2 To the buyers: Welcome to the 2017 Hettinger Ram Sale! The North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association has made every attempt to ensure a high-quality offering of purebred and commercial rams. 1. All rams have been sifted by a committee of three breeders and a veterinarian. Rams have been Elisa tested within 30 days of sale or are from current Brucella Ovis-free flocks. 2. All rams must originate from flocks that have been inspected and found free of foot rot. 3. Minimum weight and scrotal circumference: Yearlings 220 pounds and 32 centimeters Lambs 120 pounds and 30 centimeters 4. All animals must be bred and owned by the seller. 5. Registration papers and the cost of transfer are strictly between the buyer and seller. 6. All rams will be guaranteed breeders (ram lambs are not subject to a guarantee in the year of purchase). The guarantee is between the buyer and seller. 7. Health papers will be available for out-of-state buyers. 8. The catalog is arranged in the sale order by breeds, then individual breeders. Rams sell first, then ewes. Ewes will be sold at gate cut. 9. Phone bids will be accepted by the Sale Committee and NDLWPA board members. See numbers below. Please enjoy viewing this year s consignments and visiting with your fellow sheep producers. Sincerely, David Brown, Executive Secretary of NDLWPA or ndlwpa@gmail.com Brody Kronberg, Sale Committee, Dave Pearson, Sale Committee Julie Mangnall, Sale Clerk Mangnall@drtel.net or Hettinger Ram Sale 2017

Columbias work well as a terminal sire or mother breed. Columbias have long been used nationwide to improve a majority of the flocks and breeds. With Columbia, you will find those characteristics that you desire. Columbias have been used to bring the following traits to many of the nation s flocks: Size, scale, dimension Maternal traits Milk production heavy milkers Pounds of wool per ewe Pounds of lamb Carcass Larger rib eye Columbias are the leader in the commercial industry because of their superior maternal traits; heavy, dense fleeces; feed efficiency; and fast growing, vibrant lambs. 8 Hettinger Ram Sale 2017

9 They possess carcass qualities that allow them to be highly competitive with the market lamb breeds. For more than 100 years, our producers have experienced higher profits from their sheep, with more pounds of wool and lamb, plus less labor costs. From east to west, Columbias can work in any flock to improve the bottom line for the producer.
