Fitting for any species must be completed by exhibitor only. Teaching by example is permitted, but the exhibitor must complete the majority of all fitting. ~ 1st Offense Verbal Warning ~ 2nd Offense Exhibit and exhibitor will be disqualified 2. Youth age as of Jan. 1 current year: Jr = 8-10, Int = 11-13, Sr = 14 and up 4H & FFA LIVESTOCK BEEF (Division 2) Bangs tags are required on all female bovine. 6 Cow/Calf pairs will be penned in the equine barn Showmanship (Catch-It Calf, FFA, Jr, Int, Sr), Market, Pen of 3, Cotton-n-Cream, Breeding, Cow/Calf BEEF SHOWMANSHIP (DIV 2.1) ~ Any 4H or FFA Member is eligible. 4H & FFA Members are allowed to help. ~ Judging will be on the basis of contestant s ability to: 1-present their animal for judging including movement and positioning of the animal; 2- condition and cleanliness of the animal relating to being ready-to-show; 3- mannerisms and conduct of the showman. ~ No boars, stallions, bucks, or bulls will be allowed in Showmanship classes. ~ Members entering Showmanship MUST OWN, use their animal and be carrying BEEF as their project. ~ Disqualification for parental help in grooming is done before the class is judged. ~ Showmanship must be pre-entered online by entry deadline. 13 MARKET BEEF (Division 2.2) PEN OF THREE MARKET BEEF (Div 2.3) Premiums: 1 st $ nd $15.00 ~ No more than one pen per immediate family and/or one pen per club may enter this class. ~ Only fair tagged market animals can make-up a pen. There must be exactly three animals in a pen. ~ The animals will be brought into the show ring and animals in the pen will stand right beside each other. ~ Each pen of three will be allowed one additional handler to help set up and exhibit the pen. All handlers must be 4H or FFA members. ~ Pens will be judged on overall appearance, uniformity and market animal quality. The Household Pet cat is a mixed breed or unknown descent. 2. A purebred cat is one belonging to a recognized breed with characteristics maintained through generations of unmixed descent; may be registered with a recognized registry. 3. Kittens must be at least 4 months old and not older than 8 months of age. Adult cats are older than 8 months of age. Because of susceptibility to disease, no kitten under 4 months of age will be accepted for competition. 4. No pregnant or nursing cats may be entered. 5. All cats and kittens must have their claws clipped. Declawed cats may enter the show and will not be counted down for declawing. 6. Do not enter your cat if you feel it will not be easily handled by the judge. 7. Each cat or kitten must be wearing a harness or collar (not a safety collar) and a leash. The exhibitor must always wear the leash on their wrist for safety reasons. 8. Exhibitors must furnish their own carpet square during judging. Exhibitors must provide a proper cage or carrier for their cats/kittens. Exhibitors must bring their own litter and litter box. 9. All exhibitors should wear long sleeve shirts or blouses with trousers or skirts. No shorts allowed HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 14 Cats must have current rabies and distemper shots. It is strongly 15 suggested, but not mandatory, that all entries have the combination vaccinations, plus feline leukemia. Vaccinations should not be received within three weeks prior to the show. Health Certificates are required prior to entering the grounds. Cats found to be ill or with parasites (fleas, ear mites, etc.) will not be allowed to show and will be dismissed from the grounds No cat or kitten may enter the show if there is any (feline) 19 infectious or contagious disease in the household within 3 weeks prior to the show date. * Shot records must be attached to health inspection Youth age as of Jan. 1 current year: Jr = 8-10, Int = 11-13, Sr = 14 and up Exhibitors may only enter 2 animals per class. Only dogs entered in show will be allowed on fairgrounds. 2. Any person observed abusing their dog in or out of the show ring, will be excused from the grounds. 3. Any dog posing a threat to either humans or other dogs will be excused from the grounds. 4. All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations including: rabies, Bordetella, distemper parvo. *Shot records must be attached to health inspection 5. All dogs must be on a leash (excluding competition) and under control at all times. Dogs must not be taken near the stock barns. 6. Once judging is completed, all dogs must be removed from the Fairgrounds. 7. Purebred dogs do not need to be registered. 8. All dogs must be at least 6 months of age by May 1st to compete at state 4H dog show, and at least 1 year old by May 1st for agility classes. 9. A dog receiving a qualifying score of at least 170 pts., may advance the following year to the next higher class but must advance after receiving 3 qualifying scores. Once the higher level of obedience is selected for the dog, the member may not drop back to the lower level with the same dog. 10. Judging of classes will follow 4H Dog Show Guidelines. 11. Showmanship (Jr, Int, Sr), Conformation, 13 Open B (off leash) For dogs that have received a 1 st level Obedience, Agility, Rally DOG SHOWMANSHIP (Division 4.1) 14 Utility B (off leash) For dogs that have received a 2 nd level H Junior Dog 4H Intermediate Dog 4H Senior Dog obedience Title from another organization. 19 ~ A 4H member may compete in only one obedience class per dog with a total maximum of 2 entries (dogs). The first dog is referred to as A dog. The second is referred to as B dog for class entries. ~ The first-year class is for members who are in their first year of the dog project, not the first year beginner novice with a new dog. It is designed as a training class for members who do not feel competent to start in the On Leash class. Members may compete in the first-year class only once. ~ An exhibitor who competes in the A group with their 1st dog stays in the A group with that dog for each level. Members advance, from On Leash A to Novice A or from On Leash B to Novice B. The same is true for the B groups and levels. ~ A 4H handler with a dog shown previously in obedience classes by another 4H handler or Obedience Title must show the dog by these guidelines. a. Junior/Intermediate 4H'ers may move back or down one level. b. Senior 4H'ers must show the dog at the highest level it has achieved. ~ A dog receiving a qualifying score of at least 170 points at county fair may advance the following year to the next higher class but must advance after receiving 3 qualifying scores. Once the higher level of obedience is selected for the dog, the member may not drop back to the lower level with the same dog. ~ Score Sheets: The Wyoming 4H dog score sheets were designed for the benefit of 4H Members. They are intended as guides for judges. Judges use their discretion in deciding the seriousness of errors. ~ All exhibitors must enter/leave the show ring and compete with a 6 foot leash. ~ Dogs soiling in the ring will be disqualified. ~ Males and females will be shown in the same class. Females in heat will be shown last and must be kept away from the obedience ring until call time. ~ Open and Utility - Youth handler must provide their own dumbbell. obedience Title from another organization but have not received a 2 nd level obedience title.

5 4H & FFA LIVESTOCK DOGS (Division 4) DOG CONFORMATION (Division 4.2) Sporting Group 50 ~ All dogs must enter/leave the ring on leash. ~ Classes will be subdivided by breeds within a class, if numbers warrant. First place winner in classes will compete for the Best-in-Show Trophy in conformation. ~ Exhibitors entering more than one dog in any class may be assisted only by another 4H Member, if the dogs must be shown at the same time. ~ Classes will be judged according to AKC standard, but it is not necessary that dogs be registered; they must be purebred (both animal parents of the same breed). ~ Classes 20 and 21 are for crossbred dogs (parents of different breeds) and will be judged according to the predominant breed characteristics and/or soundness, gait, condition and grooming. ~ Before entering your dog check the list of breeds that are eligible for each group. Advancements are allowed after one qualifying score to the next level. After 3 qualifying scores in Level 1, 2 and 3 advancement to the next level is mandatory. Same day advancement is not allowed from one level to another level. ~ All dogs must enter/leave the ring on leash. ~ Level 1 dogs will run on a leash. Level 2 dogs run off leash or with a tab no longer than 6 inches. These will be available for any exhibitor to post directly above their animals that will be muzzled, for transparency and understanding of animal husbandry to the public. 2. All goats MUST have scrapie identification prior to entering the fairgrounds. 3. Fitting for any species must be completed by exhibitor only. Hair may be left up to the hocks on knees only. ~ Exhibitors are allowed halters and collars in showing their market goats. ~ Members MUST OWN their animal & be carrying GOAT as a project. ~ There will be only one weigh-in per animal. Open class and youth breeding classes will be shown simultaneously in the show ring, thus an animal may only be entered or shown once in open or once in a youth class The Fair Board has the right to disqualify any entry considered harmful to Fair Attendees. All 2018 entries are due online by July 20th at 11:59 PM. Any live animal needing to be entered after this deadline will be charged $50 per entry up to the close of set weighin time for that market animal species, the start time of the breeding livestock, or horse show being entered in. After notifying show superintendent, classes entered incorrectly may be switched within the same division prior to start of livestock show, horse show, or static exhibit judging. Any static exhibit entered late will be charged $10 per entry up to the time the exhibit is due for judging. NO parents may ride horses that are entered in the shows on the grounds. When a 4H Member needs assistance, a parent or leader may help check tack and hold a horse prior to the exhibitor entering the show ring. Three calls will be given for each class. The class will be closed after three calls. Member will be denied entry into the class if not present for the last call into the ring. Questions in the absence of specific rules shall be governed by the Fair Board. NO Stallions will be shown in any 4H or FFA class regardless of age. In referring to a horse s age, their birthday should be considered as being January 1 of the year in which they were born, and it then becomes a year old on January 1 of the following year. For example: a horse foaled any time during 2016 will be a yearling on Jan. 1, 2017 and a two-year old on Jan. 1, The gate must be closed during speed events. (Time will be started after gate is closed.) All 4H members must have passed a Safety Certification test through 4H for every event they are participating in with the horse they will be using for that event. Failure to pass a Safety Certification test will disqualify members from participation in that event. Every horse shall be treated humanely and with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times. All rules of the current Wyoming 4H Horse Rule Book apply unless superseded by specific rules herein. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and offending exhibitor will forfeit premiums and may immediately be dismissed from the Fairgrounds. Members will only be able to enter a class two times with different horses. Only one set of points per class would be used to determine the High Points Award. High Points Awards will be figured on the rider, not the horse. Blue 3 pts/red 2 pts/white 1pt. High points are given for juniors, intermediates, and seniors. Halter class will not count towards high point award. Members will not need to show in order of age (junior, intermediate, and senior) during events. Open class and youth breeding classes will be shown simultaneously in the show ring, thus an animal may only be entered or shown once in open or once in a youth class.
