7 BCNC is offering Morning Hospitality on Friday & Saturday, August 25 & 26 as well as Lunch on both days. Health Seminar Bulldog breeding, OFA and health related concerns will be discussed at a health seminar to be held immediately following the PM Concurrent Specialty on: Saturday, August 26 Health seminar presenter will be our judge, Dan Bandy. Wine and cheese refreshment will be provided. The Bulldog Club of Northern California will be holding their General Membership Meeting Immediately following Best of Breed of the Thursday show on August 24th Care for SHOW SITE facility is of utmost importance to Bulldog Club of Northern California. Whenever it shall be determined that misuse of a hotel / motel room or show site is occurring, the Bench Show Committee shall convene for the express purpose of an on site inspection of the area in question. Misuse of SHOW SITE shall consist of the following but not be limited to: Smoking in non-smoking areas or rooms. Allowing dogs to relieve themselves in areas other than those clearly designated for that purpose. Failure to clean up after your own dog in an area, at any time. All dogs must be crated in rooms. Bathrooms are not considered a crate area and are not to be used to house dogs. At the discretion of the Bench Show Committee and / or house-keeping, rooms may be inspected at any time. In The Event of Any Complaint, should it be determined, by a hearing that destruction and / or misuse of property is in fact occurring, the following steps shall be taken to correct the matter: Monetary restitution shall immediately be made to the said hotel / motel by the violator (s). The person, or persons, found in violation of the hotel / motel and AKC / The Bulldog Club of Northern California rules shall be asked to leave the premises immediately, and; If suspended from all AKC privileges, the offender s name (s) shall be published in the AKC Gazette as having been found guilty in violation of the said AKC rules. 9 CLASSIFICATION BULLDOGS REGULAR CLASSES ALL SHOWS Puppy Dogs 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy Bitches 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy Dogs 9 mos. & under 12 mos. Puppy Bitches 9 mos. & under 12 mos. Dogs 12 mos. & under 18 mos. Bitches 12 mos. & under 18 mos. Amateur Owner Handler Dogs Amateur Owner Handler Bitches (Effective as of 1/1/2009) Chapter 3, Section 7 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows The Amateur-Owner-Handler class shall be for dogs that are at least six months of age that are not champions. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog. This class is restricted to exhibitors who have not, at any point in time, been a professional dog handler, AKC approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler. Additionally, members of the immediate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class (as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13). Bred By Exhibitor Dogs Bred By Exhibitor Bitches All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record. American Bred Dogs American Bred Bitches Open Dogs Open Bitches Winners Dog Winners Bitch Best of Breed Competition Grand Champion Select points offered at judge's discretion Best Puppy Competition (BCNC Saturday AM Only) From the Regular Puppy Classes First Place Winners NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES - ALL SHOWS Winners of these classes, if otherwise undefeated, compete in Best of Breed Competition. *VETERAN DOG AND *VETERAN BITCH CLASS - For Dogs and Bitches 6 years of age and older. Open to Champions and Non-Champions alike. A dog may be entered in the Veterans Class without being entered in any other class. Dogs & Bitches will be judged separately. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES - ALL SHOWS NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. *STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of Get. Get only to be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class. No additional fee for the Get. *BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. 11 PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES BULLDOG CLUB OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23, AKC Event # Sweepstakes will be judged on Wednesday and is open to all Breeders and Owners of Bulldogs that on the day of the show are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age. Classes will be divided by age and sex. Dog may be shown by owner, breeder or handler. Professional Handlers may show their OWN DOGS ONLY. A Champion of Record may not be entered or shown. Each dog or bitch MUST be entered in a Regular Class at the BCNC show (on PM Friday). Entry fee is $15.00 for each dog and entries shall be made at the same time and on the same entry forms as for the Regular Classes. Indicate Sweepstakes and the age division in the space provided for Additional Classes. SWEEPSTAKES CLASSES Classes in the Sweepstakes will be divided by sex into the following age categories: Puppy Dogs (6 mos & under 9 mos) Puppy Bitches (6 mos & under 9 mos) Puppy Dogs (9 mos & under 12 mos) Puppy Bitches (9 mos & under 12 mos) Dogs (12 months & under 18 months) Bitches (12 months & under 18 months) The winner of each age group class will compete for BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES. Open Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors Meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name.
