Patricia Shaw Online Entry Service at for entries made with American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. A $3.50 charge will be added to each entry for use of this service. Online Entries processed with PayPal. No Telephone and/or FAX Entry Service. Changes, additions or correction to entry form must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by phone will not be acceptable. An administrative fee of $2.00 will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries. Refunds of $3.50 or less will not be issued due to the costs of processing. All refunds will not be mailed out until after the show. RETURNED CHECKS, DECLINED CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paid in guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Show Secretary will add a $32.00 fee to the amount of the check for completing the transaction and or reprocessing the entries. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO ELECTRICITY AVAILABLE AT THESE SHOWS With the exception of paid overnight parking spaces, there will be no electricity available at these shows. To accommodate exhibitors who wish to use their own portable power generators for grooming, there will be a first come, first served grooming area designated for this purpose (generators may not be used outside of the designated grooming area). This grooming area will be within walking distance of the rings, but will not be directly on the field where the show rings and main grooming areas are located in respect of fellow exhibitors. Please help protect the future use of our beautiful show grounds. Bring your own shade. Canopies for shade are allowed at least 10 (ten) feet from any show ring as long as they do not obstruct the view of spectators and exhibitors and do not block the entrance to the ring. No individual setup at ringside is allowed before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Argus Ranch Facility will offer coffee, espresso and light snacks each morning starting at 7 a.m. Cold beverages will be available in the afternoon." EAHC August 03,

4 Attention Exhibitors Exhibitor Rule Change Effective 01/01/2010. Chapter 11, Section 1. No dog shall be exhibited in a licensed or member dog show, except for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class unless it is either individually registered in the AKC Stud Book or individually registered with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration. For complete detail see Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 1. Effective for all events held on and after January 1, The American Kennel Club will collect a $3.00 Event Service Fee for the first entry of a dog and a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and nonregular recordable single entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. The current 50 cents recording fee will continue to be collected where applicable. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Events Service Fees for the American Kennel Club. These event services and recording fees shall be forwarded to the American Kennel Club along with all other required event results with seven (7) days of the close of the event. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, Please notify the Show Secretary at the address provided. No entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telephone, telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent entered a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ANY ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show, No refund of entry fee may be made. No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those regularly entered in the Show. The judging will start promptly. Dogs may arrive anytime prior to their time of judging and may leave immediately thereafter unless required for further judging. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. LOSS OR DAMAGE: The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this Event. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the Show. All rights to televise, video tape, advertise, photograph, promote or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the show grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph televise, video tape, audio tape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. The Kennel Club is not responsible for the actions or products of the commercial vendors at this show. Their shall be no benching, nor offering for sale or breeding dogs. MEMBERS OF THE EVERGREEN AFGHAN HOUND CLUB ARE ASKED TO PLEASE STAY AND HELP SECURE/CLEANUP THE GROUNDS AFTER THE SPECIALTY SHOW. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE Animals left in vehicles will be monitored by County Control Officers and Club Members. If animals are in distress due to heat or any other circumstance, the vehicle will be forcibly entered, the animal recovered and the owner cited. CRATE IDENTIFICATION TAGS The welfare and safety of dogs is a critical issue at all events. The need for notification of owners is sometimes necessary, and critical time can be lost it this information is not readily available. Please place a tag on EACH crate which contains the dog s call name, owner s name and/or name of responsible person at show, phone numbers and any special comments or conditions. 4 - EAHC August 03, 2018

We will contact the person if the picture will not print out correctly and needs a higher resolution. Original pictures will be scanned into your ad if we receive those. Any word processor file format that Microsoft Word 6.0 or Microsoft Publisher we can open. Handwritten ads that we receive will be subjected to an hourly charge in addition to the advertising prices above of $15.00 peer hour. The measurements for ad size are 4.5 x 7.5 for a full page. 7 CONFORMATION CLASSIFICATION The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Regular Classes PLEASE NOTE THAT NOVICE CLASSES OR AMATEUR OWNER HANDLER CLASSES ARE NOT OFFERED. Puppy (6 mos. & under 9 mos.) Puppy (9 mos. & under 12 mos.) 12 mos. & under18 mos. Bred-By-Exhibitor American Bred Open NON-REGULAR CLASSES (INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES) FOR BOTH DOGS AND BITCHES Veteran (7 yrs. & under 10 yrs.) Veteran (10 yrs. & over) The winners of these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Any veterans defeated in these classes may not compete for Best of Breed, even if entered in the class. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties shows. Best of Breed Competition NON-REGULAR CLASSES (INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES) Stud Dog Class Brood Bitch Class Brace Class Best of Breed Competition The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed/ Variety Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed/Variety Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. Grand Champion Competition The following categories of dogs are entered in this competition: 1. Dogs that are Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. There are no additional entry fees or cost to exhibitors for participation in this competition at AKC events. 2. Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owner s records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. 3. Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed competition (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent specialties are eligible). 4. Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Champion competition. And their winning BOB/BOV or BOS will still allow the awarding of Select Dog/ Bitch to eligible dogs in the ring. At the judge s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to: 1. Best of Breed or Variety. 2. Best of Opposite Sex. 3. Select Dog. 4. Select Bitch. Grand Champion competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed completion and in breeds that are divided into varieties, Grand Champion Competition will not continue beyond Best of Variety competition. Award of Merit At the judge s sole discretion, Awards of Merit may be awarded in recognition of those entrants in the Best of Breed competition who are in serious consideration EAHC August 03,

8 for the top award, as follows: one (1) AOM if nine (9) or fewer champions are entered; two (2) AOMs if ten (10) or more champions are entered. Whether any Award(s) of Merit are awarded is entirely up to the judge. Recipient(s) will receive a Dark Green Rosette. Non-Regular Classes (Involving Multiple dog entries) As the judge s decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. A castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class. Stud Dog Class For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class, the Get MUST be entered in one of the regular classes. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the additional class fee if the Stud Dog is entered in another class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. Brood Bitch Class Same as for the Stud Dog except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Brace Class - Effective 01/1/2005- A brace is defined as two dogs of the same recognized breed or variety that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace must have at least one common owner. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class only An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Brace Class. Brace is a single entry and includes both dogs. Entry fee is $15.00 Parade Of Veterans - This class is non-competitive and is for dogs and bitches 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. The entry fee is $ Veterans entered in this class MAY NOT compete in any Regular or Non-Regular class at this show. Each entrant will receive a rosette with the entrant s name inscribed. Entrants need not be champions or other titleholders. Owners are to bring a written biography for their dog to the show, which will be read while the dog is in the ring. SWEEPSTAKES REQUIREMENTS & CLASSIFICATION Sweepstakes is open to all Afghan Hounds that are six months of age 6 months & under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Dogs shown in sweepstakes must also be entered in one of the regular classes at the regular entry fee and on the regular entry form. Sweepstakes will be judged prior to regular classes. Indicate your Sweepstakes Class with the age division in the space provided for Additional Class. The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Puppy 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy 9 mos. & under 12 mos. 12 mos. & under 15 mos. 15 mos. & under 18 mos. DIVISION OF ENTRY MONEY FOR PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES The first 30% of entry fee will be retained by club for expenses. The remaining will be allocated as prizes (rounded to the nearest dollar amount). 10 Parking Information Parking for this weekend is a privilege extended by WWHA and Argus Ranch Facility. WWHA and ARF reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any person who abuses it. OBEY ALL PARKING SIGNS. All parking staff are volunteers. Thank you for treading them with courtesy. Abusive Language towards the parking attendants may result in dismissal from the show. 1. Parking is at your own risk. Neither WWHA, ARF, the specialty Clubs nor the Show Secretary assumes any responsibility or liability for damage or loss to any vehicle, its contents or dogs. 2. All parking is to be on the show grounds. 3. Gates will open at 6:30 AM and close at 11:00 Pm Friday through Sunday. 4. Unloading in designated areas only. A time limit per vehicle will be observed. 5. Handicap parking: both day and overnight spaces will be available on a limited basis. Proof of eligibility is required.
