The contest is going on NOW! Artwork must be received by Dec. 3., Judging will take place in December, and then artwork will be put on display at the dog show on January 16-20, WHO can participate? ANY child in 1st - 12th grade. Any state, any school. We want students from all around the country to celebrate dogs! WHAT is the theme? The theme for 2019 is: "Dogs around the world and the jobs they do!" Visit the "posts" section on our Facebook page for ideas, links, and resources. (Facebook.com/Rose-City-Classic-Student- Art-Contest) What do I WIN? Money! Grand prize (Best in Show) wins: $100 VISA gift card and a $250 donation to their school's art department. 1st - 4th place winners awarded in EACH age category: Grades th place: $25 3rd: $50 2nd: $75 1st: $100 A winning design is selected to be put on t-shirts that we sell at the show. 2 Does it cost anything to enter? No. It is free to enter! We do ask that if you are outside of the Portland-metro area that you mail in your artwork, which will require a small postage fee. Do I have to have a dog to enter? No! You don't need your own dog, you don't even need to draw your own dog. The contest is open to anyone with imagination and creativity to depict dogs of the world and the jobs they do. WHEN is the deadline? Artwork must be received by Monday, Dec. 3, WHERE do I send art? Artwork may be dropped off or mailed to: Rose City Classic Student Art Contest 1445 NW 185th Ave Aloha, OR Each entry must have an entry form attached (see below).. How many drawings can I send in? Only 1 entry per student, please. No group projects. Can my classroom send in artwork? We LOVE when entire classrooms submit art. We encourage teachers to share this project with their kids. Remember: Best in Show receives a $250 donation to their school's art department! I'm not going to attend the show. Can I still enter? YES! Even if you won't be at the show, or if you are out of state, we want your submission! All students are eligible for the prizes, even if you can't attend the show.
3 Will I get my artwork back? We will do absolutely everything we can to get your artwork back to you and your students. We ask that you provide a legible return address and that mailed artwork be matted on a poster board or cardboard (to prevent bending). What is the Rose City Classic? An exciting 5 days of dogs dogs dogs and dog shows in Portland, OR every January. Visit: for more details! I have more questions. Who do I contact?
