12 Judges Critique SKC (MAY) CH SHOW, 20/05/16 - Dalmatians All winners were black spotted unless otherwise stated PD (5) 1 Goodswen s Alphadal s King Of Angels, 8 months, very well balanced & a healthy combination of masculine promise with quality. Clean head, excellent angles, well ribbed with good bone, optimum angulation throughout, not the most clearly furnished but there is more to a Dalmatian than perfect spots. Moves with freedom & scope, if a little close behind. In the dog challenge nothing pleased me more so he won his first CC & BP. Has great potential; 2 Whincup s Tamilanda Midnight Lilly, 6½ months, classy head, well marked, moves out with good reach & drive but needs to tighten in front & again a little close behind; 3 Croft & Cobb-McGill s Kalokairie s Bullet Proof. JD (4) 1 Christie s Sophtspot Gold Dust, 16 months liver, excellent size & shape, very well balanced & in hard condition. Clean head, moderate angles front & back, firm backline, nicely marked. Goes around with scope & power, just needs to tighten in front; 2 Baker s Buffrey Incognito by Dalleaf, 13 months, no mistaking his sex & in pristine condition. Masculine head but in no way coarse, slightly darker eye would enhance expression. A little softer in topline than 1 & needs to develop in forechest as he should with maturity. Moves with great power, slightly high tail carriage; 3 Neilson s Bariscot Aristarchus Moonet. YD (3) 1 B Aristarchus Moonet, 12 months, excellent type & size, quality head that still needs to break, well spotted, beautifully conditioned, rather short in upper arm & needs to develop in forechest but moves around with style & energy; 2 Hopkin & Hobbs Rapanooey Rasputin, 18 months, very scopy but longer coupled than 1. Pleasing head, a little straighter behind than 1 but covers the ground well. Well marked; 3 Quayle s Cubalibre On It. PGD (4) 1 R Rasputin; 2 Croft & Cobb-McGill s Koroyza Agent Provocateur with Kalokairie, heavier all through than 1 & more heavily spotted. Balanced head, clean outline, moves true enough up & down but could have a little more scope in profile. Tail carriage could be more relaxed; 3 Thompson & Boagey s Dalamanti Black Moon. LD (5) 1 Wright s Millbelle Lithium, somewhat lighter spotted but won the class on his overall honesty. Quality head, lively expression, well balanced outline with impressive angles. One of the best movers up & down, goes around with enthusiasm. Well deserved the RCC; 2 Vockings & Smethurst s Portunes Green Day, liver who looked the winner when the class first assembled. Very moderate all through, excellent type, nicely marked with quality bone & a pleasant head. Slightly steeper in croup than 1 & came on rather untidily; 3 Page s Winflash Hugo Boss. OD (3) 1 Whincup s Ch Tamilanda Panther Lilly, fit, athletic & outgoing, nicely marked & full of quality. Classy head, good angles front & back, moves around with style & has a natural presence on the stack, but comes on rather wide; 2 Dodds & Pearson s Kelevra What The Dickens, the best mover up & down in the class & even though his spotting could be more distinctive he could have won the class if he d put on a more extrovert performance. Masculine head with quality, very balanced outline & hard as nails; 3 Hobbs & Whiting s Boutonneux Baby Buco avec Rapanooey. VD (1) 1 Dodds & Pearson s Kelevra Hudson Hawk, 7 years, nicely balanced & excellent type all through. Quality head, well marked & in lovely nick, he moved around with style & power, if a little wide coming on. PB (8) 1 Whincup s Tamilanda Pick-A-Lilly, 6 months & very composed for her age. Such a promising head, very well spotted & her basic construction impresses. In pristine condition, she was by far the best mover in the class but needs to watch her tail carriage which can be a little high; 2 Page s Winflash Prada Candy Kiss, 9 months & I thought at first she would win the class in a heartbeat as she catches the eye & holds it on the stack & the go around. Beautiful outline, excellent head, so well spotted & great personality. I just hope with maturity she tightens in front as she came on disappointingly untidily; 3 Page s Vivienne Westwood by Winflash. JB (2) 1 Christie s Sophtspot Glitterati, very classy & full of type, looked a picture going around as she has great scope & carriage & her static outline is very impressive. Pleasing head, quality bone but a manicure would improve. Movement up & down could be more accurate but she is a real quality package; 2 Pratt s Dunnydals Cape Primrose, 10 months liver of good basic type but with some constructional issues that reflect in her movement. Topline & hindquarters are a concern but she has a decent head & is quite well marked. PGB (9) 1 Dore s Daldior Miss Hula Hula Girl, lithe, athletic, utterly feminine & without question the best mover in the class, Page 12/13

13 particularly up & down. Quality head, not overly spotted, well angulated throughout & showed with enthusiasm; 2 Valentine s Sophtspot Evolution, heavier spotted but has lots to appreciate as far as general type, construction & balance go. Looked a picture going around but disappointed coming at me; 3 Barrett s Dalamanti Ice Ruby. LB (5) 1 Neath-Duggan s Buffrey Hey Diddle Diddle, essentially feminine, full of quality & pleased in overall type. Pleasing head, balanced outline & nicely marked. Beautifully conditioned, moved with style but could have just had a little more fluidity in front in the class. Interestingly when she returned for the challenge & had moved a lot more she seemed to improve in her scope & ended up winning the RCC; 2 Finlay s Dvojica Black Swan at Dalfin, another class act who pushed hard. Well spotted perfectly balanced with type & quality. Moved quite well but a slightly low tailset tends to detract from the overall picture on the go around; 3 Marley & Libbey s Dalissm s Love Magic of Bellili. OB (6) 1 Dodds & Pearson s Ir Ch Kelevra Classic Cliché, this bitch is a fine example of the beauty of moderation as everything fits & she is devoid of exaggeration. Feminine head of good proportions, nicely marked & beautifully conditioned. Totally balanced in conformation & this is reflected in her excellent movement as she looked as if she could go around all day. The more she went, the better she went & ended up winning her third CC, BOB & later G3 under Derek Smith; 2 Quayle s Cubalibre Follow On, another quality bitch who moves well, moderately spotted, well conditioned, excellent angles front & back but can soften in topline a shade & a little narrower in skull than 1; 3 Petersen s Ch Daedalus Cliff Angel. VB (1) 1 Barrett s Marricdale The Gold Digger of Dalamanti, 8 years liver full of youthful enthusiasm, good basic type, nicely marked, feet could be neater & movement more coordinated.
