4 Dog Gone Digital Christmas Photos another wonderful success! We raised money for our Gifts From the Heart program and Candice s photo was used in a Santa Cruz Sentinel article that included a description of both our fundraiser and our visit to Sunshine Villa. Remember to go to to purchase a Hi Res digital file that you can turn into your personal Christmas card for this holiday season. The Hi Res file will be ed to you. With this Hi Res file, you may take it to places like Costco or most drug stores that will create beautiful Christmas cards for you. Trent doesn t want you to be scared. But the guy behind him wants us to remind you to get your Obedience and Rally Workshop Registration form filled out. The early registration rates are valid to November 28th. 5 On A Loose Leash A note from the President Autumn my favorite time of year! October Catching up on our annual October jaunt to Sunshine Villa: As always the pups in their Halloween costumes were a super hit We are treated to prizes, refreshments and a lot of good conversation. Makes us feel good that we have great dogs to share with the residents! We had the most participation this year and by all counts all had a VERY good time. Sharing in the fun were the following members and trainees: Terri and Garth Gregson, Marion and Michael Bashista, Linda Lang, Michelle Pressel, Denise Panzich, Denise Weatherwax, Candice McLaren, Joyce Finch, Kami Mowbray, Cathryn Vanderbilt, Jan Regan, Donna Gorman, Bruce Kennedy and Stuart Gibson. And in October, knowing how to SIT PRETTY paid off handsomely for our member dogs and those of trainees, resulting in some super darling holiday photos being taken. Our annual photoshoot supporting Gifts from the Heart was generously supported financially. Candice took the lead and had the best set of volunteers: Edie, Marlene, Donna L, Imo, Luane, Irene, Cathy V. Linda Lang worked on breakdown and also picked up the photos later that week. BG volunteered her sleigh. November November 18 th Thanksgiving, Turkey & Pot Luck, Speaker. See Ruff Notes for details! Thanksgiving is at its best with the MBDTC cooks. All you and your family have to do is come up with a nice side dish (and your choice of beverage) and then let Marlene know the number in your party. MBDTC will need the count to set up an appropriate number of tables and set them with table service for all of us. (serving utensils for your dish is all that will be needed) December December is busy with lots to do and enjoy. Michael, Denice W, and Candice are spearheading all the December activities. A helping hand from you, would be a wonderful gift to offer. Save Tues Dec 5 and Tues Dec 7 to enjoy and work at the annual Winter Workshop. Sunday December 10 th is reserved for our anxiously awaited annual Awards Dinner. Your gifts for our silent auction are being gathered by DALE NOBLE in Watsonville, and SYLVIA HOLDERMAN in Capitola. Please share those no longer needed treasures!..but DON T OVER BOOK DECEMBER. Seems there is a new local workshop being offered on Sun the 10 th of December as well. Fliers have been passed out at our Tues Night Class. While it would be nice to support this new endeavor, we hope that you will save the day for your own MB club s affair. Reservations can be sent to Denise W as soon as you are ready.and don t forget to send in your pup s list of accomplishments for Awards. (See Ruff Notes for Details!) Indoors on 2 Tuesday Evenings December 5 & December 12, 2017 Pre-Entries (close Tues 11/28/17) Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds $15 per dog per class 2601 East Lake Ave (Hwy 152) Day of Match Entry Watsonville, CA $20 per dog per class Judging starts at 7:00 pm Registrations accepted up to 8:00 Sits and Downs free with any Paid Entry Limited to Space Available Dogs may be shown in any class regardless of titles. Mixed and rare breeds welcome! All sits and downs in a separate ring. Preentries judged in pre-entry order. Please be ready at ringside. Reasonable corrections allowed. No severe disciplining allowed in the ring or on the grounds. Exercises may be repeated at judge s discretion. Reasonable training aids allowed at judge s discretion. This is a workshop only, no awards. Treats are allowed in the ring on your person or on your personal go out pole, but no food on the floor or on baby gates. Please avoid leaving residual odors for other dogs to scent. Directions: From the Bay Area Take Hwy 17 to Hwy 1 south at Santa Cruz. Follow Hwy 1 south to Watsonville and take the AIRPORT BLVD exit. Turn left onto AIRPORT BLVD and follow approx. 2 miles where it becomes HOLOHAN RD. Follow HOLOHAN RD approx 1.5 miles to E LAKE AVE/CA 152. Turn left onto E LAKE AVE and follow approx 1 mile to the FAIRGROUNDS. From Monterey/Salinas Take Hwy 1 north to Watsonville and exit at RIVERSIDE DR toward CA-152/WATSONVILLE.
