2 DuFresne s Auto Service News Flash Jammin Dogs It s common practice among pet owners: put on some music when you leave the house, the notion being that the soothing strains will keep your little friend chill. Well, here s some DJ advice: Skip the Mozart and turn on the Marley. Researchers found that when shelter dogs listened to music, they spent more time lying [down] and significantly less time standing. (Sounds like our teen years.) The best results came when playing reggae or soft rock, which slowed the dogs heart rates. (Anyone who has mellowed out at a reggae fest is not surprised.) Alas, the same trick won t work for cats. University of Wisconsin researchers found that felines respond to specially composed tunes featuring cat-friendly frequencies and largely ignore human music - much as they largely ignore humans. :) Anything that happens enough times to irritate you will happen at least once more. ~ Anonymous WOW...What A Testimony! Ken And Ann Anderson: We've used DuFresne ever since we moved to the area. Great service. Alex Nielsen: Very helpful and understanding with my circumstance. I will refer all family and friends. Randy And Cindy Hudson: I trust DuFresne's to provide an accurate diagnosis for what's going on with my car and then fix it without adding on things I don't need. The people are friendly, and you can tell they're in it for the longterm relationships with customers. Ron Hall: Great service and great value. Dufresne's was able to take care of my car in less than a day. Let me know costs before they started working, and called me when finished. Thanks! Thomas Mangiaracina: Honest, uses quality parts, friendly and accommodating. Joelle Mascord: DuFresnes Auto Repair did a great job with my repair. I was able to bring my car in quickly and they called me with a diagnostic recommendation before any work was done. I will most definitely be back! Love the early hours!
3 October 2017 Edition Safety Tips for Night Driving Night driving can be a lot of fun. You can turn your music up loud, there's less cars on the road and less distractions. However, driving at night, especially longer distances can be tricky and have more dangers than daytime driving. Did you know that more crashes and auto accidents happen at night? It's true, there's about 1 and a half times more crashes at night than during daylight hours. The main issue that contributes to this is the decreased visibility you have at night. Not only is your depth perception, peripheral vision and color perception less at night, but road markings and signs are simply harder to see at night. The older you get, the more trouble you may have with driving at night, since a 50- year-old will need more light to see than a 20-year-old driver. Fatigue can also be a factor, for both old and young people. Here are some essential safety tips to help you drive at night with less worry: 1. First, always make sure that your mirrors and windows are clean, as any dirt or dust on these areas will increase the glare you get from lights and oncoming cars. Also make sure your headlights and tail lights are clean to make sure others can see you. Whenever you stop for gas, make it a habit to clean your windshield. 2. Speed is a big factor in crashes, so be sure to obey the speed limit at night. In addition, visibility, even with your high beams on, is much less at night so obeying the speed limit is critical to be able to stop for any obstacles in time to avoid them. 3. Since there's a lot of glare at night, you'll want to check your side and rearview mirrors frequently, this can help lower eyestrain and keep your eyes focused. 4. Never drive when you are sleepy. Drivers who are sleepy are almost as dangerous as drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you're sleepy, stop and get a cup of coffee to make sure you stay awake, or take a nap in your car until you feel refreshed enough to drive again. 5. Should you have car trouble, always pull over to the shoulder of the road and make sure to turn on your hazard lights so others can see you. 6. Watch the roadsides for the reflection of any animal's eyes. You'll be able to stop or slow down more easily if you spot them before they run into the road. 7. Use your high beams and fog lights only at appropriate times. Don't use high beams if there are oncoming cars or fog lights if it isn't foggy. 8. It's smart to be a defensive driver at night, especially on weekend nights, due to the higher risk of encountering drunk drivers. 9. Lastly, put down that cellphone. It's an even worse distraction at night than during the daytime.

8 Let s say you drive a well-worn vehicle, something with an odometer that s been around the planet a few times. Is special high-mileage oil worth the extra price compared to a conventional lubricant? Having a car or truck that marks its territory, so to speak, is often the result of seal degradation. Over time the rubber components inside a powerplant can become brittle and shrink; small cracks can even form. All of this decay can lead to seepage and leaks. High mileage oil has seal conditioner. Conditioner makes seals more flexible & can cause the seal to expand slightly. This helps stop seals from leaking. High mileage oil cost a bit more, but if your car has been around the block a few hundred thousand times, the benefits can be well worth the added expense. Valvoline's product features extra anti-wear additives as well as additional dispersants and detergents to help break up sludge and keep things clean. Regular maintenance and using High Mileage Oil will help maintain your vehicle in top condition and will help keep the repair bills down. The folks at Valvoline recommend you make the switch at 75,000 miles. Join our High Mileage Club and Receive a $25.00 Coupon. Send Your Name, Phone Number, Year, Make & Model of Vehicle & to TeesWorld23@gmail.com Must have a vehicle with 75,000 miles or more. 10 DuFresne s Auto Service News Flash Sweet Success One Quarter Of All The Candy Sold Annually Is For Halloween Night Yes, no matter how much we eat for Christmas and Thanksgiving, Halloween has cornered the market on candy. As a country, we consume 20 million pounds of candy corn a year. Handing out Halloween treats is the perfect excuse to eat some too, as four-in-ten (41%) adults admit that they sneak sweets from their own candy bowl. And if you re a kid, hang on to your basket, because home is where the candy thief where 90% of parents admit to sneaking goodies from their kids Halloween trick-or-treat bags. But whether your stealing some, handing out some or having yours stolen, chances are you ll get your hands (or miss getting your hands) on a Snickers bar, it has been the number one Halloween candy for years.
