3 TROPHIES AND ROSETTES GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS Class 1: Pedigree will supply rosettes 1 st -10 th place. Tuffley Agility Club will present trophies to the 1st and 3 rd places and a balance of rosettes to meet at least 10% of entry. Class 2: Pedigree supply rosettes to 10 th place plus 10 voucher for 1 st and 5 voucher 2 nd -6 th. Tuffley Agility Club will present trophies to the first 3 places and a balance of rosettes to meet at least 10% of entry. Class 16: Sponsors rosettes to the top six teams, Tuffley place rosettes to the teams placed 7 th to 10 th. Sponsors will award Trophies to the top two teams, Tuffley will award trophies to the team placed third. For other Large Classes: Tuffley Agility Club supply Trophies to 3rd Place and Rosettes to at least 10% of entry. The registration number will be required at entry. 2. Entry Fees 2.50 per dog for all Classes, Team Camping The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries. All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the show can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned. 4. Puppies under 18 calendar months of age on the day of the show are not eligible for Kennel Club Licensed Agility tests. 5. Not for competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged 4 calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form. 6. The mating of bitches in the show precincts is forbidden. 7. No bitch in season allowed to compete. 8. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show. 9. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar, i.e. not attached by a ring. 10. Should a Judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to Judge, the committee reserves the right to appoint another Judge. 11. A Judge at an Agility Test may not enter for competition a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership: or handle a dog at the test at which they are judging. 12. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the Judge or Judges. 13. Kennel Club standard marking will apply. 14. Obstacles shall be in accordance with Annex B to H(1) regulations. 15. Jump Heights Small 350mm, Medium 450mm, Large 650mm 16. A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from Test if it is: (a) A bitch which is in season. (b) Suffering from any infectious or contagious disease. (c) Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent. (d) Of such temperament, or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any other person or animal. (e) Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues. 4 Eligibility and Schedule of Classes 17. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition shall be counted when entering for classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show, after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class/es for the next grade. The dog will be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. 18. It is a competitor's responsibility to be available for their class and running order. 19. Should circumstances dictate, the Committee in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them will be reported to the Kennel Club. 20. Any alteration to this schedule will be published on the Agility Net and in the Agility Voice and this will be deemed sufficient notice. 21. Competitors briefing will be held prior to the start of each class, they will be allowed to walk the course but without the dog accompanying the handler. 22. All dogs entered at the owner s risk, and whilst taking every care, Tuffley Agility Club cannot be held responsible for any damage, loss or injury caused to dogs, persons, or property whilst at the show. 23. Competitors are responsible for any loss, damage or injury caused by them, their dogs or property to any other person whilst at the show. 24. No practice will be allowed before, during or after the show, and no dog will be allowed in the ring at any other time than when competing. 25. In all matters concerning the competition, a Judge s decision will be final, in all other matters, the decision of the Show Committee will be final. 26.The Committee reserves the right to defray any costs from the entry fees should the event be cancelled. 27. Any cheque returned by the bank, will be passed back to the drawer, and will incur charges 28.No competitor shall abuse, verbally or otherwise, any helper at the Show. 29.Handlers working more than one dog in a class must ensure that the dogs compete in the sequence in which they are drawn Failure to do so may result in elimination. 30. Internet entries will be accepted via Competitors must adhere to all site rules. 32. No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show management., a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming.the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control. 7 In accordance with KC Rules, large dogs who have not competed before 1st January 2006 & ALL Small & Medium dogs must have been officially measured before competing at a KC licensed Agility show. Small Open to those dogs measuring 35cms or under at the withers Medium Open to those dogs measuring over 35cms and those measuring 43cms or under at the withers Large Open to dogs measuring over 43cms at the withers Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the classes. (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for Grade 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to the dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 (Elementary) For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility or three first places in Jumping Classes at a Kennel Club Licensed Agility Show. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 (Elementary) are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 (Starters) Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1,,4,5,6,7 and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at a Kennel Club Licensed Agility Show. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 (Graduate) Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 (Novice) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 (Intermediate) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 (Senior) Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 5 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 (Advanced) Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 4 first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, 2 first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. Any Size Open to all dogs not entered in any other classes over the weekend. Jumps will be set at 350mm for Large dogs and 228mm for Small and Medium dogs and will not contain a tyre. or weaves. The course time will be 60 seconds. All heights of dogs will compete against each other over the same course at the dog s applicable jump height with one set of awards. 8

5 SITE INFORMATION Camping is only on the designated site and is Limited to 260 units. If you wish to be notified whether you have got a camping spot, please enclose an SAE. The Cost per Camping Unit is for the weekend. 1 Camping admissions are from 3pm on Friday 3rd July Units will be refused entry if arriving prior to this time unless previously agreed 2 If you arrive after 10pm the Camping stewards will be off duty so gate will be closed and you may not gain entry. You can move on to the main site in the morning. 3 The size of the pitch includes 1 caravan and awning and 1 vehicle. 4 For Health and Safety reasons please park according to instructions given. 5 Roadways MUST be kept clear. 6 Each camping unit MUST HAVE an appropriate fire extinguisher and bucket of water outside. 7 P.A. System: this will not be in use until 9.00am 8 Information Point: this will be situated near the Secretary s tent. Prize giving will also take place at this point. 9 Generators: these must not be used between 10pm and 7am in consideration of your neighbours. 10 Chemical toilets must only be emptied into the Elsan provided. DO NOT empty chemical toilets into the show toilets or wash them out at the fresh water standpipes. 11 DO NOT put Nappies and other solid waste into the show toilets please. 12 No showers are available. 13 Water is available at various standpipes around the site. 14 Containers for rubbish and poo bags will be provided. 15 Barbecues are not allowed anywhere on the show site, Gas Barbecues are however permitted. Exercise Area this will be clearly marked. There is a public right of way through the site. Please keep your dogs on leads except in the exercise area. Poo bags must be put in the skips provided for that purpose. You will be asked to leave the show-ground if you do not pick up. The dog exercise area is not a childrens play area. CLASS 1 NEWTON HEATH D.T.C The Kennel Club Olympia ABC Agility Stakes* 2009/2010 RULES *ABC Agility Rules are copyright of Newton Heath DTC. 1 The Kennel Club Olympia ABC Agility Stakes is a special agility competition to be run under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations H for Large dogs. 2 The competition is open to all dogs (grades 1 7) excluding Border Collies, Working Sheepdogs and any of their crosses. 3 The first four dogs of each heat will be invited to attend the semi-final. The next best placed dogs at a heat will be deemed to be reserves should a qualified dog be unable to attend the semi-final. Reserves from heats will be invited to attend the semi-final up to and including the closing date of the NHDTC Show June Show. After the closing date NO reserves will be called even if other qualifiers have to retire / withdraw. 4 Dogs that have already qualified for the semi-final may enter further heats for competition. 5 Those dogs eligible to compete in the semi-final shall be the four best-placed dogs in each heat that have not previously qualified. 6 A handler may qualify more than one dog for the semi-final but may only compete with one dog at the final. 7 The semi-final will be held at the annual Newton Heath DTC agility show held in June. The final to be held at Olympia in December. Any alteration will be publicised. 8 Owners, handlers and dogs who enter the heats or attend the semi-final will be deemed to have accepted the Rules and Regulations of the competition and the organising show. 9 The organisers, Newton Heath DTC and the Kennel Club, in agreement, reserve the right to alter these Rules and Regulations at their discretion. 9 10

6 CLASS 2 The Kennel Club Olympia Large Novice Agility Stakes Supported by Pedigree 2009 Rules This competition will be classified as combined grades 3,4,5 and Judged under the Kennel Club regulations for standard classes. Dogs should be eligible to enter a Grade 3,4,or 5 class at the time of qualifying for the semi final. Any subsequent wins gained by the dog will not alter its eligibility to compete in the semi final Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat and may qualify more than one dog for the semi finals. Handlers may only qualify one dog for the final which will be the highest placed dog at the semi final. Once a dog has qualified for the semifinal/final, further heats may be entered for competition, Although any placings in these further heats will not effect the dogs eligibility for the final/semi-finals. The first three placed dogs from each heat will be invited to compete in the semi finals at the City of Birmingham Championship Show: Where there are multiple splits at a qualifying show, the first two dogs will qualify for the semi final from each part of the split class ie for two class parts the first two from each part would qualify, for four-class parts - the first two from each part would qualify. The first thirty-five placed dogs in this semi final will be invited to compete in a further semi final at Olympia. The top ten highest placed dogs in the Olympia semi final will qualify for the final at Olympia. Those dogs eligible to compete in Novice Large Dog Agility competitions are those measuring over 430mm ( 1 foot 5 inches) at the withers. THE TEAM DASH Competition Rules 2009 The 'Team Dash' is a competition for teams of four dogs and handlers, run as a relay over a simple jumping course. It isdesigned as a sprint event with spectator appeal; accessible to all grades of handlers and all heights of dogs. Teams of fourlarge, four medium or four small dogs run over the same course at their own height, under identical conditions. There are ten qualifying heats. The top two teams from each heat, regardless of height, qualify for a final comprising oftwenty teams at Dashin' Dogs summer show: Friday 21st to Thursday 27th August Any shortfall of teams (heats lost due to show cancellation etc) will be made up with qualifying teams from Dashin' Dogs summer show. It is a requirement of this competition that the course contains no traps, and is of 'fast and flowing style'. A simple coursesuch as a figure of eight, or a largely circular or helter-skelter style course is most appropriate. 1. The competition is classified under Kennel Club Regulations as Combined Grades 1 to 7 and Special, and will be held under KC Rules and Show Regulations H & H1 as in force at the date of the competition. Additional rules apply as described below. Competitors entering this Competition are deemed to have agreed to abide by these rules. 2. If the entry for a heat exceeds the KC limit for a judge in a day then the class will be equally and randomly split and another judge appointed for the second part. The winning team from each part will be regarded as the two qualifying teams from that heat. 3. All teams must consist of four dogs of the same height classification, handled by four separate handlers. Conditions remain the same for all teams except that the height of equipment will be appropriate to the height of the team of dogs competing. 4. Additions or substitutions to teams (handlers or dogs) are permitted, provided that (i) the substitute(s) is/are already entered in the heat (as a team member or reserve) (ii) rule (5) is not breached and (iii) alterations to teams are made before the run. 5. Handlers may compete in more than one team in a heat, providing they handle a different dog in each team. In the event of a handler being in both qualifying teams then their highest placed team will be deemed to have qualified. Dogs may only compete in one team in any given heat. 6. The course must contain two changeover lines, clearly marked on the ground, each with a minimum gate width of 4m. Dogs 1 & 3 start behind line A and finish behind line B. Dogs 2 & 4 start behind line B and finish behind line A. (Handler 1 may use a recall start). The inward and outward courses can be different, but both dogs from behind the same line must run the same course. 7. The course each dog is required to negotiate shall contain no less than 14 and no more than 20 obstacles. 8. This is a relay event and two suitable batons must be provided. All baton changes must be completed with the handlers and dogs behind the appropriate changeover line. Failure to comply with this, or an incorrect baton change (i.e. throwing or dropping the baton at changeover) will incur a penalty of 50 points on each occasion. Stewards may be appointed by the judge to adjudicate changeovers if required. 9. For each dog an elimination on the course incurs a single penalty of 100 points, however the judge will continue to mark any further faults on the remainder of the course and the faults of any remaining dogs. 10. The team with the fastest time and the least faults, wins. The top two teams from each heat qualify for the final. Once qualified, neither handlers nor dogs may compete in the remaining heats for that season except as Not For Competition. 11. Only the members of an original qualifying team (as specified on the scribe sheet at the time of the run) or the two original named reserves, will be allowed to compete in the final. Changes are at the organiser's discretion and only under exceptional circumstances. 12. In the event of a team being unavailable for the final, a reserve team will be called from the heat in which the qualifying judge will continue to mark any further faults on the remainder of the course and any faults of any remaining dogs. Team Dash prizes to 1 st and 2 nd placed teams: Individual trophies and rosettes (4x: 1 st, 2 nd ), letter of invitation to the final. To 6 th placed teams: Individual rosettes (4x: 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th 6 th ) 11 12

7 CSJ Senior Tournament 1. The competition is open to all large dogs currently eligible for grades 6 and 7 under KC rules. 2. The competition will be judged under current KC rules and regulations. All competitors will be deemed to have accepted these rules 3. The tournament will run over two days and consist of 4 individual classes, all of which are normal KC senior classes. You do not have to enter all 4 classes to be eligible for the overall title. 4. Points will be awarded to the top 20 dogs in each class (1st place 20 points down to 20th place 1 point). The winner of the CSJ Senior Tournament will be the dog with the most points at the end of the four classes. In the event of a tie for any of the overall places, there will be a run off over the final course. 5.The aim is to reward the same dog and handler combination in this event, therefore the same combination must run in the classes to qualify for the final points total. CSJ Novice Agility Qualifier - Rules & Regulations Eligibility for the competition under the Kennel Club classification and open to dogs working grades three four and five. The competition must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club Rules in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering the competition must be deemed to have agreed to abide by those Rules and Regulations. Competitors may enter more than one dog in a heat, but may only qualify one dog for the final. Each heat is open to all competitors eligible for Grades Three Four and Five. Qualifiers may enter further heats for competition, providing they are eligible. Handlers who gain a place in a heat with a previously qualified dog should inform the Show Secretary on the date of the show of this fact. The competition will consist of 7 heats with the first 4 from each heat going through to the final, 5th and 6th place being reserves for that heat. In the event of someone qualifying more than once for the final, reserves will be taken from the appropriate heat. Surrogate Handlers will not be allowed. 8 Eagle Pack Annual Agility Starters Cup Rules & Regulations Eligibility for competition is under the Kennel Club classification and is open to dogs Working Grades One and Two Large Dog Agility. The competition must be judged under the appropriate Kennel Club Rules in force at the time of the event. Competitors entering the competition must be deemed to have agreed to abide by those Rules and Regulations Competitors may qualify more than one dog for the Final. Each heat is open to all competitors eligible for Grades 1 & 2 Large Dogs. Qualifiers may enter further heats for competition, providing they are still eligible for Grades 1 and 2. Handlers who gain a place in a heat with a previously qualified dog should inform the Eagle Pack representative on the day of the show of this fact. The competition will consist of approx 10 heats with the first 3 placed dogs from each heat going through to the final. In the event of someone qualifying more than once for the final, the next placed eligible dog will be taken from the appropriate heat. Should someone be unable to attend the Final the next placed eligible Dog may be invited at the sponsor s discretion Surrogate Handlers will not be allowed.
