5 Judging List Criteria A1 List: For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. (KC Policy) A2 List: For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 List and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 List and have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. (KC Policy) A3 List (Breed Specialists): For persons who are recommended as being suitable to award CCs in Dachshunds but not yet approved by the Kennel Club for inclusion onto the A2 List and have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. Criteria. 1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. (KC Policy). 2. To have judged at 2 Breed Club and/or Breed Club Supported Entry Shows, for 2 different Breed Clubs. 3. To have judged a minimum of 300 dogs (KC Policy) 4. To have judged a minimum of 100 classes. 5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations & Judging Procedures. (KC Policy as of ) 6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation & Movement. (KC Policy as of ) 7. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. (KC Policy) A3 List (Non-Specialists): For persons who are recommended as being suitable to award CCs in Dachshunds but not yet approved by the Kennel Club for inclusion onto the A2 List and have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. Criteria. 1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in Dachshunds) and have the support of the UK Dachshund Clubs Forum. (KC Policy) 2. To have judged 350 dogs in this breed. (KC Policy) 3. To have judged a minimum of 100 classes. 4. To have judged at 2 Breed Club and/or Breed Club Supported Entry Shows, for 2 different Breed Clubs. 5. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable. 6. To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed. (KC Policy) B List (Breed Specialists): For persons who are recommended as being suitable to judge Dachshunds at shows without CCs or at Open shows. Criteria 1. To have owned and exhibited Dachshunds for 5 years and have the support of the Club. 2. To have attended a Breed Club Judging Seminar. 3. To have stewarded at least twice. Either: 4. To have judged 10 classes of the breed, with an average of 3 dogs per class, or 5. To have bred and owned at least one dog when it obtained its first entry in the KC Stud Book, or 6. 6 B List (Non-Specialists): For persons who are recommended as being suitable to judge Dachshunds at shows without CCs or Open shows. Criteria 1. Minimum of 5 years judging experience in Dachshunds and have the support of the Club. 2. To have judged 20 classes of the breed, at 5 Open Shows, with 60 dogs actually present. 3. To have attended a Breed Club Judging Seminar. C List: For aspiring Judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the Club. Listings would normally include persons who have judged the breed at Limited and Open Shows scheduling not more than 3 classes per Dachshund breed, but do not yet qualify for the B List. Note: A2/A3 Assessments: The Kennel Club requires a judge to have passed three assessments before being considered for the A2 List. It is a Breed Council requirement that at least one of those assessments must have been completed at a Breed Education Seminar, or a Breed show Mock Class. The other two assessments may be carried out at judging appointments at Open Shows. It is also a requirement of the Breed Council that candidates have passed the Council's written assessment paper which can be taken at Breed Seminars. Applicants for the A2/A3 List must be sponsored by one of the Dachshund Breed Clubs. The Council does not sponsor applicants UK Dachshund Breed Council Page 6 of 6
