1 Huron River Labrador Retriever Club August 2005 Newsletter Page 1 of 6 Hello club members, HRLRC PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Specialty time is once again drawing near. I hope everyone will support our club in one way or another whether it be as a participant in conformation or obedience (we have a sub-novice class this year for dogs and/or handlers just starting out), as a trophy sponsor, or a volunteer. To all those that have helped out thus far thank you! Everyone s dedication and hard work pays off when we have the opportunity to see many wonderful examples of our beloved breed in one place and see fellow exhibitors that we may not get to visit with as often as we would like. After all, our involvement with Labradors is not just about the dogs, but their people as well. Speaking of Labradors and their owners, I urge each and every one of you to think back and revisit why you initially acquired a Labrador as well as why you made the decision to become involved in the breed. I m willing to bet the primary reason was NOT based on a desire to beat someone else s dogs in the show ring nor was it about personal vendettas. I imagine most, if not all of us, got involved because we enjoy Labrador personalities and antics. If only we could live our lives half as carefree as they seem to... From time to time, I believe it is helpful for each of us to assess where we were, we are, and where we are heading in our Lab journey. Let s be sure to keep it in perspective, keep it fun, and enjoy the experiences. REMEMBER OUR NEW LOCATION FOR NEXT MONTH!! Until next time, Jeanine HRLRC CALENDAR NOTE NEW MEETING LOCATION: Meetings are the 1st Friday of every month unless otherwise noted.
