3 Explosion in Cairo A bomb has exploded in Egypt's capital. The explosion happened at a busy cafe. A 17 year old French tourist died. Twenty one people were injured. Security officials have arrested three people. The cafe is in Khan el-khalili bazaar. The bazaar is very popular with tourists. There have been attacks at the bazaar before.

4 The Oscars This year was the 81st Oscars. The Oscars are the world's most important film awards. This year, British films won 8 awards. Slum Dog Milionaire won best film. Heath Ledger won best supporting actor. He played the Joker in The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger died a year ago. He is the second actor to win an oscar after death.

5 Sri Lankan Cricket Team Attacked The Sri Lankan cricket team has been attacked. The team was travelling to Lahore. Lahore is in Pakistan. Twelve gun men attacked their bus. Five players were injured. Five Pakistani policemen died. Other teams are worried about security in Pakistan. India and Australia have cancelled cricket tours in Pakistan.

6 Guinea Bissau President Dies The President of Guinea Bissau has been killed. People think rebel soldiers killed him. The President was killed at home. His house was destroyed. Seven days of national mourning has been announced. The cabinet has begun an investigation into his death. The speaker of Parliament is President for now. He should arrange elections soon.

7 Shooting in Northern Ireland A policeman has died in Northern Ireland. Someone shot the policeman near an estate in Craigavon. Mr Carroll had been a policeman 24 years. Mr Carroll was two years from retirement. Police have arrested two men. A terrorist group admitted responsibility. They want Northern Ireland joined with Southern Ireland. Recently, two soldiers died in Antrim.

8 Shooting in Germany A shooting has happened at a German school. Fifteen people died. A man shot several students and teachers. Some students were able to escape. The man was a former pupil. He was 17 years old. He died after the shooting. There was a special church ceremony in the town.

9 Police Rats Indian police have started using rats. Haryana police station has a mice problem. Mice have been destroying evidence and records. Police use the rats to scare the mice away. Rodents are a problem in India. They eat lots of grain and food. They also destroy police and court records. Using rats could solve this problem.

10 Tiny Dinosaur Found Archaeologists have found fossils of a tiny dinosaur. It was the same size as a chicken. It lived 75 million years ago. It was the smallest meat-eating dinosaur in North America. It ran on two legs. The fossils were found 25 years ago. But archaeologists mistook the dinosaur for a lizard. Archaeologists think these dinosaurs evolved to birds.
