1 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials 444 North Capitol Street, N.W., Suite 249 Washington, D.C The Special Committee on U.S. Route Numbering met on Friday, May 6, 2005 and took action on several applications made by the AASHTO member departments. At its meeting on May 7, 2005, in Galloway, NJ, the AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways approved the following applications made by member departments to the Special Committee on U.S. Route Numbering. This is all current and conditions have been satisfied were noted. Member DOT Requested Action Description Relocation of U.S. Route 280 Project A: Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 280 and a new facility under construction south of Camp Hill, northwesterly over the new facility for 2.5 miles to the intersection of present US Route 280. Project B: Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 280 and a new facility under construction in Jackson Gap, westerly over the new facility 1.5 miles to the intersection of present US Route 280. Relocation of U.S. Route 84 Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 84 and State Road 12 southwesterly of Opp continuing miles to the northeast side of Opp and ending at the intersection of State Road 12 and the intersection of present US Route 84. Relocation of US Route 331 Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 331 and US Route 84southwesterly of Opp continuing miles to the northeast side of Opp and ending at the intersection of State Road 12 and the intersection of present US Route 84. U.S. Route 84 U.S. Route 331 Route 84 and an existing facility east of the intersection that continues northeast for miles to Opp and ending at the intersection of US Route 331 and present route US Route 84. Route 331 and US Route 84 south of Opp and continuing north for miles and ending at the present intersection of US Route 331. Relocation of U.S. Route 431 Beginning south of Seale (north of Villula) at the intersection of present US Route 431, northwesterly over an existing facility that continues for miles and ends at the present intersection of US Route 431 north of Seale. U.S. Route 78 Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 78 and an existing facility northwest of Jasper, then northwesterly over the facility for 53.3 miles to the intersection of present US Route 78 near Hamilton
2 Florida Relocation of U.S. Route 98 Beginning at North Florida Avenue and East Memorial Boulevard and connects back that South Lake Parker Avenue and South Bartow Road. Present route US 98 is a 2.14 mile portion between Lake Parker Avenue and Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida, to a 1.71 mile route. Florida Relocation of US Route 41 Route 41 and state road 80 near Fort Myers, one-way soutbound (Fowler Street from state road 80 to state road 82) and one-way northbound (Evans and Park Avenue from state road 82 to state road 80) which covers.9 miles of area. Indiana Relocation of US Route 231 Between Indiana Route 66 and Kentucky State Line for.23 miles. Beginning at the present intersection US Route 231 and state road 66 and crossing the William H. Natcher Bridge northeast of Rockport to the Kentucky State Line at US Route 60. Iowa Relocation of US Route 18 Beginning at the intersection of present W. Jct. US Route 218/Ia14/Ia27 and an existing facility west of Charles City then southerly and easterly over the facility for 3.57 miles to the E. Jct. US Route 218/Ia27, then northerly over an existing facility for miles to the intersection of present US Route 18 in Charles City. Iowa Relocation of US Route 34 Beginning at the intersection of present US Route 34 and a new facility being constructed northwest of Danville, then southerly and easterly over the facility for miles to the intersection of present US Route 34 in West Burlington. Kansas Relocation of US Route 77 Beginning at milepost 237 to milepost 236 will become the extension of US 77 (1 mile) and then from milepost 237 to mile post 234 will become the new US 77 Kansas Relocation of US Route 166 Beginning at present US 166 at milepost 141 joins US Route 77 and follows US 77 for 2 miles then joins US 77 at milepost 143 for 1 mile and leaves US 77 at new mile milepost 144 and continues on the present US Route 166. Kentucky Relocation of US Route 231 Beginning at the Indiana State Line and US Route 231 crossing the William H. Natcher Bridge over the Ohio River east for 3.9 miles and ending at the intersection of US Route 60 near Maceo. Louisiana Elimination of US Route (partial) US 65 Beginnning at present intersection of US Route 65 and existing facility at Clayton, east of Dunbarton and ending at the state line west of Natchez, MS (58 miles). 2
3 Louisiana Extension of US Route 425 Beginning at present intersection of US Route 425 at Bastrop where it joins US Route 165, south and proceed south to the state line for miles. Mississippi Elimination of US Route 65 Beginning at present intersection of US Route 425 and the state line southeasterly for 7 miles to the present intersection at US Route 61 at Natchez. This section renumbers the present US Route 65 between the same points. Mississippi Establishment of US Route 425 Beginning at present intersection of US Route 425 and the state line southeasterly for 7 miles to the present intersection at US Route 61 at Natchez. Missouri Relocation of US Route 60 Beginning at present intersection US Route 60 at Van Buren continuing east for 13.6 miles to Ellsinore where it ends. This project widens to this US route to a 4-lane divided highway and eliminates horizontal and vertical curves. Missouri Nevada Recognition of a Route on US Route 160 Establishment of a Route on US Route 395 Route 160 at the City of Willard a new US 160 will proceed from this point through Willard overlapping an existing facility for 1.9 milesto the interesection of the present US Route 160. Beginning at present intersection of US Route 395 and north Carson City US Route 395 will run south for 5.79 miles through the city and rejoining US 395 and the intersection of US 50 west. (Phase I, 2006) Nevada Relocation of US Route 395 Beginning at the present interesection of US Route 395 and Bonanza Drive, Carson City in the north end of the city to southeasterly for 3.03 miles and ending at the intersection of the US Route 50 North Interchange. (Phase II, 2010) North Carolina Relocation of a US Route 221/421 Between.10 miles east of SR 1655 and intersection of US 421 North Carolina Relocation of US Route 17 Between 17/74/76/421 west of Wilmington and US 17/Future I-140 northeast of Wilmington North Carolina Extension of US Route 17 Between intersection of US 17S/74W and Interchange of future I-140 North Carolina Relocation of US Route 17 Between.35 miles north of SF 1117 and the eastern intersection of proposed US 17 North Carolina Relocation of US Route US 311 Between intersection of I-85Bus/US29/70 and intersection of SF 1979 North Carolina Establishment of US Route 311 Between I-85 Bus/US 29/70 and intersection of proposed relocation of US 311 North Carolina Relocation of US Route 421 Between SR 1130 in Yadkin County and.30 miles north of SF 2401 in Wilkes County 3
