1 ON CALL VOLUNTEER: 250,000 people per year from all over the United States and the World. Our priorities are the safety and comfort of all The On Call Volunteer is needed to cover several areas including Guest Services, Bus Lot Management, Theater Orientation, and Guest Experience Escort. Please have strong, friendly, communication skills, and the ability to interact with visitors. This is a position which requires flexibility as hours and responsibilities may vary daily. You may be outdoors for your shift. Bring plenty of water or other fluids to stay hydrated, sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun, as well as rain gear for inclement weather. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position the On Call Volunteer is asked to do the following: Wear comfortable shoes; you may be standing on asphalt for a long period of time. If you cannot stand for your entire shift, we will provide a chair. Ability to work while standing for up to 4 hours.
2 BUS LOT VOLUNTEER: The Bus Lot Volunteer directs busses and vans arriving in the Plimoth Plantation Bus Lot to an assigned parking spot in a well-organized and safe manner. The Bus Lot Volunteer is the first person our guests will meet upon their arrival. Please have strong, friendly, communication skills, and the ability to interact with visitors. The volunteer will maintain a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment for tour bus drivers and their passengers arriving at the Plimoth Plantation Bus Lot. The Bus Lot Volunteer will work in conjunction with the Guest Experience Escort as well as Guest Services and the Orientation Theater Volunteer to assure a safe transition of the group to the Visitor Center, so the ability to work with a team is necessary. Parking Lot volunteers are always outdoors. Bring plenty of water or other fluids to stay hydrated, sunscreen and a hat for protection from the sun as well as rain gear for inclement weather. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position, the Bus Lot Volunteer is asked to do the following: Wear the safety vest provided for you. Wear comfortable shoes; you will likely be standing on asphalt for a long period of time. If you cannot stand for your entire shift, we will provide a chair. Ability to work while standing for up to 4 hours. You may need to perform other duties upon request (namely filling in additional occasional shift).
3 ORIENTATION THEATER VOLUNTEER: The Orientation Theater Volunteer is essential to help get groups of students and tourists into and out of the Orientation Slideshow on a daily basis. By working closely with Guest Services, the Bus Lot Volunteer, and the Guest Services Experience Escort, the Orientation Theater Volunteer helps get groups into and out of the Orientation Slideshow in a calm, quick and orderly manner. They determine when the theater is open and available for the groups to view the slideshow, as well as start and stop the show, if necessary. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position, the Orientation Theater Volunteer is asked to do the following: Have a basic knowledge of how to run the Orientation Slideshow. Have the ability to work with and coordinate with fellow staff members to help the groups get through the Visitor Center in an orderly fashion. Have the ability to answer questions, not just about the slideshow but also about the museum in general. Have the ability to speak to the groups, if required, about the slideshow they will be seeing as well as how to proceed once the slideshow is over. Some groups may want you to give them a small introduction before the slideshow starts. Ability to work while standing for up to 4 hours. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing for a while. If you cannot stand for your entire shift, you may use a chair. You may need to perform other duties upon request (namely filling in additional occasional shift).

You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Due to the nature of the position, the Plimoth Cinema Volunteer is asked to do the following: Help Plimoth Cinema Staff prepare and give concessions to the guests. Answer basic questions about the theaters, movies, as well as questions about the museum in general. Help guests to their seats, if necessary. Provide a warm and welcoming greeting to our many regular guests Willing to work as a team with our Cinema Staff person. Please have friendly communication skills and the ability to interact with visitors. Special attention will be paid to the cleanliness and appearance of the golf cart especially during inclement weather. You will be taught all necessary responsibilities to succeed in the position. Most guests who use the golf cart are doing so due to mobility issues, so there is an almost certain chance that you will encounter a situation where a guest has a wheelchair or a walker.
