4 Notice To Exhibitors No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. PLEASE PRINT OR TYPE ENTRY FORMS to help insure correct spelling of names! Dogs may arrive any time prior to the time of judging. Dogs no longer required for further judging will be excused. The Show giving club, the Show Secretary, their agents or employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assumes no responsibility for injury to any child not under the control of their parents or guardians. All trophies must be claimed in the ring. No trophies will be mailed. No Dogs will be allowed in the Show Area except those regularly entered in the show. There will be no space for unentered dogs at this show. Notify the Show Secretary at (510) if you do not receive acknowledgment one week before the show. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if an entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Only AKC titles may be printed in the show catalog. Dogs must be kept crated or penned at all times while in the hotel rooms at the Hotel. ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED in event of errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date and time, nor in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, in season, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by the Show Committee. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, fire, Act of God, strikes, extreme weather conditions (including but not limited to extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, lightning, or earthquakes), or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. This Club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry form for this event. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Host Hotel - Holiday Inn 6680 Regional Street, Dublin, CA Reservations: (925) The Holiday Inn has provided us with a room rate of $ per night for single or double. There is a $50.00 one-time pet fee per room. Call the Hotel directly at (925) and mention Yorkshire Terrier Club of Northern California. Reservations must be received by October 3, 2018 to receive this rate. Dogs must be crated or penned at all times while in the room. Please keep it clean and do not use the hotel towels for your dogs. ROOM SHARING - If you are interested in sharing a room you can leave your name with Lilly Green and she will maintain a list for exhibitors to contact each other. PARKING OVERNIGHT: The Holiday Inn has stated that no one will be allowed to sleep overnight in their motor homes (city ordinance). They are welcome to bring them to the show during the day, but only registered guests will be allowed to park at night. It is approximately three miles from the specialty show site Alameda County Fairgrounds, and where the All-Breed Shows are being held Friday, Saturday, Sunday. FROM HWY 580 GOING EASTBOUND, take Foothill/San Ramon Road exit. Loop under the freeway, and head north on San Ramon Road. Turn right at signal onto Dublin Blvd. Take first right onto Regional Street and follow to the hotel at end of street on right. FROM HWY 580 GOING WESTBOUND, take Foothill/San Ramon Road exit. Turn right onto San Ramon Road, then right on Dublin Blvd, and right onto Regional Street. FROM HWY 680 EITHER DIRECTION, take the 580-West and immediately exit onto Foothill/San Ramon Road. Turn right onto San Ramon Road, right onto Dublin Blvd, and right onto Regional Street. Grooming & Crating Equipment Due to the airlines constraints on baggage, we will try to provide necessary equipment such as exercise pens or grooming tables. Your request should be made in advance to Barbara Fink at (812) or Barbara at pfink10229@aol.com. Equipment will be limited, but we will do our best to accommodate you. While crates and grooming equipment will be allowed in designated areas and equipment may be left there during the show period, it is strictly understood that neither YTCNC, the Show Secretary, nor the Hotel will be responsible in any way for lost, stolen or damaged property or dogs. You do so entirely at your own risk. Please stack crates and conserve space in consideration of others. And please mark the top of each crate with the phone number where you can be reached should any problems arise in your absence. Best of Breed Competition The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record. Dogs which according to their owners' records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner's records. If, at the end of the 90 day period the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC. Grand Champion Select Dog and Select Bitch At the judge s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to: Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Select Dog, and Select Bitch. Dogs eligible for Grand Champion competition are Champions competing in BOB, move-ups to BOB, and Champions that win Non-Regular classes and become eligible for BOB. Altered or spayed CH veterans are eligible at independent specialties. Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are NOT eligible. Award of Merit One Award of Merit offered for every three (3) Champions entered in Best of Breed, to be awarded at Judge s discretion to recognize superior quality. Owner-Handled Best of Breed This event qualifies for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series. Exhibitor MUST check the Owner-Handled checkbox on the AKC Entry Form to be eligible. See information on Page 7. Best Puppy in Regular Classes (PM Only) To be chosen from the first place winners of the Puppy 6-9 and 9-12 Dog and Bitch classes. If a Best Puppy entrant is awarded BOB or BOW, it is automatically awarded Best Puppy. Offered at Afternoon Show only. Best Bred By Exhibitor To be chosen from the first place winners of the Bred By Exhibitor Dog and Bitch classes. The entry must be handled by the Breeder. If a Best Bred By entrant is awarded BOB or BOW, it is automatically awarded Best Bred By Exhibitor. Offered at both Morning and Afternoon Shows. 6 National Owner-Handler Series Determining Eligibility: * Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. * The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC s records as of the date of the show. * Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the steward s book and in the show catalog. * Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may not exhibit. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. * Dogs must be handled by an owner-handler eligible for AKC NOHS throughout the breed level competition for the regular show. This includes the class competition and subsequent competition in the breed ring. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner-handler for all AKC NOHS competition. * The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in the Best of Breed/Variety competition for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeated during class and winners competition for the regular show. Determining Owner-Handled Best of Breed * Breed judging for OH Best of Breed is conducted following Best of Breed judging in the ring. All dogs in BOB competition (including WD & WB) will stay in the ring after the judge makes their placements. The ring steward will ask all professional handlers, household members, and current assistants to a professional handler, and any exhibitor that did not indicate on their entry that they were eligible for NOHS to leave the ring. The judge will then select the Owner-Handled Best of Breed. A dog being cut or otherwise defeated in the BOB ring remains eligible to compete for Owner-Handled Best of Breed. Parade of Champions Afternoon Specialty Only For Yorkshire Terriers over six months that are AKC Champions of Record. This class is a non-competitive exhibition class and each entrant in the Parade will receive a rosette. Use the Official AKC Entry Form to enter and indicate Parade as the class, see Page 2 for Entry Fees. Full particulars (Reg#, Birthdate, Breeder, Sire, Dam) should be given for each dog even if Parade is the only entry for the dog. Feedback!!! Sweepstakes Offered with Morning Specialty Only Sweepstakes are open to all Yorkshire Terriers 6 months to under 18 months of age who are also entered in the Regular Classes. Sweepstakes entries should be on the same entry form for a Regular class, indicating Sweepstakes in the space for Additional Classes. The Sweepstakes fee is $15.00 per entry plus the appropriate entry fee for the Regular Class. The Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Morning Regular Classes. All AKC Rules applying to the Regular Classes apply to the Sweepstakes. Sweepstakes Limitations: No dogs that are Champions of Record as of the day of the Specialty, or dogs who have earned enough championship points to have finished their championship according to their owners records, are allowed to compete in Sweepstakes. You will find a fillable PDF form online at into which you can type your dog s information. The procedure is: 1. Go to Click on Upcoming Events. Click on Yorkshire Terrier Club of Northen California event. Download the YTCNC Fillable Entry Form and save it with a new unique name. 2. Type in the fields for your dog s information, including the classes you wish to enter. Check the box(es) to indicate the morning show, the afternoon show, or both. 3. Check the AGREE AND CERTIFY checkbox to agree to the liability agreement printed on the form.
