The first entry for Obedience or Rally each day is $29 and additional entries for Obedience or Rally the same day are $23 OBEDIENCE First entry of each dog/ each day... $29.00 Additional entry of same dog each day... $23.00 (includes 50 cent AKC Recording Fee and $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee) RALLY First entry of each dog/ each day... $29.00 Additional entry of same dog each day... $23.00 (Includes $3.00 AKC recording Fee for each entry) JUNIOR HANDLERS DISCOUNT ENTRY FEES Junior Handlers entry fees will be discounted by 50% in both Obedience and Rally provided the Junior Handler s AKC Handler number is listed on the entry form. A free Junior Handler identification number may be obtained by calling the AKC at (919) TRANSFERS Obedience and Rally Transfers will be allowed per current AKC regulations. Forms will be available at the Trial Secretary s Desk. BREED TROPHIES A prize will be awarded to the highest scoring dog with a qualifying score in each breed (varieties excluded) represented GROUP TROPHIES A prize will be awarded to the highest scoring dog with a qualifying score in each AKC Group (Includes Miscellaneous) SPECIAL TROPHIES Anyone eligible for any award listed below must sign up with the Trophy Chairman prior to the start of judging of the class in which he/she is competing. A sign up sheet will be found on the Trial Secretary Table. A prize will be awarded for each of the following: HS AKC Champion of Record HS Dog with an AKC Agility Title HS Dog with a Herding Title HS Dog with an AKC Tracking Title HS Sighthound with an AKC Lure Coursing Title HS Dog with an AKC Therapy Dog Title HS Dog Registered with the AKC Canine Partners Program HS Scoring Dog Registered Through FSS HS Super Senior Handler (70 & over) All Prizes will be presented at the trial and must be picked up at that time; none will be mailed. A complete list of donors will appear in the catalog NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS OBEDIENCE AND RALLY TRIAL RULES 1. Fees must accompany entries. Sandia Dog Obedience Club assumes no responsibility for incomplete or inaccurate information on the entry form or for a dog being entered in a class for which it is not eligible. 2. Entries must be on the most current official American Kennel Club entry form. Conditional, unsigned, incomplete, telephone, facsimile or ed entries will not be accepted. 3. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. A withdrawal from the trial after the closing date due to an injury or illness to the dog will be eligible for a refund up to 75% of the total entry fee paid. A veterinarian s note will be required for the refund to be issued. Bitches in season are not allowed to compete in obedience or rally trials. As such, the club will refund 100% per day of the entry fee paid for bitches unable to compete for this reason. In order to receive either refund, the trial secretary must be notified no later than one half hour prior to the start of the first class in the trial. 4. All mail must be addressed to the Trial Secretary s address. Priority and Express mail must be sent with a waiver of signature requirements. 5. Acknowledgement of entry received will be sent to the address listed on the entry form, Provided that said address is legible. All final confirmations and Judging Programs will also be sent via Sandia Dog Obedience Club is not responsible for the loss or damage to any dog exhibited, whether it results from an accident or other cause. It is to be clearly understood that every dog at this trial is in the care, custody and control of the owner or his/her agent at all times. 7. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging 8. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring at the appropriate time. It is not the responsibility of the ring steward or any other officer or agent of the club to locate any dog for judging 9. Class placement ribbons and prizes will be awarded in the judging rings to the person exhibiting the dog, who will be considered to be the owner or agent of the owner. Prizes awarded for competition between classes will be awarded after completion of judging all classes at the trial. All prizes must be picked up the day of the trial; none will be mailed In the event of a tie score for any award, it will be the responsibility of the handler to have the dog available for a runoff. Any dog not present for the runoff forfeits its right to the award. 11. No double handling will be permitted at this trial. Individuals who attempt to double handle from outside the ring will be subject to action by the Trial Committee 12. The Trial Committee reserves the right to cancel the trial in the event of extreme weather conditions as per AKC directive dated July 23, Members and officers of the SDOC and the Trial Committee, as well as their family members, will be allowed to show dogs at these trials. 14. All Obedience and Rally rings at this site are on packed dirt under a covered roof. Do not park or set up crates or exercise pens in the fire zone. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RESTROOMS OR ON THE GRASS AREA IN FRONT OF THE POSSE CLUB HOUSE. ALL EXHIBITORS ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS AT THIS TRIAL SITE. THOSE FAILING TO DO SO WILL BE SUBJECT TO OFFICIAL ACTION THERE IS AMPLE AREA AROUND THE ARENA TO EXERCISE DOGS MOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Sandia Dog Obedience Club makes no guarantee that motel policy will be the same on the day of the trial. When traveling with a pet, you should always recheck the pet policy. PLEASE clean up after your dogs, and do not leave them unattended in the motel room. 4 RV PARKING RV Parking will be available on site. There is a designated parking area for RVs on the south side of the arena, with a limited number of hookups available on a first-come, first serve basis. Dry camping is free but there is a $25.00 fee for hookups. The Sheriff s Posse Grounds will be available for RV Parking at any time on Friday, August 31 st. Choose a space and the site manager will be around to collect fees. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his/her name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to the AKC. (For complete rules, refer to Chapter 11, Section 3.) 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience, and Rally trials should mark Breed as All-American Dog/Mixed Breed. Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
