BUILDING INFORMATION The Show Site will be available to exhibitors at 6 a m on Friday, March 12, Crates only in buildings. Show committee can ask exhibitors to stack crates. NO Ex-Pens allowed. No underage puppies or unentered dogs on show grounds. Grooming & Exhibiting in the same building. This is a self-cleaning show. Owners or agents are required to clean up after their own dogs in all areas. NO CHALKING. Booth Space: $30:00 for 10 X 10 area, Tables will not be provided. 5 CONFORMATION CLASSIFICATION The following classes will be offered for both Specialty Shows No Novice Classes offered Regular Classes For Siberian Husky Only Puppy Dogs 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy Dogs 9 mos. & under 12 mos. Dogs 12 mos. & Under 18 mos. Amateur-Owner-Handler Bred By Exhibitor Dogs American Bred Dog Open Dogs Winners (Same Classes for Bitches) Bred By Exhibitor (BBE) Class Eligibility The Bred By Exhibitor Class shall be for dogs that are; Not Champions of record on the date of closing of entries for the show. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog AND an owner of record of the dog by closing.. Family members must be a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in this class. All Dogs entered in any Class must be individually registered with the AKC at the time of closing Best Of Breed Competition Additional Classes Involving Single Dogs Veterans Dog/Bitch: For Dogs and Bitches 8 years of age and over. Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches may compete in this class. Winners of these classes will compete for Best Of Breed Sled Dog Class To qualify for entry in the Sled Dog class the dog must have completed one of the following three requirements. During the previous racing season, each entry must complete twelve (12) heats with a minimum of four (4) miles per heat, or 48 miles per season. All races must be on snow with sleds and under the direction of a Recognized Race Giving Organization with rules and recorded results. A Race Season is from April 1 to March 31. Entries who complete five (5) years in competition where the above rules are met shall be automatically qualified for the Sled Dog Class. A Certificate of proof may be issued by the Chair of the Working Committee if the 5 years of proof of competition records are sent in. Entries who have been awarded an SHCA Sled Dog Certificate, either SD, SDX or SDO and are additionally eligible for entry in a conformation class at an AKC event are eligible to compete in the Sled Dog Class. Spayed or neutered dogs are not exhibited in this class. A list of the races in which the dog competed, or a copy of the five year certificate or a copy of the Sled Dog Degree must be sent to the Show Secretary when entry is made. Proof of qualification must be available at ringside with one of these shown if challenged. 7 Agility Play Day With time permitting there will be Agility equipment on hand for Educational fun runs with your dogs after showing & before the banquet on Saturday. There will be expert Siberian Agility Exhibitors on hand for demonstrations & to answered questions. Banquet: The Detroit club offers our "40th year get-together" Saturday night at our local Dexter Pub. There is Family dinning & we will be ordering off the menu. Spectators/exhibitors are allowed to videotape dogs in the ring as long as it does not interfere with judging, the comfort of other exhibitors and/or obstruct the free flow of foot traffic. Flash photography of dogs while they are competing inside the show ring is not permitted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All persons attending this show hereby waive any claim for damages against the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit or its members, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The use of foul or abusive language may result in a hearing of the Bench Committee. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian s recommendations to assure their dogs are free of internal/external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practical after entries have closed. Should such acknowledgment not be received by the exhibitor within a reasonable time please contact the Show Secretary at Deeshounds@aol.com or (313) A $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee and a AKC recording fee of $.50 or $3.00 AKC Recording Fee Only for Rally if offered will be required for each dog entered in any licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial, Rally Trial or Tracking Test (AKC Rules, Chapt. 11, Sect.2). These fees are included in the entry fee. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Post dated and returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a $30.00 collection fee to each returned check. The Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit and the Show Secretary, their agents, employees, etc. assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers or in any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. No refunds for duplicate entries. Every effort to find duplicate entries will be made. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellations after the published closing date and time. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising pen. Class cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging is over. The Show Secretary, & the SHCGD disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging is over. All trophies will be awarded in the ring. No trophies will be mailed. Entry Fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by a Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of The Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible too open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as but not limited to storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat must be considered for the health and safety of the exhibitors, dogs and spectators. The well being of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fees will be made. This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry form for these events. No baby strollers are allowed in the Building 11
