1 Chimera Requirements Analysis Bryan Swords & Hudson Klebs IS4300 Problem Chimera looks to give users the ability to create the perfect pet for their needs and desires. Currently, potential pet owners have to do a lot of research, and invest a lot of time and energy into finding a pet that suits their needs. With Chimera, that process will be a thing of the past. Build a pet from an assortment of animal parts, define its personality and abilities, and have it delivered to your door. This is the ideal, convenient pet finding experience that Chimera will bring to the real world. Users Primary Stakeholders The user population of Chimera are those looking for a convenient way to get a new, unique pet. This will include a very wide range of people in terms of age, economic status, social status, and more. Secondary Stakeholders The secondary stakeholders of Chimera are all of the individuals who will interact with the pets created once the user has his/hers delivered. They will not interact with the app directly, but will experience the output of our product. Tertiary Stakeholders Breeders and other outlets of pets are tertiary stakeholders as our product will impact their business. This task is performed infrequently, only when getting a pet is desired. Often with new children or the death of a previous pet. With the many different kinds of pets this can be a time consuming task. The precondition of preference they have for a certain pet the more their search can be refined and the time can be lessened. The task is learned better by performing it and getting to know preferences for certain pets. Anyone else who has a say in choosing the pet such as spouse or other family members are involved in the task.

3 Purchasing a pet from a pet store This task is performed by visiting a pet store, or similar location to purchase a pet. It shares the same frequency as task 1, in some cases even lower because you do not always purchase a pet after choosing which one you would like. The time constraint is low, requiring a short visit to a pet store which can be increased depending on how far it is. It then costs a varying amount of money based on the pet being purchased. A common precondition is to have chosen what kind of pet and breed you will be getting before coming, but it is possible to go and decide based on what they have. Problems could be that the store does not have the pet you planned to get. This can be done with one person or optionally family members.

4 Training a pet, such as a dog to be a therapy dog This task can be done at home, but most often is done at a group training location. Usually it is weekly classes attended by the owner and their pet. It will cost the user money and require them to spend their time attending the classes. Some problems include having to miss a class, being set back, and losing the money put in. Since it is often a group training program the trainer and other group members are all part of completing this task together. Problem Scenarios Finding a new pet Doug's girlfriend has been hinting at wanting a pet for a while and since her birthday is coming up he decides to start looking into surprising her with one. He begins by researching online and taking note of all the different options. After reading through three different sites and getting a lot of information he has to head off to work and continue later. The next morning, he picks back where he left off and is starting to get tired of all the work he has to put into this. He wants a pet that he will like also so he spends time trying to compare features of all the different ones available as well as fitting into his price range. He scours different sources for all this information and still isn't finished before he has to go to sleep for work again the next day.

5 Purchasing a pet from a pet store Amanda and her family have decided to get a beagle to replace their late family dog and give the kids a companion. She was going to go pick it up when she got out of work at 5 pm but her two youngest kids insisted that they accompany her to help pick out their new dog. Amanda thus had to drive 20 minutes home first to pick them up then another 25 to get back to the pet store that was near her work. She had called yesterday to make sure there was a beagle for them and was met by a quick yes from the employee before they hung up. When she arrived at the store she learned that there had been only one beagle available and a woman had come in that morning to get it. She doesn't have the time now to look elsewhere so she heads home with two crying kids. She then spends her free time after work the next day trying to find another place to get a beagle. Training a pet, such as a dog to be a therapy dog Jerry has just purchased a golden retriever for himself as a new companion since his wife passed away and he is getting older and it is hard to go out. He has been active and healthy for a while now but he knows that won't last. He is feeling increasingly lonely because of his deteriorating age, even with his new dog. After talking to a friend who has owned a dog for a long time, he makes the decision to get his dog trained as a therapy dog to provide more comfort. He signs up for a class that his friend recommends and begins attending with his dog. It is once a week on Tuesday evenings which works fine for him with all his free time. After a few classes he has an accident in his backyard while doing some yard work. The fall fractured his hip and he isn't able to put the time in anymore to continue the classes with his dog. His friend brings the dog for two classes but can't keep it up with their other responsibilities. Jerry ends up not being able to finish the course and getting his dog certified. This means he can't have his dog with him at the hospital and will have to hire someone to take care of them. Usability Metrics 1. Users will make 3 or less mistakes after successfully designing a pet one time and trying again a week later 2. Users will score a 7 or higher on a satisfaction scale of 1 to 10 after completing a pet order once 3. Users will successfully complete the design of a pet in 15 minutes or less after being introduced to the system for the first time
