3 PIGEONS AND POULTRY Each year the Pigeons and Poultry Competition attracts more than 1,000 of our feathered friends to Perth s icon event with judging on the first day of the Show and the general public invited to discover the history, diversity and beauty of the birds on display. Pigeons and Poultry have been judged at the Perth Royal Show since at least MISSION STATEMENT To foster excellence and promotion of purebred pigeons and poultry through exhibition and competition. 4 PIGEONS To prevent the spread of a contagious virus affecting WA pigeons, the Australian National Pigeon Association and FUPS Management have cancelled all pigeon shows for 2017 and have recommended a complete lock down. Taking into account this decision and in line with clause 18.1 from the Pigeons and Poultry Schedule, the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia advises that the Pigeon competition at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show has been cancelled. 2

RASWA will not be involved in the transaction and transfer of ownership, which will only be between the seller and the buyer. 9 PIGEONS AND POULTRY GENERAL SHOW REGULATIONS The Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions regulate the conduct of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. Upon acceptance of an entry the Exhibitor is irrevocably contracted to be bound by those General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. A copy of the Society s General Show Regulations may be obtained on application or from the website The following Section Conditions are applicable to all Exhibitors entering exhibits in the Pigeons and Poultry Section. An Exhibitor who breaches any General Show Regulation or Section Condition may be disqualified, or suspended for any period, fined or otherwise penalised. The Society may publish to: a) all Royal Show Societies in Australia; b) the relevant Breed Society; and c) the body with which the Exhibit is registered, or is eligible for registration, the result of any proceedings before the Disciplinary Committee in which a Person has been found to have breached any General Show Regulations or Section Conditions. The Society may recognise and act upon any penalty imposed by any other similar society, organisation or body in Australia on any person or exhibit. It is in the Exhibitors best interests to carefully read all conditions. PROTESTS: Protests must be signed and submitted in writing to the Councillor in Charge or Chief Steward of the section concerned, for submission to the Chief Executive Officer in accordance with the General Show Regulations. DANGEROUS, OBJECTIONABLE OR DISEASED EXHIBITS: The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the Society s General Show Regulation 4.7 and 4.8, with reference to dangerous, objectionable or diseased exhibits. INSURANCE: The Owner/Exhibitor is responsible for the insurance of his or her exhibit whilst the exhibit is on the Society s Showground. PRIZE MONEY: RASWA has a policy whereby all prize money is paid by EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Your banking details will be kept secure and can only be used by RASWA to credit your bank account. Please complete your account details on the entry form even if you have provided them previously. In accordance with the rules of the competition, failure to provide your bank details will mean that any prize money you earn will be forfeited and retained by RASWA. Prize money as stated in the schedule does not include GST. The prize money which the Society pays to successful Exhibitors ("you") depends on the information that you provide to the Society. If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN) the Society will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. The Society will provide to you a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) within 28 days of the day you were successful at your event, detailing the GST which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office (ATO). If any adjustments need to be made, the Society will issue an adjustment note to you within 28 days of the adjustment. Upon entry into the competition and completion and signing of the application form, this form will become a RCTI agreement as required under (Goods and Services Tax) Act Furthermore, you acknowledge your agreement to the following: The Society will issue you a tax invoice in respect of the successful exhibit; You are requested not to issue a tax invoice to the Society in respect to prize money received; It will be necessary for you to notify the Society if you cease to be registered for GST; and The Society will notify you if it ceases to satisfy any of the requirements of the determinations. If you provide your ABN but are not registered for GST, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule. If you are a business Exhibitor and do not provide your ABN to the Society, you will have 46.5% tax deducted from our prize money under the ATO PAYG provisions. If you confirm that you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, the Society will pay the prize money as detailed in the prize schedule LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY: The Society shall not be liable for any damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities arising from the withdrawal of an exhibit. Refer also to the Society s General Show Regulation 17 Liability and Indemnity. PROMOTION: No advertising or promotion on behalf of commercial business will be permitted on the Showground without the prior written consent of the Society s Chief Executive Officer. 7

10 PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT: The information provided by the Exhibitor in the application for entry is collected and used by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) to organise and conduct Competitions at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. We may publish details such as your name, address and exhibit details in any RASWA publication or communication. Such information may also be made available to, and published by, the media. We will not disclose your information without your consent for any other purpose unless required or authorised by law. You may request access to your personal information and, if necessary, request that our records of that information be corrected by writing to the Chief Executive Officer at the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia, PO Box 135, Claremont WA SECTION CONDITIONS 1. REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: 1.1 No refunds will be given for livestock exhibits except where the Society has excess entries in a section or class and is unable to accommodate them. 1.2 If an exhibit is withdrawn, rejected or disqualified by the Society for any reason, the entry fee will NOT be refundable. 2. WITHDRAWAL OF EXHIBIT: 2.1 A Veterinary certificate must be provided to the Society if an exhibit is withdrawn due to illness or injury. 3. REMOVAL OF EXHIBITS: 3.1 The Society may, at its sole discretion, withdraw, reject or disqualify an exhibit. Refer to General Show Regulation COMPLETION OF ENTRIES: 4.1 Exhibitors must supply on their entry forms all the information required, otherwise their entries may be refused. 4.2 No bird may be entered which is not the bona fide property of the Exhibitor at the close of entries. 4.3 Group and Single Entries: No bird in a group class shall be eligible to compete for Single Bird Specials or Championships. 4.4 Junior Exhibitors: At the time of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show the Junior Exhibitor must be between 6 and 16 years old. Entries must be the property of Junior Exhibitor and be a distinct different breed or different variety exhibited by their Parents/Guardian/Grandparents. Junior Exhibitors must pen and unpen their own entries. 4.5 Catalogues: Results Catalogues are available for purchase from the Pigeons and Poultry Pavilion during the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show at a cost of $8.00 from Sunday 24 September Breed Pairs must be made up of one male and one female. 5. RESTRICTION OF ENTRIES: 5.1 The Society reserves the right to limit Exhibitors to three entries per class if it be found, after entries close, that insufficient accommodation will be available. 6. INCORRECT CLASSES: 6.1 If a bird is entered in the wrong class, it will not be allowed to compete and the entry fee will be forfeited to the Society. 7. FAILURE TO EXHIBIT: 7.1 Should any Exhibitor fail to notify the Chief Executive Officer at least 7 days before the first day of the Show of his/her intention to withdraw any exhibit entered, he/she shall be liable to a penalty of $1.00 for every exhibit withdrawn, at Council s discretion. 7.2 Once entries have closed, exhibits cannot be changed. 8. EXHIBITORS PASSES: 8.1 Each Exhibitor, Family of Exhibitors, or Partnership of Exhibitors at the one address will be issued one pass for inspection of birds on any one day of the Show. 8.2 Single Entry Exhibitors: A pass into the Showground will be made available at the time of penning. 8.3 Exhibitors under the age of 18 years who show a different address from their parents, who are also exhibiting, will not be issued with a pass. 8.4 One pass will be issued for the first ten entries (1-10), an additional pass will be issued for each multiple of ten entries entered, to a maximum of four. 2 passes for entries, 3 passes for entries. This pass does not permit vehicle parking within the Showground. 8.5 Please Note: There WILL NOT be any ticket sellers at Gate 11 (Dog Gate) during the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. Only people with passes will be permitted through the gate and all other people must enter through Gate 1 at 9.00am daily opening time. 8

11 9. PREPARATION OF EXHIBITS: 9.1 No trimming, plucking or dyeing of feathers, staining of legs or any fraudulent practice will be allowed. 9.2 Every Exhibitor will be deemed responsible for the condition in which his/her exhibit appears in the pen. It shall be permissible for Exhibitors to dub male game fowl and game bantams. 9.3 Birds must be true to breed, no cross breeds. 10. RINGS: 10.1 Ringed Poultry will be accepted but it is not compulsory. 11. PENNING: 11.1 Exhibitors must pen their birds on: Friday 22 September 2017 between 2.00pm and 8.00pm. Pavilion will close at 8.00pm sharp. All penning must be completed by then Exhibitors residing 100km or more from the Showground may PEN their birds on the Saturday morning by 8.30am sharp Containers, crates and boxes must be removed from the pavilion after penning Junior Exhibitors must pen and unpen their own entries Please refer to the map on page 6 for delivery location. 12. UNPENNING: 12.1 Exhibitors Please Note: All sale bird pens will be locked on the last Saturday afternoon of the Show before the unpenning on the Sunday morning between 7.30am and 10.30am only. There will be no birds removed on the Saturday afternoon. ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE REMOVED between 7.30am and 10.30am Sunday. Birds left after 10.30am will be the Owners responsibility NOT RASWA. There will be no unpenning on the Saturday afternoon of the Show. Please refer to the map on page 6 for collection location. The pavilion will be locked after that time. Any birds left after 10.30am on Sunday 1 October 2017 will be the responsibility of the Exhibitor and not RASWA or Stewards. Junior Exhibitors must pen and unpen their own entries. All Stewards and Committee members on hand must supervise the unpenning. No birds will be unlocked and removed from the pens by Exhibitors, without the above in attendance and with their exhibit forms. Committee members and Stewards who have birds in the Show must help others first with the unpenning. It will be the Exhibitors responsibility and not the Committee, to make sure they have the right birds before leaving the pavilion. All Exhibitors will have to have patience with the removal of the birds for the benefit of all fanciers No exhibit is to be removed from the pavilion until authorised by the Chief Steward. A Livestock Release Authority form which MUST be signed by the RASWA Chief Steward of the pavilion, will be issued to each Exhibitor Crating: During crating only Exhibitors and their assistants will be permitted in the hall. Stewards will supervise the unpenning of exhibits NOTE: EGGS LAID DURING THE 2017 IGA PERTH ROYAL SHOW BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE ROYAL AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY AND MAY NOT BE REMOVED BY ANY EXHIBITOR. 13. PUBLIC DISPLAY: 13.1 The John O Meehan Pavilion will be open to the public between the hours of 9.00am to 6.00pm from Saturday 23 to Saturday 30 September FEEDING AND WATERING: 14.1 Exhibits will be fed and watered by the Society free of charge. Exhibitors cannot feed their own birds unless permission is received from the Chief Steward A variety of water drinkers is available to meet the requirements of different breeds. 15. ADVERTISING: 15.1 No notice or advertisement, other than that authorised by the Society, shall appear on any show pen, or anywhere in the pavilion. 16. SALE OF EXHIBITS: 16.1 Birds may be offered for sale at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. This should be nominated on the entry form A flat fee of $10.00 will be charged to every Exhibitor who wishes to sell birds during the Show RASWA will not be involved in the transaction and transfer of ownership, which will only be between the seller and the buyer. 9

12 17. VETERINARY SERVICES: 17.1 Veterinary Officer will be on call throughout the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show to provide services to injured or sick livestock. Exhibitors requiring services will be responsible for payment for all services rendered The Veterinary Office and Medication Control Centre is located at the corner of Edgar Avenue and the Cattle Lanes The duty Veterinary Officer can be contacted 24 hours a day, through the Asset Service s Office Phone Extension No s or Asset Service can also be contacted on after 9.00pm each night. 18. DANGEROUS OR DISEASED EXHIBITS: 18.1 The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to General Show Regulation 4.7 and 4.8, with reference to dangerous, objectionable or diseased exhibits All birds found unwell will be removed from the pavilion and the Exhibitor notified to pick up the bird(s). Department of Agriculture ruling on inspection and removal of such birds. 19. JUDGING: 19.1 Will commence on Saturday 23 September 2017 at 9.00am Judges may withhold premier awards, special prizes, championship certificates etc., if in their opinion such awards are not warranted. However, where there are five or more exhibits, a Judge may, in addition to first and second prizes, award a third prize if warranted Judging standards will be those recognised by the Australian Standard or the British Poultry Standard where applicable A Judge who enters the competition must notify the Councillor in Charge and arrange an alternative option to deliver their exhibit/s. Either by arranging a suitable time to deliver the exhibit/s prior to the allocated penning times or a representative to deliver the exhibit/s on their behalf Judges must not award prizes, including Champions and Reserve Champions, even where there is no competition, if in the Judge s opinion the exhibits are not of Royal Show standard or are not suitable for the class in which they are competing. Judges may award a second or third prize instead of a first prize if deemed appropriate Best of Breed certificates will be awarded to all varieties of Poultry providing there are six (6) or more entries nominated in that variety Where Judges are unable to agree on the Reserve Champion and Grand Champion Award, the Chief Steward is empowered to appoint an independent Judge No person, Exhibitor or otherwise, may in any way hinder or interfere with a Judge or Steward in the discharge of his duties No person, Exhibitor or otherwise, may in any way communicate with a Judge or Steward, until all awards have been made and all cards displayed upon the show pens The recorded opinion of the Judge as to merit will be final. 20. COLLECTION OF TROPHIES: 20.1 The Society will not be responsible for awards and trophies that have not been collected by 31 December CLUB BANNERS: 21.1 All Pigeon, Poultry and Waterfowl Clubs may display their banners in the pavilion provided they are delivered to RASWA by 1 September AWARDS: 22.1 No first place will be awarded if in the Judge s opinion any bird in a class shall be deemed not worthy of this place. It shall be in the Society s absolute discretion as to whether it replaces, repairs or pays for replacement or repair of goods. It shall be further in the Society s discretion as to whether it re-supplies or pays the cost of re-supply or services Indemnity To the maximum extent permitted by law, each Competitor and Exhibitor must indemnify and keep indemni ed the Society and its of cers, employees, members and Agents from and, against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities including without limitation, consequential loss and loss of pro ts for which the Society is or may be become liable in respect of or arising from: (a) (b) (c) loss, damage or injury to any person in connection with the Exhibit or the relevant Event; without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to any other Exhibit or Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, Agents, or to the property of the Society, or its members, or to the general public, caused or contributed to or by any act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees or Agents; and without limiting sub-regulation (a) loss, damage or injury to the Exhibit, or the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, or Agents caused or contributed by an act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the transportation, feeding or housing of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor Remo al of E ibit Without prejudice to any other provision of these Regulations, where the Society, its of cers, employees, members or Agents remove an Exhibit, or causes an Exhibit to be removed from the Showground, the Exhibit is removed or caused to be removed entirely at the risk of the Exhibitor. The person or persons removing the Exhibit will be deemed to be the Agent of the Exhibitor, and his or 22 her acts and omissions will be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the Exhibitor.

25 ANIMAL / LIVESTOCK OWNERS / EXHIBITORS PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia ( Society ) has a Public Liability insurance policy in the interests of Owners / Exhibitors of Animals / Livestock entering competitions in accordance with the Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. INSURED PARTIES: Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) of Animal / Livestock Exhibits upon payment of Entry fees and provided such Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) comply with all requirements herein together with the Society s General Show Regulations and Section Conditions. Failure to comply may render the Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) personally liable for any claims that may arise as a result of any incident to which they may have contributed. PERIOD OF INSURANCE: For the period the Animals / Livestock are on the Society s Claremont Showground, Claremont, Western Australia for the purposes of the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show. INSURED ACTIVITIES: All activities undertaken whilst within the con nes of the Society s Claremont Showground, Claremont, Western Australia consistent with the (Business) Insured Parties Animal / Livestock Exhibit activity. DESCRIPTION OF COVER: Insurance in respect of the Insured Parties liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of, or damage to, third party property and death of, or injury to, third party persons caused by, and arising out of, the Insured Parties activities, all subject to the Society s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties etc. AMOUNT OF COVER: $150,000,000 any one occurrence. Excess: $10,000 each and every claim. It should be noted that the payment of the excess in the event of a claim is the responsibility of the Owner/s / Exhibitor/s. JURISDICTION: Australia. TERRITORY: INSURER: Lloyds of London and others as listed on policies held by the Society. IMPORTANT CONDITIONS: The Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s) must: 1. exercise reasonable care to maintain all premises, ttings and plant in sound condition; 2. take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury and damage to persons and property; 3. promptly comply with any request made by the Royal Agricultural Society of WA which it may, at its sole discretion, require of an Owner(s) / Exhibitor(s); 4. give immediate notice: a) of an incident that may give rise to a claim; or b) if in receipt of advice of a claim; 5. not make any admission, offer or promise in connection with any claim and must not at any time admit liability; 6. make themselves aware of, and comply with, the policy conditions including duty of disclosure.
