The majority of the species are white-spotted during the summer. Our buck boasts spectacular palmate antlers with their distinctive broad-bladed appearance. B1610 BFA IMK 2014/2015 Secret Store Height: 7.0cm Length: 4.5cm First appearing in Britain at the end of the first ice age almost 10,000 years ago, the red squirrel s future is increasingly uncertain as one of its greatest threats, the larger and stronger American grey squirrel expands across the mainland. Peregrine (15th Anniversary Symbol of Loyalty) Height: 8.5cm Length: 7.0cm This lovely figurine has been sculpted in celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the Border Fine Arts Society as a thank you gift to members with fifteen years continuous membership. The peregrine was an obvious choice as it has been the logo for Border Fine Arts since the company started in Lazy Days (20th Anniversary Symbol of Loyalty) Height: 7.5cm Length: 6.5cm This is an unfamiliar sight, a fox sitting peacefully, with not a care in the world. It looks as though he has decided to take full advantage of the sunshine by spending some quality time to take a relaxing breather, after all, it s not very often that this crafty creature gets the opportunity to enjoy lazy days. If The Boot Fits (25th Anniversary Symbol of Loyalty) Height: 7.5cm Length: 6.0cm If The Boot Fits is FREE for all members who have twenty-five years continuous membership and depicts a faithful Border collie with a sense of humour! 4 B1573 Joys of Motherhood (LE: 250) Height: 19.0cm Length: 26.0cm Anne Wall A mother knows that it s always nice to be in the midst of her offspring s play, whatever their antics and, even though this Border collie bitch is tired, she still diligently watches her pups closely as they vie for her attention. Ah, the joys of motherhood! B1508 An Occasional Rest (LE: 250) Height: 15.0cm Length: 56.0cm This scene features an International 434 with elevator and trailer. The crop has been cut and bagged and, thanks to advancements in automation, what used to involve two men lifting each sack is now done by the elevator and even allows for opportunities for an occasional rest. 4 The Border Fine Arts Classic Collection

5 B1449 The Beautiful Bradford (LE: 400) Height: 17.0cm Length: 30.0cm The Boswell family have enjoyed their week at Appleby Fair, but, sadly, it s now the final day. Dressed in their best, the horse brushed to a shine and ready to pull their much-prized new beautiful Bradford cart home, they are a truly magnificent sight. 5

6 B1470 Welsh Black Family (LE: 350) Height: 19.5cm Length: 26.0cm As the name suggests, the Welsh Black cattle breed is Wales only native breed of cattle and has a proud heritage. As much at home in the lush valley pastures as the upland crags, this hardy breed has been prized for centuries for the quality of its meat and milk. B1477 Zwartble Ram, Ewe and Lamb (LE: 350) Height: 17.0cm Length: 26.0cm The name Zwartbles comes from the Dutch zwart, meaning black, and bles, meaning blaze, after the blaze of white running from the top of their heads to the tips of their noses. 6 The Border Fine Arts Classic Collection

7 B1575 Keeping Guard (LE: 250) Height: 32.5cm Length: 28.5cm Keith Sherwin Thought to have been introduced to Britain by the Romans, pheasants have graced our woodlands and large game estates ever since. This colourful cock pheasant is on guard duty, making sure his harem of hens stay close and safely within his domain. The Border Fine Arts Classic Collection 7

8 B1574 Boxing Hares (LE: 350) Height: 26.0cm Length: 23.0cm Keith Sherwin There is madness in the air! For most of the year the hare is a reclusive creature, but in spring, as the breeding season gets underway, testosterone hormone levels are elevated and the fields are rife with the sparring of the boxing hares as they show their great pugilistic skills.
