2 The Invincible Tardigrades By Jordan Sikes What if I told you of a super hero, a super hero that could live in space and not suffocate and die? A hero that you could submerge in water for your whole lifespan and him not drown, put in boiling water and survive, in fact the hero could go without water for over 100 years, and survive in radioactive waste? How would you react? And what if I told you it was all real? A tardigrade is sadly not a super hero, but a really cool little animal that is able to do all of those amazing feats like whenever they are not in water it goes into a state that conserves water in its body for over 100 years. It is a small little creature about the size of a pen tip. (That s my way of saying it s a microscopic organism.) Another name for them is a water bear. Why you ask? Because they look like this. If you are a curious person like me you probably want to know where to find them. And luckily I can say they are in your neighborhood right now. But you have to look in a place with moss. And that is all I got on the little creatures. An Interview with the New Principal By Rowdy Johns 1. How long will you work here? CW: As long as God will let me. 2. How do you think of our school? Did you know the hottest planet is not the closest planet to the sun? Movie Review By: Jordan Hansen The new Star Wars movie was AWESOME! There were some awkward parts and one sad part. When Kylo Ren killed his father, that s just wrong. But Kylo Ren got hurt by my favorite person in the whole movie, her name is Rey. She is my favorite character because she can use the Force and she didn t know it. 7.) Did you know that Mars is named after the Roman god of war? 8.) Did you know that Mars has the largest dust storms in the solar system? 9.) Did you know Pieces of Mars have fallen to Earth? 10.) Did you know one day Mars will have a ring?

4 .My School & Friends By: Megan Lucas My favorite subject in school is math, why you ask because math is sometimes easier. But I sometimes like reading, and science, but also my worst subject is Social studies, social studies is the worst subject ever!!!!!!!! also I love P.E and art and I'm not a big fan of music though. Music is kind of fun, but not quite, Art and P.E are fun! My favorite thing to do at school is my math class, and I also have two classes one is my reading class, and the other is my math original class my math class. My friends are Autumn Wilson, Madison Black, Theresa Thorpe, Hope Rutherford, Margaret Davis, Jaelynn Rodgers, and more or should I say others.. My favorite Book is Nerd Camp because it is very similar like the show I watch at home it's called Bunked!!!!! and also Nerd Camp is a sunshine state book!!! Photo from Google Images K-Kids News By: Mackenzye Grigsby Starting February 1st through February 19th we are collecting Pennies for Patients. Mrs. Powell the sponsor of the Kiwanis club would really appreciate it if our school could collect $2000. We do Pennies for Patients to help the children that have Leukemia and other types of blood cancers. If your class gets the most money out of any other class, Olive Garden will come to your class and serve you and you K-Kid lemonade, breadsticks, salad, and spaghetti. You can also collect tabs off of soda cans then take them to Mrs. Powell s Pre K. The tabs will go to Ronald McDonald House to help if a parents child is sick and in the hospital.

5 Welcome Back Rally By: Campbell The welcome back rally was exciting but also bittersweet. We celebrated being safe respectful, and responsible, as well as the core essential words from the past few months. We also said goodbye to Mrs. Stryker. She will truly be missed. She also introduced everyone to the new principal Mr. Whitfield. Look for an interview from him in this issue. Cats by: Paige Zerr Cats are the most popular pets. They live almost all over the world, anywhere people live. Cats come in many shapes, colors, and sizes. They go from soft, long haired to hairless. They can weigh from about 5 to 20 pounds. Cats are natural hunters. They like to hunt at night. Feral cats known as wild cats hunt for all their food like birds, rats, rabbits, and squirrels. Domestic cats known as house cats eat whatever their owners feed them, and if they can go outside they will hunt for the same things that the feral cats hunt. Cats have a rough tongue they use when eating to get meat off bones. They also use their tongue when they clean themselves, it works like a comb. Cats whiskers are very important. they are used to keep their head from getting stuck. If their whiskers touch when they stick their face into something then they know their head won t fit. A group of cats are called a clowder. A male cat is called a Tom. A female cat is called a Molly or Queen. A baby cat is called a kitten. A group of kittens are called a kindle. I love cats and find them funny I have a cat named Mr. Peabody.

6 News of the Weird Cute puppy eyes by Nyana Jackson Did you know that puppy eyes are cute and super creepy too? Did you know they do not open their eyes till they are about 6 weeks old? There are so cute but one thing you don t notice about them is they can hunt good because they sense in their brain nerves just like humans.
