I just do not seem to be able to keep up. The pace of life gets faster and faster and we seem to have more and more to do but yet we need to STOP and ask ourselves...did we greet our favourite friend this morning as he/she greeted us so lovingly with adorable Boxer expression as if to say are you running off at lightning speed again? It gives new meaning to the expression stop and smell the roses...stop for a minute, take that deep breath and give a special Boxer an extra hug. I know some of you are saying the Secretary is going soft but I have been without Boxers on the property for a number of years now and recently had the privilege of a very special boy, spending the night at our home and it made me remember how special it is to be greeted in the morning in your bedroom by such a sweet, enthusiastic breed. Perhaps I am fooling myself and he was actually just after the cats!!

2 Winner of Winners 21 March 2015 I have to wonder how many of us have been guilty of this in the last while. Do we do our Boxers a disservice when we show them during the year full of enthusiasm when they gain Championship points and then become Champions or if even they have the honour of standing first in the line up but when it comes to the very big event of the year, the Winner of Winners...your Boxer is not there to be able to compete because you the owner found an excuse. Winner of Winners has been an annual event for many years and what started out as a formal, evening dress; sit down supper event has been changed over the years to suit changing times. However this does not make the planning and work load involved any different. I stand to be corrected but I believe I have attended every WOW, with or without a Boxer in tow. If I was there to show my Boxer or just to cheer the winners on I was there. This year was a fantastic event, though the number of people who attended was I feel very disappointing considering the number of Winning Boxers that were invited and the enormous efforts put in by the WOW Committee, particularly Monica Roos our PRO, who always does an amazing job...now there is a real Winner of Winners. The event theme this year was Carnival and we really had some fabulous outfits and much laughter. Congrats to all the Boxers who attended with their owners as you were all winners. The results are as follows: Best Female Puppy: Roni s Echo, owned and bred by Ms A Erasmus Best Male Puppy: Tambay s Yuma of Nimrod, bred by Mr & Mrs F Füglister, owned by Mr J Greeff Jnr. Best Adult Male: Emanie s D Trompie, bred by Mr JH Cornelissen, owned by Mr JVE Pretorius Best Adult Female: Charma s Alexi, bred by Mr & Mrs CA van der Merwe, owned by Mrs A Cowley. Congratulations to all Boxers, breeders and owners. The Winner of Winners went to: Emanie s D Trompie The annual awards and certificates were also handed out for the 2014 Top Dogs. It was once again a successful meeting and while listening to all the reports be it Financial, Panel or Chairman it makes you realize just how much work the Executive people put into the FBCSA Organization and the Breed. Remember all this is done on a voluntary basis, in between our work and our lives. Once again I can assure you that you have wonderful Enthusiastic, hard working and dedicated people on the Executive Committee. A decision was carried out at the AGM in March to REDUCE the number of shows held in a year. A few factors for this decision came into play: Smaller entries into shows Fewer shows give more time for other activities The cost of fuel, toll gates and so forth However, this does mean that if you want to make up a Champion dog you will need to enter every possible show in the year. It has been traditional to hold 12 Championship shows in a year. In 2015 these have been reduced to just 8 Club shows (of which two have already been held) and the Interclub show. In 2016 these will be reduced to just 6 Club shows and the Interclub. Not all shows will be Double Bill so you will need to take care when reading the show schedules. Please take note of the remaining show dates, Trials and Socials for 2015: 18 April 2015 EBC, Double Bill. Entries closed 27 June 2015 NBC, Double Bill. The Act further stipulates that there can only be one Breeders Society of a particular breed and registration of these animals may only be done through a registered Registering Authority, such as SA Stud Book. The Boxer has been declared by the Registrar as a Breed and was accordingly announced as such in the Government Gazette. The Federation of Boxer Clubs of SA is therefore the only legal Breeders Society for Boxers in South Africa and therefore only breeders who are members of the Federation can legally claim to be breeding Boxers
