bitch 1. Tingey s - Phaeland Pheonix Phorever By Dallyador JW - This L/W young lady has it all in the right places..bright outlook and lovely head graceful neck, long flowing lines. A level topline and tail. Super brisket, strong legs and good feet all-round, moved freely and showed her heart out. 2. Roach s - Holderness Herb Roberta - Another L/W so like the above they could have been litter sisters only when I checked the breeding did I realise that they came from the same sire. 3. Dodds - Rose Gem 4. Whiting s - Cibrith China Aster 5. Rose s Candidals Flirty Frankie Maiden Bitch 1. Whincup s - Tamilanda Lilly The Pink -Second class of the day 2. Dinsdale s - Koroyza Candy Floss at Dalesbred - Well constructed B/W, moved very nicely. Standing tended to carry tail a little high and heavily decorated ears detracted from overall picture 3. Adderley s - Phadante Bohemian Rhapsody Novice Bitch 1. Whincup s - Tamilanda Lilly The Pink -Third Class. Well done! 2. Richardsons - Mapplewell Hot fudge - Pretty L/W looked good and tracked well when moving, and good bone and feet. Tended to drop topline when standing 3. Dinsdale s - Koroyza Candy Floss at Dalesbred 4. Fox & Pashley s - Ellemstra Intuition 5. Adderley s - Phadante Bohemian Rhapsody Graduate Bitch 1. Richardson s - Buffrey Lightening Strike Amongst Mapplewell - Slightly smaller B/W with a very pretty face well marked and shapely moved out strongly and stood square good bone and tight feet nice bend of stifle and upright hocks. 2. Roach s - Holderness Herb Roberta 3. Addy s - Creaganbrec Raven Black 4. Williams - Phadante take A Chance On Me 5. Fox & Pashley s - Ellemstra Intuition Post Graduate Bitch 1. Pickup s Roadcoach Ribbons And Roses JW A bright happy B/W who is slowly maturing moves freely with drive. Muscles well defined eager and friendly face well set and carried ears lovely underline and well used tail. 2. Rose's - Dalpetro Desdemona JW - I have admired this bitch from the ringside for a long time B/W good size and well muscled. A pretty face nicely defined and framed by well decorated ears. Long neck and sound shoulders, good depth of brisket, well developed quarters. well turned stifle and upright hocks. Beautiful standing but was not moving as well to day as I know she can. 3. Kembrey s Dalmark the Super Sleuth JW 4. Smith s - Christines Girl 5. Boden s - Dalmark The Blue Moon Limit Bitch 1. Haywood & Ridgeway s - Luccombe Hazel Nut Cluster - What a class, I could have used several red cards here! Two year old L/W completely at home with both her handler and the task in hand. Standing she is relaxed yet ready for action, when called to move she flows in to a free driving action which is to all intents effortless. The symmetry of bone muscle and weight all combine to form a perfect picture. The elegant head with dark amber eyes and defined stop, framed by beautiful ears. A graceful arched neck flows into a strong but feminine body superb top and under line lines are supported by sound well boned legs which she used to drive home her top place today. Page 18/19
19 Best Bitch. Best in Show. Best Liver in show 2. Polehill s - Kymvale Savannah - I have liked this B/W girl since she was a puppy. Beautifully decorated and friendly. Strong and free moving she is slightly shorter in back and just failed to match the movement of Harrison-Stratford s - Dalkereve Dark N Devine JW 4. Tingey s - Olbero One of Our Own at Dallyador 5. Addy s - Creaganbrec Rosie Cotton JW Open Bitch 1. Dinsdale s - Dalesbred Mariette - I can t fully explain just why I like this beautiful B/W bitch I just know that every time I see her I fall in love with her again. Lovely head ears a little dark. She has the truest level topline of any dog in the ring. With a tailset and carriage which is to die for. Her decoration is superb and clean. Movement is straight and true. Front and shoulders all speak of good regular exercise, hind quarters superb. Beaten today by the visual softness of the limit winner.. Best Bitch 2. Wright's - Angelic Aphrodite for Millbelle JW - B/W slightly shorter and not the topline of 1. Moves well but overextends when standing 3. Pickup s Roadcoach Rose de Noel Brace 1. Tingey s Brace - Beautifully matched liver dog & bitch pair who worked well both standing and moving 2. Ward s Brace - Pretty black and white dog & bitch pair with big difference in size to overcome. 3 Smith s Brace John McCarthy (Judge) JUNIOR HANDLING Thanks to the North Of England Dalmatian Club committee for inviting me to judge. Today I judged it with the point system (not commonly used) as I thought this was the fairest way to get my places. There was some amazing handling some of the best handling skills I ve seen from some of the youngsters. Handlers need to watch were I am instead of following the floor mats. Parts of the dog were another thing that some the handlers looked red in the face when asked. Apart from that handlers showed very well and were smartly dressed. There looks to be some very promising young handlers for the future! 1st Abbie Williams-such a confident young handler but let her self down today on winning it overall on her triangle were she performed a reverse triangle instead of a triangle. Her circle were she swapped hands was very good and very smooth something that made her handling just that bit more stylish. Showing the teeth she was the only handler to not be brutal to the dog. Was very well dressed in a black suit and gave a lot of confidence to her dog. An amazing handler overall someone to watch for the future! 2ndJordan Mercer- Another great handler today just needs to be aware of not breaking the golden rule. Was smartly dressed very neat and tidy. Had a good relationship with her dog and was very smiley and looked as if she was really enjoying herself. Very polite as well. 3rd Alexandra Adderley was very hard having to pick between her and 4th place as they were both were just the same but Alexandra managed to let me see the dog just a bit more than 4th place. This made me pick her 3rd. She was very smartly dressed and stood her dog very well 4th Lydia Boden 1st- Arron Williams- On today s performance I would say it s the best I have ever seen Arron perform. Doing everything I asked of him and answered each point of the dog correct. My only fault to Arron would be straighter lines and tighter corners. But apart from that I couldn t fault him. Was the only handler out of both age groups to notice were I had stood and started from were I had stood and didn t follow the mats on the floor. Made sure there was 3 steps in between me and the dog on final show pose. Smartly dressed and very polite boy. Very well deserverved! BJH 2nd-Lauren Davis- Such a confident handler and had a lot of hard work with such a big dog. Did patterns correct and made some very straight lines. Needs to be careful when showing the teeth with such long nails. Lost it to not knowing were the loin was on the dog. Was another very smart handler and was also very polite.
