1 MARCH 2009 RESCUE ACTIVITY REPORT MOLLY GÜERITA ROCCO BENITO BEBE AMANDA DORIS 1

2 MOLLY BREED: Female Cocker Spaniel AGE: 6 years MOLLY was abandoned by their owners, they were decided to throw her away if we didn t receive her. She was very nervous and irritated at the beginning, it took her 2 days to feel comfortable and calm, she has a strong personality. We discover that she has piometry in an initial stage, that is probably the reason to abandoned her. She is now medicated and feeling better, after she is fully recovered she will available for adoption. 2

3 GÜERITA BREED: Female Labrador Mix AGE: 2 years aprox We don't know for how long GUERITA wondered the streets lost and scared to death, just looking for someone who would look at her and give her some comfort. When a volunteer found this 2 year old, she noticed how thin she was, but most important she found out this emaciated dog had still some warmth in his canine heart for humans. GUERITA was taken to the vet. The doctor found she also had mange and worms. But nothing that wouldn't go away with medical care and some time to heal. She has gained a little weight, but still is under treatment for the mange and some other parasites they found. As soon as she's done with that she will be spayed so that GUERITA can have a beautiful home with a family to love. 3

4 ROCCO BREED: Male Pitbull AGE: 2 years aprox. ROCCO, for sure was used to fight, he was in the streets for a while until a young boy call us to find out if we can do something for him. Even though his appearance was not friendly, he was very calm and tired. He had a serious infection, the skin starts to gangrened. This kind of cases is very sad, because these animals have no need to fight for money. We have to euthanized Rocco because of his health condition; he was feed and caressed while he slept. 4

5 BENITO BREED: Male Boxer AGE: 2 years aprox Benito was abandoned by his family, he was feed from time to time by the neighbors, but not everyone was happy with his presence. So he was reported to PRODAN, and we went for him. He had a serious anemia problem. He recovered so fast that we couldn t believe it. He is so lucky because after being neutered and vaccinated found a beautiful home where he is the king now, he totally forgot the rough times. 5

6 BEBE BREED: Female French Poodle AGE: 1 year aprox. This young dog was reported to PRODAN, she was in the sidewalk maybe somebody move her to prevent not being hit again. She had their front legs destroyed. She was euthanized while we caressed her. 6

7 AMANDA BREED: Female Cat AGE: 3 months aprox. AMANDA Probably was hidden in a car near the motor; she presents burns in her paws and tail. She was found for a couple of volunteers. The tail was to damaged, so it had to be amputated. She is so tender and calm. Now she is perfectly in health and the wonderful news is that she also has a family. 7

8 DORIS BREED: Female Cocker Spaniel Mix AGE: 5 months. DORIS was a gift for a little kid last December. The family already had a dog, a 10 year old Chihuahua with a bad temper, which would like to share her space with baby DORIS. So after a few months the family decided they couldn't keep her, because she was also too playful for them. DORIS, that was sent to the backyard to sleep and hang out, even with low temperatures, until a volunteer found out her case and went to rescue the mutt, that was very loving and sweet. She was in a good shape, with all her shots up to date, so she went to the vet to get spay, and after a month she's all ready to find a new home, where she will be welcomed, loved, and where someone will let her lick his toes and feet... She loves that!!! 8
