Respon ses h ave been edi t ed f or gr am m ar an d spaci n g on l y. Jessi ca, a volunteer for 5 year s, said,?i picked Cat Tales because someone I knew adopted their cat from there and I found out someone I knew volunteered there. One reason that keeps me coming back is obviously my love for cats, but also just the fact that is the entire organization is like a giant family, all working together to better the lives of hundreds of cats who might not get a second chance otherwise to be happy. Our strongest bond in my eyes is love!? Li n da is going on her 4th year in M ar ch.?i started at Cat Tales when my daughter needed a volunteer position for her agri-science program. We live out of town and I knew I would have to provide her ride so I thought it best for me to volunteer with her. W hen she went away to college I continued, because it is the other volunteers that I enjoy seeing and working with. I have had many favorite cats during these years; some have passed and some have been adopted, but a few of my favorites that are still there are Bruce, M argarite, and W ilma.? Tej a, a student, just tur ned 18. He has been volunteer ing for about a year and half and he picked Cat Tales because he w ould like to w or k w ith anim als w hen he gr aduates high school. He loves the exper ience and alw ays looks for w ar d to seeing Oliver. Al an dr a has been volunteer ing alm ost 3 year s. She says,?i chose Cat Tales because I love cats, and helping them seemed like something I'd enjoy doing. W hy I keep coming back is that it is such a rewarding experience. I love making sure that the cats are comfortable and have fresh bedding. Socializing with them is very relaxing and takes some stress away. I look forward to coming to see my favorite cats, and all the cats of Cat Tales." Kat e is 17. She has been volunteer ing for about a year, and said, "I love the Kitties and wants to make sure they know they are loved." Beck y, losing tr ack of tim e, but thinks she?s been ther e alm ost 5 year s said,?i had originally tried to go to another local shelter, but they weren't super warm and inviting. I saw a volunteer at M iddletown Stop and Shop, at a Sit and Beg. I went to talk to the volunteer and he was so nice and said such great things. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. M y opinion was listened to and everyone let me go with my ideas. I saw how much of a difference I could make and I was given the opportunity to do so. Now I am just family and no turning your back on family (cats and volunteers).? Bai n has been volunteer ing for 3 year s.?i wanted to become involved in a no kill rescue shelter for cats and was not pleased with the environment when I volunteered at a shelter in a nearby town. I saw Cat Tales mentioned on TV and when I sent in a donation, I included an offer to volunteer. The cats keep me coming back. If I could take in every stray, homeless, abandoned kitty, I would. I want to do my part to help them stay safe, happy and healthy. If that means scooping litter, doing laundry and cleaning up after them, then I am happy to do it. It?s meaningful to me and I love every minute when I am at the shelter. I look forward to M onday evenings and can?t wait to see them all. A rotten day at work is immediately forgotten the second I pull into the driveway. I like the welcome I get from the kitties when I enter a room - maybe they missed me as much as I missed them! M ore often than not, they are asking me what?s for dinner? W hy are you standing there and not making our dinner? I prefer thinking they recognize me and are happy I am there. I want to pick every one of them up and give them a hug and a kiss and spoil them rotten. Didi always welcomes me as does M argarite, Buttons, Derby, Tinker, Iris and Lilly. Penelope comes up to say hi to me and Alexis never minded if I woke her up to say hello. Lucian is an angel and I will never forget how he watched over Chloe. Sebastian curls up on my bag and stays there until it?s time to go. I?m pretty sure he thinks I won?t notice and I?ll just end up taking him home. Louise, Wanda, Lulu and Katya still won?t give me the time of day and neither will Velvet, Chrissy or Emily. But that?s okay, I will keep trying. Bruce falls asleep sitting up and I am not sure if that is weird or amazing. I miss Andy, Callie, Timmy, Smurf, Abby, Zeke, Toulouse, Dottie and everyone else that found a home. It?s always bittersweet for me when they are adopted? I?m happy for them but sad because I will miss seeing them. I cry for every kitty we lose and sometimes my heart breaks because we can?t save them all." I don?t t h i n k I n eed t o say an yt h i n g el se. Ou r vol u n t eer s h ave sai d i t al l. W hen I w as found, my m outh r eally hur t and the doc decided to pull all my teeth. I am no longer in pain and I easily take m edicine in my food. Bl ak e (r i gh t ): I'm a handsom e little boy w ho like m ost kittens is ver y playful. I r eally love to be pet and feel the love. Since I w as found at an apar tm ent com plex r om ping ar ound, I am still w or king on being com for table w hen held for m or e than a shor t per iod of tim e - it's just not natur al to m e yet. Som e also say I am a little r eser ved w hen you fir st m eet m e but I am still getting used to the fact that I am now safe at Cat Tales. I n di e: I am one of the favor ites - or that's w hat they tell m e. I think it's because ever yone loves my kitty kisses! I love to be held, cuddled, pet and w ould totally sleep on your lap and bed! I do like my beauty sleep and w ould pr efer for the house to be peaceful - you know, not noisy w ith dogs and sm all childr en. I also need a high quality food for my im m une system since I tested FIV+ but I feel fine and ever yone says I am healthy. And don't w or r y, hum ans can't catch this and it's r eally har d for other cats to catch it. I'm r eady for a hom e to call my ow n. Pl ease adopt m e! Bob Weebl es: I am ver y affectionate and sw eet, I pur r loudly, love to talk and I love people!
