Purchase Price: Breeder will sell Buyer the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Puppy described below for $2, Any deposits previously made to Breeder from Buyer will be deducted from the purchase price. C. 2 D. Health Guarantee: 1. Breeder guarantees that the puppy is in good health and free of disease at the time of purchase. Buyer agrees to have the puppy checked by their veterinarian of choice within 72 hours of purchasing the puppy. If any health issues are identified, Breeder reserves the right to have the puppy re-examined by their veterinarian. Breeder will reimburse Buyer for the cost of any medications to treat the puppy for illness but will not pay for the veterinary visit. Buyer may return the puppy to Breeder and receive a full refund of the purchase price within 24 hours of confirmation of a health issue. 2. Breeder guarantees the puppy against any genetic diseases and defects for two years from the puppy s date of birth. Confirmation of any genetic diseases or defects found by Buyer s veterinarian will be confirmed by Breeder s veterinarian. Breeder will pay for treatment required for the dog up to the purchase price of the puppy or Buyer may return the dog to the Breeder and receive another puppy from the next available litter. There are no refunds given to the Buyer if a dog is returned, except as stated under item D.1 above. This health guarantee is null and void if Buyer fails to adhere to the nutrition, vaccination, spay/neutering, and exercise protocols included in this Contract as Attachment A. E. Microchip Registration: Buyer agrees to register the puppy s microchip within one week of receiving the puppy. F. Care and Treatment of Dog: Buyer agrees to provide proper care and shelter for the life of the dog. Buyer agrees that the dog will never be sheltered on tethered outside. Buyer agrees that the dog will receive proper veterinary care throughout his life. Buyer agrees that the dog will not be neglected or mistreated in any way. G. Nutrition and Vaccinations: Buyer agrees to follow the Nutrition guidelines and Vaccination Protocol outlined in Attachment A. Failure to follow adhere to them will render the health guarantee null and void. H. Return of Puppy/Dog: Buyer may return the puppy/dog to Breeder at any time throughout the life of the dog. Breeder will either keep or re-home the dog. If the dog is re-homed, any money received for the dog by the Breeder will be given to the Buyer, less boarding and rehoming expenses. Breeder will not refund money to Buyer by any other means for the return of a dog/puppy. I. Transfer of Ownership: Buyer agrees that ownership, housing, and care of the dog will not be transferred to any other Party for the life of the dog without written consent from the Breeder. J. Spay/Neutering: If the puppy is sold on a limited registration, Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed or neutered between 18 and 24 months of age and provide proof of Spay/Neutering to Breeder. If the puppy is spayed or neutered before 18 months of age, unless required for the health of the dog due to a medical condition, the Health Guarantee as described in Item D.2 above will be null and void.

3 K. Puppies with Limited Registration: Puppies sold on limited registration may not be used for breeding. If Buyer at any time feels that their dog constitutes good breeding stock for Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Breeder may, at their discretion, lift the limited registration and allow the dog to have full AKC registration. L. Change of Address: Buyer agrees to notify Breeder of any change of address for the life of the dog. M. Rebates: Breeder will reimburse Buyer $50 for each of the following, up to a maximum of $300.00, after receiving proof of each accomplishment from the Buyer. Completion of Puppy Kindergarten Completion of any dog training classes Achieving Canine Good Citizenship Title (CGC) Obtaining any performance title Obtaining Conformation Championship N. Breeder Support: Breeder agrees to provide support for the Buyer by answering questions and offering advice to Buyer for the life of the dog. Breeder encourages Buyer to maintain a relationship with Breeder for the life of the dog. We like to know how our puppies are doing and we love getting pictures! No guarantees or warranties, expressed or implied, are given by Breeder except those stated herein. This Contract will follow the laws and regulations in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Any disputes will be resolved in Lancaster County Pennsylvania courts. Breeder warrants and agrees that they are the lawful owner of this puppy and are alone responsible for entering into this contract with the Buyer. Breeder Breeder Buyer Buyer

4 SwissKiss Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs Puppy Purchase Contract Attachment A Nutrition We recommend that you keep the puppy on the same food we send home with the puppy until the puppy reaches 12 months of age. If you change the puppy s food during this time, choose a food that follows these guidelines: Protein: 23 28% from at least two different sources Fat: 9 15% Calories: per cup Calcium: % Phosphorus: 0.8 1% Calcium/Phosphorus Ratio: 1:1 1.3:1 Trace Minerals: Chelated or sequestered minerals (look for kelp, seaweed, or barley grass in ingredients) Probiotics on the food (or supplement with probiotics) Labeled as human grade, human edible, or organic Labeled as naturally preserved We are not opposed to raw diets for puppies, but if you do not have extensive knowledge and experience with raw food diets, we discourage using them. You are required to advise us if you use a raw food diet for your puppy. You must feed your puppy to achieve slow, sustained growth and do not allow him to become even the least bit overweight. A Swissy Puppy should look thin. His ribs should be easily felt. You should never see a belly on a young Swissy. Care must be taken not to over nourish the puppy. Feeding too much of the appropriate food can have the same result as feeding the wrong food. Constantly monitor your puppy s body condition and adjust food portions to keep him slim. Be sure to count the kibble you use as training treats as part of your puppy s daily ration. Avoid giving any treats containing calcium. Your puppy should remain on this nutrition regimen until 12 months of age. Failure to follow these nutrition guidelines for your puppy may result in orthopedic problems and will render all health guarantees null and void.

5 Conservative Vaccination Protocol We believe in a conservative vaccination protocol and require our puppy buyers to adhere to the same protocol. Failure to do so will nullify all health guarantees. Parvo/Distemper Vaccine Your puppy will receive his first Parvo/Distemper vaccine at 8 weeks of age, before you take him home. After receiving the first Parvo/Distemper vaccine, your puppy is not fully protected and great care must be taken to prevent exposing him to disease. Do not let your puppy walk anywhere where other dogs have walked. Do not let your puppy walk into the vet s office to get his 2 nd immunization or for any other reason. Either put him in a crate or carry him in your arms, but do not let his paws touch the floor. Visitors to your home should be asked to remove their shoes and leave them outside, and wash their hands before handling your puppy. Do not let anyone visit your puppy if they have an animal that is ill or has recently been ill. Do not let your puppy near any animals who have not been fully vaccinated. Do not take your puppy to puppy kindergarten until he s received the 2 nd Parvo/Distemper vaccine. After the 2 nd vaccine, the puppy may still not be protected and you must continue to exercise caution to protect him from exposure to disease. You can take him to puppy kindergarten, provided the facility maintains a clean, hygienic environment in the puppy training area. Do not allow your puppy to walk near, or go potty on, the designated potty area at the training facility. Take him somewhere else to potty. Please wait until one week after the 2 nd Parvo/Distemper vaccine to take your puppy to a puppy kindergarten. After receiving the vaccine, your puppy s immune system is weakened for about one week, so it is wise to give him a week to recover. Parvo/Distemper Vaccination Schedule When you make an appointment with your vet for his Parvo/Distemper vaccination, be clear that you want Parvo/Distemper (MLV) only. Many vets use 4 and 5 way combination shots that include other vaccines that are not to be given to your Swissy. Make sure your vet carries the single injections for just Parvo/Distemper beforehand and ask to read the vial before it s injected into your puppy. Your puppy will receive the first Parvo/Distemper vaccination at 8 weeks of age. Follow this schedule for completing vaccinations: 2 nd Parvo/Distemper at 12 weeks of age. 3 rd Parvo/Distemper at 16 weeks of age. Parvo/Distemper booster at months of age, or titer at months of age

6 After your dog has received the above immunizations, DO NOT repeat annual Parvo/Distemper vaccinations. The immunization your dog has now will most likely last his lifetime and there is no point in administering unnecessary vaccines that can compromise your dog s health and immune system. Instead of administering more vaccines, run a titer on your dog every 1 3 years to test his level of his immunity. We have NEVER had to repeat this vaccine for our dogs. If your veterinarian insists on repeating Parvo/Distemper vaccinations every year or every 3 years, find another vet! Rabies Give the Rabies vaccine at 6 months of age and again at 18 months of age. Make sure it is given at least 4 weeks after the Parvo/Distemper booster. After that, give the rabies vaccine every 3 years as required by state laws. DO NOT EVER GIVE ANY VACCINE WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF ANY OTHER VACCINE DO NOT EVER GIVE THESE VACCINES TO YOUR SWISSY: Corona Leptospirosis Lyme Giardia Bordetella* *Bordetella (kennel cough) is required by some boarding facilities. If it s absolutely necessary, you can give the intra nasal bordetella vaccine to your dog 3 days before boarding. It will last for 6 months. DO NOT routinely give this vaccine and if you must board your dog, finding a facility that doesn t require this vaccination would be even better.
