15 A one year process to nominate candidates and prepare the short-list for elections This timeline indicates the eventual nomination and selection process that will operate each election cycle. For elections in May 2018 at the 86th General Session, the process starts in July The application and the endorsement of the Delegate must be submitted by the applicant via the online registration portal by 2 October July Call for Experts sent to all OIE Delegates, distributed through Reference Centre network and posted to OIE website, along with application forms and criteria Nov Dec Evaluation of applications by Evaluation Committee against defined criteria February OIE Council review and confirm shortlist for elections May Elections during the General Session October January March June-July OIE HQ screening of applications for completeness and eligibility Director General endorsement of Evaluation Committee recommendati ons Candidates confirm availability List of candidates profiles sent to OIE Delegates Form Specialist Commissions for first meetings in September World Organisation for Animal Health Protecting animals, Preserving our future 15
