3 Notice to Exhibitors The North West Silken Windhound Society (NWSWS), International Silken Windhound Society (ISWS), United Kennel Club (UKC) and Large Gazehound Racing Association (LGRA), their members, show committee, and volunteers assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to any dog, handler, exhibitor, attendee, spectator, any other person, or any person s personal property whether the result of accident or any other cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this event and on this property is in the care, custody, and control of its owner/handler during the entire time the dog(s) are on the premises. By agreeing to attend this event in any capacity you are agreeing to absolve NWSWS, ISWS, UKC and LGRA from any responsibility including, but not limited to, any and all loss, damage, or injury to or by any dog, person or property. Entries: Exhibitors are advised to print legibly when filling out forms. All entries will be put in the catalog EXACTLY how they are listed on the entry forms. Owners are responsible for any errors on entry forms. No dog wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class after close of entries, except where puppies are entered in the wrong age group, they may be transferred by the show secretary to the appropriate age group. In the ISWS Specialty, any dogs receiving their championship after they have sent in their entries may be transferred into the Best of Breed class by the show secretary. In the UKC Specialty, any dogs having received their respective championships (champion, grand champion, etc.) after having sent in their entries must be moved to the next level class by the show secretary. Once received no entry fees will be refunded for any reason. ALL ENTRIES CLOSE AT 10:00 P.M. PST ON AUGUST 10, 2013 AND MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF THE EVENT SECRETARY ALONG WITH ACCOMPANYING FEES ON OR BEFORE THEN. POST MARKED DATES DO NOT COUNT AS THE ENTRY HAVING BEEN RECEIVED, ONLY WHEN IT ARRIVES IN THE HANDS OF THE EVENT SECRETARY IS AN ENTRY RECEIVED. When making reservations, please be sure to let staff know that you will have dogs with you and check pet limits & fees. No Personal Photography during Winners Portraits following conformation shows and performance events. WASTE: Containers will be placed around the premises. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET. It is not our responsibility to clean up after your animals and we prefer you to dispose of it in the provided containers. Please be respectful of the facilities. A minimum $10 fine will be imposed for failure to do so. Declination of Entries: NWSWS reserves the right to decline to accept and/or to remove any dog due to disease, viciousness, or other cause and no one shall have any claim against the aforementioned club, committee or individual for such action. No refund of any entry fees will be made. Exhibitor Responsibilities: All dogs must be held on leash or confined to their crates/pens while on the premises unless participating in an event. It is expressly understood that the exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Each owner and/or Agent listed on the entry form and/or individual responsible for the dog at the show is bound by the Agreement below regardless of who may have completed and submitted the entry form. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class, trial or meet. Per UKC rules, an entry will only be called to the ring three times before the class proceeds without that entry. Owners, handlers or agents are responsible for the presence of the dog in the appropriate location when they are called. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, show or racing secretary or clerk, nor any other volunteer to make sure a dog is present where appropriate at the required time.

5 ISWS SPECIALTY CLASSES ALL Puppy and the month class registrations are determined by the age of the puppy on the day of the show, not the date of the entry or registration. Unless otherwise noted, classes will be judged by sex with dogs being judged first. REGULAR CLASSES FOR BOTH DOGS AND BITCHES 6-9 months For puppies that are at least 6 but less than 9 months old on the date of the show months For puppies that are at least 9 but less than 12 months old on the date of the show. First place in each of these puppy classes will compete for Best Puppy in Show with the Jr. Puppy Winners months At least 12 months of age and less than 18 months old and are not champions of record on the show date. Novice At least 6 months of age or older and has not, at the close of entries, had three (3) first placements in the Novice Class, nor a first place in the Bred By Exhibitor or Open Classes, nor 3 or more Points towards their ISWS championship. Bred By Exhibitor The Bred By Exhibitor Class has the following requirements: * Six months of age or older on the date of the show; * Not an ISWS champion of record on the date of the show; * Owned or co-owned by any of the breeders of record on the show date; * Handler must be a breeder of record and an owner of this dog. In any subsequent classes for which the dog becomes eligible, there are no handler restrictions. American Bred Open All dogs, except champions, who are six months of age or older that were whelped in the US by reason of a mating that occurred in the US. Open to any dog 6 months of age or older who has not earned an ISWS Championship. * * * * * * * * * WHO GOES TO WINNERS? WHO GOES TO BEST OF BREED??? This consists of undefeated dogs or bitches of the same sex, which have won first place in any of the regular classes above. After Winners Dog or Winner's Bitch is awarded, the dog that took second place in the same class as the Winner's Dog/Bitch comes in to compete for Reserve Winners. * * * * * * * * * * * Best of Breed competition will consist of all ISWS Champions of record, plus Winner's Dog, Winner's Bitch, Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran Bitch. The Judge also chooses, Best of Winners, Best of Opposite & Best Veteran from this group. ISWS NON-REGULAR CLASSES Puppy 3-6 months Companion Stud Dog/Brood Bitch Veteran For puppies at least 3 but less than 6 months old on the date of the event. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Jr. Puppy in Show and Best Puppy in Show. Open to spayed & neutered dogs/bitches as well as intact dogs/bitches. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Companion in Show. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch, along with up to three (3) of his/her get must appear in the ring together. The Stud Dog or Brood Bitch does not need to be entered in any other classes, but all get presented in the class must be entered in another class to be eligible to appear in this class. Stud Dog/Brood Bitch may be altered. Owner of Stud Dog/Brood Bitch need not be the owner of the shown get. Dogs and bitches over 7 years of age. Dog and Bitch class winners will compete for Best Veteran and in the Best of Breed competition and may be altered. Brace Two dogs, irrespective of sex, who are owned by the same owner. This class shall be determined on 40% conformation, 40% matching looks and 20% difficulty of the match. A brace is defined as two dogs of the same breed that are similar in appearance, performing in unison and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Entries must be intact. Entries do not need to be entered in any other class. Jr. Handler Novice Junior (under 12) and Novice Senior (12-18). The winner of each class will compete for Best Jr. Handler. 8 AGREEMENT I/we agree that the club and the persons holding this event have the right to refuse this entry for any cause, which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to compete for prizes, ribbons or trophies, I/we agree to hold NWSWS, ISWS, UKC and LGRA, their respective members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents, event secretaries, and committee members, as well as the owner/lessee of the premises and any providers of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, including but not limited to judges, secretaries, and stewards, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I/we personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; I/we further agree to hold all the aforementioned parties in this agreement harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog; I/we hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend, and save all the aforementioned parties harmless from all loss and expense (including all legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death, at any times resulting there from, sustained by any person or persons, including myself/ourselves or on account of damage to property, arising out of, or as a consequence of, my/our participation in this event, however such injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not to the same parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. UKC CLASSES ALL class registrations are determined by the age of the dog on the day of the show, not the date of the entry or registration. Unless otherwise noted, classes will be judged by sex with dogs being judged first. Per UKC rules, it is each individual judge's discretion as to whether or not to allow baiting. Our Judge, CAROL GAINES, does NOT allow bait in the ring. For dogs three years of age and older that have not attained their Champion or Grand Champion title. For dogs six months of age or older that have not attained their Champion or Grand Champion title, and that are handled in this class by a breeder of record at UKC, or by a member of the immediate family of a breeder of record. * * * * * * * * HOW IS BEST MALE, FEMALE AND WINNERS DECIDED? * * * * * * * * * The Judge shall select a single winner in this class. This class shall consist of the first place winners of the Puppy Male, Junior Male, Intermediate (Senior) Male, Adult Male and Breeder/Handler Male classes. The Judge shall select a single winner in this class. This class shall consist of the second place winner (if there is one) from the class from which the Best Male was selected, and the remaining first place class winners that competed for Best Male. The Judge shall select a single winner in this class. This class shall consist of the first place winners of the Puppy Female, Junior Female, Intermediate(Senior) Female, Adult Female and Breeder/Handler Female classes. The Judge shall select a single winner in this class. This class shall consist of the second place winner (if there is one) from the class from which the Best Female was selected, and the remaining first place class winners that competed for Best Female. This class shall consist of the winner of the Best Male class and the winner of the Best Female class. This class shall not be held unless both Best Male and Best Female are awarded. * * * * * * * *

9 Champion Grand Champion Best of Breed (Mixed gender class.) This class shall consist of dogs & bitches that have earned their UKC Champion title. The Judge shall select a Champion class winner and a Reserve Champion class winner in this class. (Mixed gender class.) This class shall consist of dogs & bitches that have earned their UKC Grand Champion title. The Judge shall select a single winner in this class. This class shall consist of the winner of the Grand Champion class, the winner of the Champion class, and the winner of the Best of Winners class. If the Best of Winners class is not held due to lack of competition, the Best Male or Best Female that is present shall compete in the Best of Breed class. The Judge shall select a single winner in this class WHO IS DEEMED BEST OF BREED. * * * * * * * * ** * * * * JR. SHOWMANSHIP Pee-Wee Sub-Junior Junior Classes Novice Junior Open Junior Senior Classes Novice Senior Open Senior Best Junior Handler Classes are divided by the age of the Junior Handler and not by the age of the dog. This class is for children two years and under four years of age. A parent/guardian/adult must be present in the ring and are allowed to assist children in the presentation of their dog to ensure that dogs are under control at all times. No placements will be made in this class. Awards or ribbons will be given to each participant. This class is for children four years and under eight years of age. A parent/guardian/adult must be present in the ring and are allowed to assist children in the presentation of their dog to ensure that dogs are under control at all times. No placements will be made in this class. Awards or ribbons will be given to each participant. These classes are for children 8 years and under 13 years of age. This class is for any Junior Member who has never earned a Best Junior Handler award with competition or who has not earned three first place wins from the Novice Junior class. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in this class. This class is for any Junior Member who has earned a Best Junior Handler award with competition from the Novice Junior class or who has earned three first place wins from the Novice Junior class with competition. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in this class. These classes are for children 13 years of age and under 18 years of age. This class is for any Senior member who has never earned a Best Junior Handler award with competition or who has not earned three first place wins from the Novice Junior class with competition. This class is for any Junior Member who has earned a Best Junior Handler award with competition from the Novice Junior class or Novice Senior class who has earned three first place wins from the Novice Junior or Novice Senior class with competition. Best Junior Handler class shall consist of the first place winner from the Novice Junior class, the Open Junior Class, the Novice Senior Class and the Open Senior Class. For intact dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age that are permanently registered with UKC as of the day of the show, or that have a valid Temporary Listing (TL) number as of the day of the show, or that are not yet permanently registered but that are from litters registered with UKC as of the day of the show. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in these classes. Best of Breed Novice Puppy. This class shall consist of the winners of the Novice Male class and the Novice Female class. The judge shall select a single winner in this class. Stud Dog and Brood Bitch Classes. Classes shall be judged separately by sex. These classes shall be judged on the quality of the progeny and not the individual stud dogs and brood bitches. Stud dogs and brood bitches must be permanently registered with UKC as of the day of the show to be eligible for this class. Progeny may compete if they are permanently registered with UKC, are out of UKC Registered litters, or have a valid Temporary Listing number on the day of the show. Spayed bitches and neutered dogs are eligible to compete in these classes but not as progeny. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in these classes. Only the exhibitors of the stud dogs and brood bitches are required to wear armbands in these classes. Stud Dog. Each entry in this class shall consist of a stud dog and at least two but not more than four dogs sired by that dog. The progeny must be at least three months of age and may include both sexes. At least two of the progeny must be entered in the licensed classes. Stud dogs entered in this class may not be counted as progeny for their sires in the same class. Entries shall be made in the name of the stud dog. Brood Bitch. Each entry in this class shall consist of a brood bitch and at least two but not more than four dogs produced by that bitch. The progeny must be at least three months of age and may include both sexes. At least two of the progeny must be entered in the licensed classes. Brood bitches entered in this class may not be counted as progeny for their dams in the same class. Entries shall be made in the name of the brood dog.

10 UKC MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES: Brace Class. Each entry in this class consists of two dogs of the same breed handled by a single handler. This class shall be judged on the basis of the overall quality of the entry and the similarity of the two dogs in type, size, and markings. The purpose of this class is to reward high quality within consistent type. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in this class. Dogs must be six months of age or older, intact and Permanently registered with UKC or have a valid Temporary Listing number on the day of the show in order to be eligible for this class. Veteran Class. This class consists of dogs seven years of age, or older and shall be divided by sex. The purpose of this class is to reward dogs that maintain good breed type and good condition as they age, and to give other breeders an opportunity to see the top dogs of the past. The Judge shall give up to four placements, where possible, in this class. The Best Veteran Male shall compete with the Best Veteran Female for Best Veteran of Breed. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC or have a valid Temporary Listing number on the day of the show in order to be eligible for this class. Spayed and neutered dogs are eligible for this class. AGREEMENT I/we agree that the club and the persons holding this event have the right to refuse this entry for any cause, which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to compete for prizes, ribbons or trophies, I/we agree to hold NWSWS, ISWS, UKC and LGRA, their respective members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents, event secretaries, and committee members, as well as the owner/lessee of the premises and any providers of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, including but not limited to judges, secretaries, and stewards, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I/we personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; I/we further agree to hold all the aforementioned parties in this agreement harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog; I/we hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend, and save all the aforementioned parties harmless from all loss and expense (including all legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death, at any times resulting there from, sustained by any person or persons, including myself/ourselves or on account of damage to property, arising out of, or as a consequence of, my/our participation in this event, however such injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not to the same parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. I/we agree that any cause of action, controversy, or claim arising out of or related to the entry, exhibition or attendance at the event between NWSWS, ISWS, UKC or LGRA or any committee member, volunteer, sponsor, etc., the owner of the event premises, and myself/ourselves or as to the construction, interpretation and effect of this agreement shall be governed by Oregon law. I/we also agree to be held responsible for any and all damage, caused by either myself/ourselves or the dogs in our care, whether owned or acting as agent, done to the property. Your signature on the Registration and/or Entry Forms, whether hand signed or by electronic signature, indicate your agreement to abide by all statements set forth on the Agreement and Notice to Exhibitors as set forth herein.
