The Bulldog Club of America Executive Committee will hold its first meeting on Saturday, February 10th in the evening over dinner at a place and time to be determined. The Bulldog Club of America, Division III Board of Governors will hold its first meeting of the year on Saturday, February 10th at, or near, the show site one hour after the second Mother Lode Bulldog Club show. Details to be provided. The biennial meeting of the members of BCA Division III, originally scheduled for October 28, 2017 in Dixon, California, has been rescheduled to February 10th at, or near, the show site, to commence either before or after the BCA Division III Board meeting as will be posted at the show. The Board of the BCA Division III wishes to advise exhibitors that it has designated that the Best of Breed winner at its show on February 11th, will be invited as the Division's automatic qualifier to the first ever Bulldog Club of America Top 20-Plus, to be held during the Bulldog Club of America National Show Week on October 29, 2018 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Bloomington, Minnesota (Minneapolis Metro Area). In order to compete in the BCA Top 20-Plus, the invited dog must still satisfy certain eligibility requirements, such as ownership by a BCA member. See 2018bcanational.org for more information. Bred By Exhibitor Dogs Bred By Exhibitor Bitches All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family members must be a breeder and owner of record. Open to Champions and Non-Champions alike. A dog may be entered in the Veterans Class without being entered in any other class. Dogs & Bitches will be judged separately. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES - ALL SHOWS NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won any of these classes. *STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of Get. Get only to be judged based on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class. No additional fee for the Get. *BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. *Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. The following classifications are not offered: Novice Dogs & Bitches, Amateur Owner Handler Dogs & Bitches Awards of Merit for All Shows The Mother Lode Bulldog Club of Sacramento will offer one Award of Merit for every 10 Champions of Record Bulldogs competing in the Best of Breed competition. Dogs awarded Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed and Best of Winners are excluded from selection by virtue of their higher placement. 9 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS REGARDING CORRECTIONS OR CHANGES TO ENTRIES: Corrections other than the specific changes listed in Ch. 11, Sec. 6 (i.e. sex of a dog, transfers between age specific classes, and move-ups to BOB or BOV) are the only changes to the entries superintendents or secretaries are authorized to make after closing of entries. THIS RULE IS BEING STRICTLY ENFORCED BY THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENTRIES CAREFULLY. Corrections to entries may be made by the Superintendent prior to the closing of entries if such correction is submitted in writing. Exhibitors are required to report any changes/ corrections after closing directly to the American Kennel Club. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION MOTHER LODE BULLDOG CLUB AM and PM SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2018 AKC Event # & # Novice Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors Meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. 10 PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES MOTHER LODE BULLDOG CLUB - PM SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2018 AKC Event # Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes and is open to all Breeders and Owners of Bulldogs that on the day of the show are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age. Classes will be divided by age and sex. Dog may be shown by owner, breeder or handler. Professional Handlers may show their OWN DOGS ONLY. A Champion of Record may not be entered or shown. Each dog or bitch MUST be entered in a Regular Class at the same show. Entry fee is $20.00 for each dog and entries shall be made at the same time and on the same entry forms as for the Regular Classes. Indicate Sweepstakes and the age division in the space provided for Additional Classes. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. 19 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. A recording fee of.50 cents and a Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at any licensed or member club show, obedience trial or tracking test. This recording fee is to be collected by the showgiving club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the recording fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule, Chapter 14, Sec. 2). Trophies must be claimed the day of the show or be forfeited. No entry shall be made and no entry accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telephone and Telegraph entries cannot be accepted. Entries must be submitted on an American Kennel Club Official Entry Form or exact copy (both front & back) and must be signed. Owners are responsible for errors on entry blanks. The Club and/or its Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or owner's Agent entering a dog or a class for which the dog is not eligible to compete. Entry fee shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of Show Committee or because it has been entered incorrectly. No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those regularly entered in the show. Dogs must be ready for Judging: The club and its show secretary will not be responsible and are not obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed or class judging. The Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. This club will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. The club will not be responsible for injury to any person attending this show. A dog which, according to its owners' records, has completed the requirements for a Championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose Championship is unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any regular conformation Judging at the show. ADDITIONAL RULES Exhibitors must not wear pins or badges identifying them with any club or organization. Crates and grooming tables will not be allowed within 10 feet of the rings. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. All dogs present must be held on a leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercise ring. Class cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of the breed is over and the Show Secretary advised at once.
