Sheridan Hicks: Novice I became involved with obedience when I got my first Dobermann over 30 years ago. Until recently I have only trained and trialed Dobermanns.

3 Your Judges: Denis Cody: Community Companion Dog Denis has been involved with training dogs, starting with his Lab Cadbury, soon after he came to Australia. Cadbury gained his CDX within 18 months of starting training, then completed his Tch at the grand age of 13 and a half. Luci is now semi retired and likes to watch the others do their stuff. Sam Dual Ch (T) Jenuin Constantine TSD RA CD was re homed to Denis after a show career. He has always been a very bright and willing dog. Unfortunately illness has caught up with both Sam and Luci. Wynton is Dual Ch (T) Capanesh Dark Daawn Arising. He is now being trained for an obedience career. Denis has judged since joining the Judges training programe in He enjoys watching and assessing great dogs and handlers. Sheridan Hicks: Novice I became involved with obedience when I got my first Dobermann over 30 years ago. Until recently I have only trained and trialed Dobermanns. As my Dobermanns are enjoying their retirement I have had to recruit the farm Kelpie as my next obedience dog. We are both enjoying the challenge but he has his CCD title so we are on the way! I have always enjoyed the partnership that develops between handler and dog and it is that partnership I love seeing as a judge. It is always an honour and privilege to be invited to judge at an obedience trial, even more so when it is on such an historical occasion as the GSDCV Centenary Championship Show. I am sure it will be a great event and I wish all competitors an enjoyable and successful trial. Lisa Sinclair: Open My name is Lisa Sinclair. I came to Australia 30 years ago from Scotland with my family and two cocker spaniels. I then acquired two re homed cockers. I have been entering trials in Obedience and Agility over most of those years. Six years ago I had a change of breed and am now owned by Coffee Creme my border collie! I have been judging obedience for 3 years and enjoying it enormously. It wasn't until I became a judge that I realised how much the judge really really wants the handler to PASS! I wish all the handlers the best of luck in the ring today. I am hoping it all goes well for you but remember if it doesn't, that is quite ok. We own dogs not robots!! Graham Eades: Utility Dog Graham Eades has been a dog trainer for almost twenty years. He became involved with dog obedience to manage the exuberance of Max, his first Dalmatian, and joined Berwick Obedience Dog Club in Max went on to and gain his CDX title. Graham is a fully qualified Obedience and Rally judge and enjoys the interaction with competitors in both Obedience and Rally. He now works with his rehoused Dalmatian, Ossie, who enjoys spending time socialising with other dogs and their owners.

Noeline McIlroy: Utility Dog Excellent Having been around dogs most of her life, Noeline caught the Obedience bug in 1985 when she took the new family Border Collie to Southern Obedience Dog Club.

Next step was judging, and, after having attained all Obedience Licences, she moved on to be elected to the Obedience, Tracking and Endurance Committee of DOGS Victoria, where she remains, and is on

Noeline judges regularly in Victoria and has judged and competed interstate as well.

4 Noeline McIlroy: Utility Dog Excellent Having been around dogs most of her life, Noeline caught the Obedience bug in 1985 when she took the new family Border Collie to Southern Obedience Dog Club. She soon started trialling and instructing and also joined Mornington Obedience Dog Club of which she is a life member. Next step was judging, and, after having attained all Obedience Licences, she moved on to be elected to the Obedience, Tracking and Endurance Committee of DOGS Victoria, where she remains, and is on the Judges Training Panel. She also holds a licence to judge Rally Obedience. She is now in her third term on Management Committee of DOGS Victoria and is also on the DOGS Victoria Herding Committee. Noeline judges regularly in Victoria and has judged and competed interstate as well. Currently she has three Border Collies in various stages of training and competing in Obedience, Tracking, Herding and Conformation and enjoys nothing more than to see dogs and handlers out having a good time doing what they were meant to do. Looking forward to an enjoyable day today with Group 5, best wishes to all handlers and dogs Dr Maribeth Murphy: Rally Master, Excellent A & B I have been training dogs for many years from a mixed breed when I was younger to both Border Collies and Rough Collies when I came to Australia. My current 3 dogs are Dobermanns. I became interested in Rally about five years ago through my club and one thing lead to another and I earned my judging licence for all classes of rally. I am also currently working on my CCD licence. I wish all competitors good luck, but mostly have a lot of fun and enjoy the friendship of your canine partner!! Michael Hayes: Rally Novice & Advanced A & B I've had dogs all my since being born, my very first which was a Bull Terrier. While being young my parents did obedience with their Dobermanns and I had a blue whippet in which I've trained at Southern Obedience Dog Club and did very well reaching as far as the "Green Class". I had left the scene for some time as my parents were focusing on their Greyhound for racing, and I had my education to focus on which didn't leave me any time for dogs aside from travelling with my mother and father to watch the races and did some catching on the side for them and other trainers for a bit of pocket money. Having previously shown Pugs in Junior Handlers, I wanted to make a return to the show and obedience scene and this is where Clancy (BISS Aust Ch Neuter Ch Wilooka We Like To Party RA) came along! In his early days we did some obedience and showing (and those that known Clancy as a youngster knew that he wasn't a friendly chap who thought some hands that went near him would make a good meal!). It was a lot of work with great help along the way that his behaviour changed for the better. We initially did some CCD trials, but I've personally felt it wasn't for me due to the nature of my disability. So I've walked away and concentrated on the show side with Clancy. I have discovered Rally O in 2016 through the Hound Club of Victoria with thanks to Sharon Sempel and returned to the obedience scene once again with Clancy at 7 years of age and he left great impression on many obtaining his Rally Novice title very quickly (although he was not a fan of lead work!). Not long after he obtained his Rally Advanced title with two class wins in a very competitive field, a testament to a Toy Breed, and as a "King of Toys", he showed anything is possible! I've recently this year obtained another Rally Novice Title with another Min Pin Billy (BISS Aust Ch Majicjewel Dark Knight RN) from very limited outing and now currently training my Papillon Bailey (Watermill Ralph Lauren) along with Clancy. I am very excited to be given the opportunity to be asked to judge my very first trial at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria (Restricted to Group 5 trial) and as someone who grew up working with small breeds, this is an incredible excellent opportunity and privilege to be asked to judge the Working Dogs breed! I have decided with this being my first judging appointment, to donate a beautiful Rosette for my three class winners! I wish everyone the very best of luck at today trial and have an enjoyable day!
