1 JANUARY 2016 Happy New Year Welcome to the January Journal. This month sees the reintroduction of the Junior Warrant listing. This has been brought back to the Journal by popular demand. The event was held in London on the 24 November and the Kennel Club was up against around 25 other companies. It was a great achievement, particularly as it is an industry award and the judging is undertaken by those who really know what good communication is all about. There was strong competition but the panel of 25 judges all experts in their field said the Kennel Club s crisis response was comprehensive throughout and executed well, it was impressive work with no external communications help. Thanks also go to the huge amount of support given to the press team from within the Kennel Club including the Kennel Club Marketing, Events and Health teams. The Kennel Club Press Team

17 2018 CC ALLOCATION ALLOCATION OF CHAMPIONSHIP STATUS 2018 The Kennel Club has decided that the allocation for 2018 should be based on that of 2017 subject to changes to the breed club allocation due to rotations and the addition of a small number of sets of Challenge Certificates being added. No breed will have its allocation reduced. Three sets of additional have been allocated to breed clubs to hold a championship show for the first time Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla C of GB, Pennine & Scottish French Bulldog Assn and a set of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever has been allocated to the United Retriever Club. The Flat Coated Retriever joint breed clubs championship show has been rescinded and the set of re-allocated to the now eligible Southern Flat Coated Retriever Club for its first championship show. The Dog Show Promotion Working Party is continuing its work on reviewing the allocation of across all breeds and will in the coming months be announcing the results of its review. The compete allocation to all clubs and societies is outlined on pages and will remain dependent on the club or society concerned running satisfactory shows in the coming years. Club/society secretaries are advised that all licence application forms and other relevant documents for their 2018 shows have been dispatched.
