NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and NATIONAL AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP National Championship Stake: Open to any AKC registered English Setter, six months of age and over on the first advertised day of the trial, which has placed first, second, third, or fourth in any Open Gun Dog, Open Limited Gun Dog, Amateur Gun Dog, Amateur Limited Gun Dog Stake, Open All-Age Stake, or Amateur All-Age Stake at an AKC licensed or member field trial. The National Championship will be a 45 minute single course without bird field. The National Amateur Championship will be 45 minute course discretion) without bird field. Horseback handling will be permitted. A second series if any will be at the discretion of the judges. All dogs competing in either Championship must submit an AKC DNA profile and must be micro-chipped. Micro-chips will be scanned on the grounds before each dog is run. The Kunde's dog Highground Jax Jabba has run in the last three American Field National Championships held at the Ames Plantation. The Kundes are developing their ranch as premium filed trial grounds. The property is used year round. The ranch is used as a retreat, hunting lodge for deer and chukar and the site of American Field and AKC Trials. The ranch hosts the American Field Region 10 Championships for two weeks in October annually. There are over 2,000 acres available on the ranch without cross fencing. the land lends itself to a one-hour course. Grounds Surrounding Area Description The buckhorn ranch is located in north central Oregon south of the Columbia River. The ranch is 46 miles south of Interstate I 84 on Oregon HWY 19. It is one hour NE of Madras Oregon on US 97 and on Oregon HWY 218. See attached map. the town of Condon Oregon is minutes from the grounds and has a motel and an upscale hotel. Condon has several places to eat including fast food, restaurants, and a grocery store and several tourist traps. The town of Fossil is minutes from the grounds and has similar amenities available. Local veterinarians are available to all animals. The Portland Airport is two hours away and the Bend Oregon Airport is also two hours away. 3 Directions: From the South: Take US 97 North from Weed CA to Madras, OR. Approximately 20 miles north of Madras take 218 north toward Fossil take highway 19 to Mayville. Outside of Mayville take Cemetery Road (hanging a right at the end and then a left on to Buckhorn Road) From the North: Take US 97 south to Wasco. Take 208 south to Condon. Take route 19 south. About 8 miles out of Condon take Wehrli Canyon to the right. Take a right on Buckhorn Road. From the East: From I 84 West take 19 south in Arlington, OR Proceed about 8 miles out of Condon to right on Wehrli Canyon Road. Take a right onto Buckhorn Road. Signs will be posted at the turns to the grounds at highway 19.

Additional Information Submitting your entries: Entries for the National Championships and Field Trial will be accepted by MAIL only no phone, FAX, or entries allowed. Entries must be accompanied by full payment. Make checks payable to: ESAA, Inc. Checks and money orders must be drawn on US banks. Sign the waiver of signature if you are using Express mail service. The field trial secretary will not pick up FedEX or UPS deliveries that cannot be delivered to her home. Proof of the DNA profile and microchip company and number must be provided to the National Field Trial Secretary along with the entry. If a DNA number is still processing then a temporary number must be obtained from the AKC and listed on the entry along with microchip company and number. The ESAA microchip scanner is a Home Again ISO scanner. It scans all canine chips National Championship Stake: Microchips will be scanned the night before the National Field Championship Stake begins. The microchip will be scanned a second time when the dogs come to the line. Bitches in Season: Bitches in season may compete in both the National Championship and the National Amateur Championship stakes under AKC Field Trial Rules and Procedures for Pointing Breeds Running Orders: Running orders will be placed on the ESAA website ( under the 2013 NFT link, by September 7. Basic requirements are: Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued less than 30 days prior to entry Import permit issued by this office. For a permit, the veterinarian or clinic staff calls Negative test for Equine Infectious Anemia less than 6 months prior to entry. Tests with "pending" results are not acceptable (Oregon will accept either the ELISA test or the AGID test sometimes called a called a "Coggins test") Exceptions - The following are exempt from the EIA test requirement: 1.
