Classes 2,16 and 22 / Classes18 and 24 / Classes 6,17 and 23 / Classes 9,15 and 21 / Classes 14 and 20. YKC Classes 27 to 29 will be over the same course and YKC Classes 30 to 32 will also be over the same course. In addition the YKC courses will all be walked at each height prior to the start of the first class in the group and will not be able to be walked in-between height changes once the first class has begun. We reserve the right to change this if entries or conditions dictate. Entries are limited to 3 classes per dog (excluding Junior classes) - dogs entered in more than 3 classes will be removed from the highest numbered class and no refunds given.

3 PRIZES Rosettes to at least 10% of entry in all standard classes. Rosettes for all unplaced clear rounds in all classes Up to 25 entries trophies to 1 st, up to 50 entries - trophies to 2 nd, over 50 entries trophies to 3 rd ELIGIBILITY FOR CLASSES In accordance with KC rules, large dogs that have not competed before 1 st January 2006 & ALL Small and Medium dogs must have been officially measured before competing at a KC licensed agility show. In the following definitions of classes First Prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship Agility, Premier Agility, Open Agility or Limited Shows (i.e. Special classes & invitational events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression. Agility classes to include contact obstacles and Jumping classes where there are no contact obstacles. With this proviso classes are defined as follows: Class Structure: A class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded class may be scheduled for one or more consecutive grades with separate results & awards issued for each grade. A Combined class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression: Progression from each grade will require one Agility win or three Jumping wins in standard classes at that grade, except that progression from Grade 5 will require 3 wins at Grade 5, one of which must be an agility classe. Progression from Grade 6 will require 4 wins at Grade 6, two of which must be agility classes. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade. Points Progression: At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme (Regulation K3.c refers), except that there is no requirement for a minimum number of agility points. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the Show Secretary signs the dog s Agility Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. STANDARD CLASSES Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the classes. (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for Grade 1, the three jumping wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 (Elementary) - For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1, (Elementary) are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 (Starters) Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grades 1,3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 2 (Starters) are not eligible for this class. Grade 3 (Graduate) - Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 (Novice) - Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows and are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 5 (Intermediate) - Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 6 or 7. Grade 6 (Senior) - Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 3 first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows, one of which must have been gained in an Agility (not jumping) Class, and are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 (Advanced) - Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of 4 first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, 2 first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes. SPECIAL CLASSES Large Other Breed Open to all LARGE dogs (within defined grades) EXCEPT working sheepdogs, border collies and their crosses. If in doubt about parentage please do not enter this class. Large Veteran THE SASHAMONT MEMORIAL - Sponsored by Lisa Tarry in memory of her two best friends SASHA & MONTY who are sadly no longer with us. Open to any dogs aged 9 years or over on the day of the show that are not entered in any other class at this show. Jump height 45cm. Long jump (if used) will be as specified for medium dogs: to comprise 3 to 4 units the overall maximum length to be between 700mm (2ft 3.8ins) and 900mm (2ft 11.4ins). The height of the front unit to be 127mm (5ins) and the height of the rear unit to be 305mm (12ins). This class will be free flowing and will not contain a tyre or weaves. YKC Agility Dog of the Year The competition is open to all YKC members only, aged 6 years and up to, but not including, 18 th birthday handling any Kennel Club registered dog (small, medium or large). Marking for Special classes may deviate from marking for standard classes if specified in this schedule. Wins, places and clear rounds in special classes will not count towards agility warrant points or grade progression at Kennel Club shows.

4 Eligibility for All Agility Competitions The YKC hosts various agility competition finals at Crufts with certain ways in which to qualify. Each individual competition follows different rules which are summarised below. These rules are for the YKC competitions and should be read in conjunction with the specific Agility Regulations (H). Dogs entered must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B. If your dog is a rescue or crossbreed, the Kennel Club has an Activity Register for dogs that do not qualify for the breed register. YKC Agility classes which qualify members to take part at Crufts are held at appointed licensed Agility shows throughout the year and can be found at When it states there are 6 sub-divisions or classes these relate to the age of the handler and the height of the dog as follows: - Under 12 (Handlers 6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday) Large Dogs - Under 12 (Handlers 6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday) Medium Dogs - Under 12 (Handlers 6 years and up to, but not including 12th birthday) Small Dogs - 12 Years and Over (Handlers 12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday) Large Dogs - 12 Years and Over (Handlers 12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday) Medium Dogs - 12 Years and Over (Handlers 12 years and up to, but not including 18th birthday) Small Dogs Handlers are placed in the class, in accordance with their age group on the first day of Crufts. Where points are accumulated throughout the year, these will be allocated to the specific handler and dog partnership (no substitution of dog or handler may be made) All equipment will be as per H Regulations in force at the time and will be appropriate for the size of dog. Standard agility marking will apply, including the counting of any time faults The judge will set the course No persons shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time Dogs must not wear and type of slip, half slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting leather or webbing collar is permitted providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar, i.e. not attached by a ring Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring All competing dogs must be aged 18 calendar months or over on day of competition CRUFTS QUALIFICATION In order to enter any YKC Crufts qualifying competition you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your membership fee then any award will not count towards qualification for Crufts. Therefore it is important to renew and maintain YKC membership as current if you wish to participate in qualifying Crufts competitions. Please note that the YKC office will only accept wins from classes that are listed on the YKC website. If a show schedules an YKC class which has not been approved by the YKC management Team and published on the website it will not qualify for Crufts. YKC AGILITY DOG OF THE YEAR Class Definition Fully paid up members aged 6-17 years can take part in these qualifiers There will be six classes as defined in the eligibility section The first and second placed handler and dog in each subdivision at each qualifying class will be invited to take part in the YKC Agility Dog of the Year Semi Final at Crufts provided that at least six dogs are entered into the division AND complete the course i.e. dogs are not eliminated If less than 6 dogs complete the course (or less than 6 dogs are entered) then the first placed dog and handler only will qualify Members are only permitted to handle one dog in the Semi-Final at Crufts, if a handler has qualified more than one dog they will have to choose which dog to run. The next placed dog and handler in the heat with the non-chosen dog will then be offered the place. The three highest placed dog and handlers in each sub-division of the Semi-Final at Crufts will go through to the Final in the Main Arena at Crufts. Large Grade 1 Dog Tournament Kindly sponsored by Karl Pitwon: Classes 1 & 2 Best Large Grade 1 Dog Tournament run over the 2 days (Dartford & Keston) kindly sponsored by Karl Pitwon. The winner will receive a detailed portrait of their dog. Rosettes 1 st to 3 rd Points will be awarded to all placed Large Grade 1 dogs in Classes: 1 & 2 on Saturday and Sunday. *Competition Rules*: The competition is open to all Grade 1 dogs entered in the Large Grade 1 grade/graded classes across both days of the show. The winner will be determined by the highest number of points accumulated over the four runs. In the event of a tie break situation, the handler with the highest points in the agility round will take priority. Points will be awarded for placings as follows: 1st - 10 points down to 10th - 1 point. (The show secretaries decisions are final)

5 THE SASHAMONT MEMORIAL The Special Large Veteran class is being sponsored by one of our club members, Lisa Tarry, in memory of her first two dogs Sasha the Samoyed and Monty the Border Collie who are both sadly no longer with us, but will live on forever in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved them. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and rosettes to 10th place. RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B, or else registration or transfer of registration must have been applied for. The registration number/authority to compete (ATC) number will be required for each entry. 2. All dogs registered and resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete (ATC) number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without a Kennel Club Registration number or an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor. 3. Entry Fees per dog, per class (non-members) 1.50 per dog, per class (members). No refunds will be given after the closing date under any circumstances. 4. There will be no prize money awarded. 5. Internet entries will be accepted via 6. The Committee reserves the right to refuse entries. 7. Only dogs of 18 calendar months of age and over on the day of the competition are eligible for competition at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows. 8. Not For Competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the entry form. 9. No bitch in season is allowed to compete. 10. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show. 11. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar i.e. not attached by a ring. 12. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge, the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. 13. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. 14. Class 13: Jump height will be 45cm. Large Dog Classes For dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. b. Medium Dog Classes For dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and measuring 430mm (1ft 5ins) or under at the withers. c. Small Dog Classes For dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers. 18. Judges at an Agility Show may not enter for competition a dog which is recorded in their ownership or part ownership; or handle a dog at the Show at which they are judging. Dogs may be disqualified if proved to have been handled by the scheduled judge s spouse or immediate family, or resident at the same address as the scheduled judge. 19. Withdrawal of dogs from Competition: A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the Show if it is: a. A bitch which is in season. b. Suffering from any infectious or contagious disease. c. Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent. d. Of such temperament or so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal. e. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. 20. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition i.e. 8 th May 2013, shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show, after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor will be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. All wins up to and including Wednesday 8 th May shall be counted when entering for any class. Grade changes should be notified to agilityaid@o2.co.uk by 16 th May

6 22. Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club. 23. In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the society will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses. If the show processor has the provisions to do so, competitors should be refunded in the manner in which they had entered the show. Alternatively, the society will refund fees by cheque to all those that had entered and requested a refund on receipt of a stamped, self addressed envelope submitted within 1 month of the show date, within 3 months of the show date. 24. Food shall not be carried in the hand or given to a dog in the ring. 25. Should the judge deem a re-run is required, any result and/or faults gained in the previous run must be discounted. 26. Separate entry forms must be completed by each Owner and must be signed by the Owner or his authorised agent in accordance with provisions specified thereon. Forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees. 27. Competition of Dogs Suffering from Contagious or Infectious Disease No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the Competition may compete. Competitors infringing the Regulation will be liable to be fined and/or dealt with under Kennel Club Rule A It is the competitor s responsibility to be available for their class and running order. Competitors must run as close to their running order as possible. Failure to do so may be reported to the Kennel Club. 29. Animals in Event: No animal other than one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during its continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show society, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the dog show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times. 30. A pay on the day class will be held if time permits. 31. A practice ring may be available to dogs entered for competition at the show, if space allows. This ring must be supervised by a responsible adult with agility knowledge. 32. Welfare of Dogs An exhibitor (or competitor) whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. A breach of this Regulation may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. 33. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course at briefing, but must not be accompanied by a dog. 34. Classes may be split if entries warrant. In the event of a class being split, it is the competitor's responsibility to work a dog in the correct part. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 35. Rosettes and trophies will not be forwarded and should be collected on the day. 36. All dogs are entered at the show at the owner's risk and, whilst every care will be taken, the committee will not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury, however caused, to dogs, persons or property at the show. 37. Dogs aged four calendar months and under are not allowed within the precincts of the rings (including trade stands). DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS Your dog is vulnerable and AT RISK if left in high temperatures and even on days considered as slightly warm. Please take care of your dog. If your dog is found to be at risk forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused. DIRECTIONS TO VENUE Leave the M25 at J30-31 (southbound) or J30 (Northbound). Follow the A13 towards Southend / Tilbury. After 5 miles leave the A13 at junction signed A128 to Brentwood. At roundabout take 5th exit signposted A1013 Grays/Blackshots Leisure Centre. 7 KESTON AGILITY CLUB Open Agility Show at Orsett Showground, Essex Sunday 2 nd June 2013 This form must be used by one person only (or partnership). Writing MUST BE IN INK OR INDELIBLE PENCIL. Use one line only for each dog. The name of the dog and all details as recorded with the Kennel Club must be given on this entry form. If an error is made, the dog may be disqualified by the Committee of The Kennel Club. All dogs must be REGISTERED at The Kennel Club in the name of the owner. If the registration or transfer of ownership has not been confirmed it must be applied for before the closing date of entries. In case of dispute proof of postage of such applications may be required by The Kennel Club. Dogs under 18 months on the day of competition cannot be entered for competition. On no account will entries be accepted without fees. If a dog is in the process of Registration or Transfer at the time entry is made, add the letters NAF or TAF as appropriate after its name. Please put classes in numerical order and USE BLOCK CAPITALS throughout when completing this entry form. Not for competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Any bank charges incurred through incorrectly completed or dishonoured cheques will be passed on to the owner concerned.
