1. Roll Call Members in Attendance (13) Beth Bishop, Lindsay Davis, Bonnie Guzman,, Virginia Rogers, Tammy Marshall Weldon, Meryl Winnie, Jim Toman, Monica Anthony, David Stroff, Carol Kearns, MaKayla King, Roberta Brown Absent: Julie Stade, Alissa Weaver 2. Report of Officers and Committees A. Report of the President - Welcome Officers and Regional Directors to this first meeting of the New Board. This will be a learning curve for many of us, myself included. The United Doberman Club has just celebrated it's 25th Anniversary. It is our duty and obligation to keep this a meaningful and viable club for our members for the next 25 years. We need to do our best to engage our members and have Committee Members and Regional Directors that are "worker bees" who are willing and able to make contributions to our club. We cannot expect just a small core group to get it all done. I expect all the Members of this Board to be engaged in the discussions around the agenda items listed for this meeting. We come to the Board with different experiences and viewpoints - we will not agree on all subject matter, but it is important that each and everyone of us gets the opportunity to express their viewpoint on the subject matter and that we respect those viewpoints and treat fellow BOD members with the courtesy and respect they deserve. Our meeting lasts an entire week, in most circumstances this give BOD members ample opportunity to log in and express their viewpoints and I expect them to do so. You have been appointed to this BOD to serve the United Doberman Club Membership and are expected to do so. At the beginning of my term, I asked fellow BOD members to give me their top three priorities. Here is the summary of what your fellow BOD members replied: BETH BISHOP Top three initiatives: 1. Website improvement. I already talked to you about this a bit. I would like to get more people involved so it isn t such a huge job. I think we need more content. I would like to enlist people to write content for the website. For example, content about various activities that Dobes can participate in. 2. Member involvement. Somehow facilitate/enable those members who would like to do something for UDC to do so. I think there are people out there, but unfortunately it takes someone in the know to be able to say what is needed, find and train those people. Maybe we need a volunteer coordinator. 3. Regular membership surveys. I was thrilled with the response we got several years ago to the membership survey. I think we should do more of these, maybe one every couple of years. They are easy and cheap to do (only cost the UDC a couple of months of survey monkey subscriptions. We should identify issues we need feedback on and include them in the next survey. BONNIE GUZMAN 1. Consider reassigning or realigning RD positions; downsizing the number. 2. A careful review of the DOJ position; whether it is necessary or not. 3. Expand the role of social media, if at all possible. 4. Attempt to find additional and reliable help with the web site. Frank has been fabulous. Beth is doing a great job. Thanks for your replies. My mini project will be to get more members engaged. I will compose a communication listing mini projects and asking members to volunteer. 1 P a g e

B. Reports of Secretaries B1. Recording Secretary Meeting minutes from the AGM and last BOD meeting will be posted in the next meeting. Monica Anthony UDC Recording Secretary B2. Corresponding Secretary Alissa Weaver submitted her resignation as UDC Corresponding Secretary. UDC President Linda Lidic did not accept Alissa s resignation. After the conclusion of the BOD, Alissa withdrew her resignation and has resumed her role as UDC Corresponding Secretary. B3. Membership Secretary Membership renewals for the year have started. You will be receiving reminders, as time goes by, to finish your renewals. After you have renewed, do not be alarmed that you continue to receive renewal notices as it is an automated system. Please contact me directly with any questions you may have about renewals. bonefinder51@gmail.com Our renewal rate has gradually creeped up a bit each year. I am to have it even a bit higher this year. Bonnie Guzman UDC Membership Secretary B4. Member Club Secretary Mid-Central Working Doberman Club has an approved event for June 13-14, They will be having TT, conformation show, UDC Breed Survey and an IPO trial. Please check the calendar of events on the UDC website for additional information and/or contact information for MCWDC. All Member Clubs have been notified that we are currently asking for bids for the 2016 UDC National. Thank you, Lindsay Davis Member Club Secretary C. Report of the Treasurer Hi I have attached the April 2015 Statement. Thank you Meryl Attached as addendum #1. D. Reports of Committees D1. AWDF Report from Wendy Schmitt: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The AWDF meeting trip was a success and I am happy to report. The meeting started with the elections and Ann Camper- AWMA was voted in as the Vice President, Amanda Hoskins -DVG was voted in as Director at Large. Both positions add diversity to the board and will balance a very tilted USCA heavy AWDF board. The secretary position was up however the current Secretary Karen ran unopposed. The budget was on the agenda- the AWDF is currently in a deficit with 2 yrs of low entries for the championship and the restructuring of dues. 2 P a g e

One of the items that was short was funds for the FCI uniforms. I brought up trying to raise money for the Team through fundraising on FB. The treasurer and a few others felt this would not work. I made a motion to do a FB fundraiser for our FCI uniforms and asked Angie (Cane Corso Club) if she would help as she showed support during the discussion. The good news is as I was making may way home from the meeting Angie set up the go fund account and the IPO community has now raised over the $1800 needed for the uniforms!!!!! We are still short $2000 in total budget and Dan Williams brought up Calendars as a way to bring in money and I seconded. I believe this is a great way to bring in extra money for the AWDF. Each month will have a few photos of different breeds competing in the many working sport clubs of the AWDF. If each club can buy at least $ calendars the AWDF will be with in budget. I believe this is an excellent idea and we can all put in photos. This will be discussed at the next meeting This wrapped up our meeting, very short but successful. I believe in showing that the AWDF is an all breed organization and we will will not be managed by 1 club and although things are tougher financially we will do what is necessary. I am putting in for the event committee as the last 2 yrs there was no committee and the events have been run by the exec board. If anyone on the UDC board has any questions please feel free to ask me directly, Wendy Schmitt D2. Member Communications Committee Reports a. icontact We are now using icontact as our primary channel for "direct to members" communications rather than Zooza. Our current contact list is as of February, Bonnie - You will need to come up with a schedule whereby you send an updated file to be upload. Maybe within a couple days of new member approvals? Whatever you think will work best. Also, I need someone to replace me as the editor on icontact. Let me know if anyone on the BOD will take on this function before I go outside. There is also a Social Media function on icontact whereby your messages can be automatically posted to Facebook. This would be an advantage for some messages. I was not able to get it to work - maybe because I am not authorized on Facebook? Don't know. My guess would be there are likely to be 4 to 6 messages a month. Bonnie Guzman responded that sending a spreadsheet monthly should not be a problem but I may need an occasional reminder and Virginia Rogers requested the spreadsheer be provided to the Administrator of Records. b. Facebook The United Doberman Club Facebook page has currently 1,852 "likes". This is a substantial increase of 25% from the UDC Facebook page's 1,479 "likes" in August During the 2015 UDC Nationals, the UDC Facebook page received a record weekly page reach of 9,392 and 1,794 people engaged. Generally the weekly page reach is between 200-1,500 and people engaged. The UDC Facebook page continues to highlight UDC programs (UDC focus, Breeder's Directory, VC and VCX program, etc.), UDC events and UDC Member accomplishments. 3 P a g e

Thank you, Monica Anthony Lindsay thanked Monica for the Facebook updates during UDC Nationals and also thanked Frank DeLaglio for all of his work on the UDC National 2015 webpage. Bonnie added her thanks to Monica and Frank for their work. Monica noted that Brandi Williams is the UDC Facebook Lead and thanked Frank for his help on the UDC website. Linda mentioned that social media is a VERY powerful tool for small clubs like UDC. c. UDC FOCUS I was extremely pleased with our new editor Jane Swanson. I love that she has incorporated photos of member dogs throughout the issue. I am also pleased with our "print-on-demand" option. It meets the needs of members who want that printed issue and there is no cost to the club. At last view we had 17 members purchase printed issues. I hope that that number will increase as more members become aware of the service. Our Summer issue with feature our "Working Dogs" - similar to the "Senior Dog" issue we did last year. Jane's invoice for the Spring Issue was $ Bonnie, Lindsay, Jim and Monica agreed that Jane has done a good job as the new UDC Focus editor. D3. UDC Nationals Committee - Report on 2015 Nationals 2015 UDC National The 25th Anniversary 2015 UDC National was held in Winchester, KY, April 14-18, All events except the IPO Championship were held at the Clark County Fairgrounds and the IPO Championship was held at Dragonsmeade Morgan Horse Farm. The weather was a little challenging during the week but we were able to move conformation show 1 inside. Fortunately, we did have covered areas available on the grounds for the TT s and Obedience trials. We had a great entry for all venues and hope that we will see such wonderful participation at future nationals. Once again, thank you to everyone that worked long, tiresome hours to make this event one to remember. Thank you, Lindsay Davis National Co-Chair Virginia asked if the profit/loss sheet was ready and Lindsay advised it is not ready at this time. Monica thanked Lindsay and the volunteers for their hard work putting on the UDC Nationals Virginia asked the profit/loss statement will be ready and for a marked catalogue. 4 P a g e

D4. Update and Next Steps from Rule Change Committee No work has been done on updating the manuals for several months due to preparations for the National. So there are no updates for this meeting. Work will resume as soon as possible. Beth Bishop UDC Vice President In order to get this into the meeting minutes I am posting this on the FORUM. Effective immediately I am resigning as Vice President and Obedience Chair of the United Doberman Club. This decision was made necessary due to personal issues. Respectfully, Beth Bishop I withdraw my resignation. Thanks to those who helped me figure out how to solve the personal issue that triggered this action. Beth Bishop UDC Vice President D5. IPO Fall Classic Status Report on IPO Fall Classic Contacted Karen McIntyre to judge event. - She acknowledged my request and I am awaiting a reply. Filled position of Trial Chair. - Lyn Kargaard agreed to serve as Trial Chair Contacted Pat Cornelius to serve as Trial Secretary - Awaiting reply. Fall Classic Ad. - Designed Ad for Fall IPO Classic - once I have confirmed who will be the judge, it will need to replace the UDC National info on the web. It will also need to be promoted on Facebook. Working with Victoria Hall, Lyn, and Ray Carlisle on other aspects such as helpers, equipment, tracking, etc. Here is my most recent update: The GOOD NEWS is that we are still invited to their party! Despite the negative posts regarding the "change" to the AKC Standard. The DPCA still wants us to showcase our Dobermans at their National and will cover any losses we incur to do this. This is a wonderful opportunity to "show off" our working Dobermans and their remarkable abilities. I know when I saw my first IPO event, I thought OMG this is like the Dog Olympics! The BAD NEWS is that the deadline for the Premium List is May 18th and I still do not have a Trial Secretary. Meryl has graciously consented to consider it - but since she will be there at the beginning of the week and have to travel back at the end of the week, that is a lot to ask of her. So...I am asking if any member of the BoD would like to volunteer to be Trial Secretary or recommend someone you know, I would need hear from you ASAP. Just a small clarification here in regards to the financial aspects of the Fall Classic. The DPCA is not covering "any losses incurred" nor are they "subsidizing" the Fall Classic as stated on various DPCA lists. 5 P a g e

II. United Doberman Club It is that they will reimburse the UDC up to $1,000 of losses. Lindsay Lindsay is correct. If our total expenses are $ and our income i.e. entry fees and trophy donations total $300.00, DPCA will make up the $ difference. If our total expenses are $1,500. and our total income is $300. then DPCA will give us $1, and we would end up absorbing the $ difference. New Business A. Review DOJ Position and initiate project to recruit apprentices to serve as Temperament Test and Breed Survey Judges. I make a motion to Review DOJ Position and initiate project to recruit apprentices to serve as Temperament Test and Breed Survey Judges. This may necessitate naming a new DOJ which may be appointed by the President and then approved by the Board of Directors. DOJ Position as copied from page 26 of the Administration Manual: The Director of Judges has two areas of responsibility. 1) The DOJ serves as Chairperson of the Judges Committee, which consists of the program chairpersons for each of the programs. Along with each of the program chairs, the Director of Judges is responsible for nurturing new apprentice judges and insuring competent, consistent judges for the program. 2) Compile all rule changes that have been approved during the year and update/revise the Rules & Regulation Books. The Director of Judges is assisted by the Judges committee and the Vice President in this endeavor. This will still require a second in order for the BOD to vote on it. Monica Anthony Lindsay seconded the motion. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. B. Issue AWDF Record Book for Non Doberman for UDC Member Request from UDC Member Staci Gunderson to issue a AWDF Record Book for her Boston Terrier. AWDF Regulations allow us to issue a AWDF Record book. It was mentioned that she should go to UScA for a Record book however they do require her to become a Member of the UScA. I received a request from one of our UDC Members to issue an AWDF Record Book for her non- Doberman. Doing research in regard to this request, I found out that indeed the AWDF allows member clubs to issue AWDF Record Books to their members for other Breeds the Member may own. Here is what I copied from the AWDF web page. 6 P a g e

"Effective immediately, AWDF member clubs can issue scorebooks to any breed of dog owned by their members and list the dogs breed on the scorebook provided that proof of FCI recognized registration accompanies the application." The dog does have an FCI recognized registration. Although the AWDF does allow us to issue a Record Book, it does not say we must issue a Record Book. Some BOD Members feel that since we enter Dobermans into our registry program in order to issue a Record Book, our Registry is for pure bred Dobermans and therefore we cannot issue a Record Book. I view that the AWDF Record Book and entering a dog in our Registry and issuing a AWDF Record Book different functions and not dependent upon each other. Background information: Not that it should make a difference, but this is for a good UDC member who has entered in our National and supported the FOCUS with advertisements. She lost both her Dobermans within a year and now wants to do a BH with her Boston Terrier. I am requesting that fellow BOD members consider this request. I do feel for Ms. Gunderson's tragic losses this past year. However, issuing a record book for a Boston Terrior would be in violation of our Constitution and Bylaws given that our issuing of record books is part of our registry process: (4) To maintain a supplemental registry for Doberman Pinschers, recording all earned degrees and titles from recognized and accepted organizations Thank you, Lindsay As the Administrator of Records, I will go on record to state: The UDC is a breed specific organization. Issuing a record book is part of the registration process. The registry generates a UDC number which is included in the record book. This is a 2-part process, registration and record book go hand-in-hand. We dealt with similar problem several years ago, when a member in good standing only wanted a record book (although she was wanting it for a doberman). Please review that information. I personally have helped Stacia receive record books for both dogs that she lost in order for her to trial them. My heart is with her in the loss. However, I will NOT support issuing record books for Non-Dobermans. Virginia Rogers Lindsay made a motion that the request of issuing a record book for a Boston Terrier be denied. Jim seconded the motion. Monica voted yes to support the motion to deny the scorebook for a Boston Terrier. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. C. Regional Director Positions. Create Director At Large Positions 7 P a g e

Create Director At Large Positions - We are experiencing difficulty in recruiting and maintaining Regional Directors who are will to take an active roll and make a viable contribution to our Club. We cannot expect our small core of Officers that have ongoing responsibilities to take on more than they already have on their plates. We should have Regional Directors that are willing to serve and contribute to the club. The duties of the Regional Directors as outlined in Chapter 3 of the Administration Manual are to support major projects as selected by the Board. Each Regional Director is expected to select a project. If two consecutive Board meetings are missed a Regional Director may be replaced. We need active and committed Regional Directors. It is from this group of individuals that the next group of officers will come from. Consider the creation of a Director at Large position. This position could have the following responsibilities: 1) Act as a Mentor to new Regional Directors who do not have prior BOD experience. 2) Automatically fill in any RD vacancy until a new RD is appointed. 3) Serve as advisor on all projects adopted by the area Regional Directors. ~~~~~~ I would strongly encourage the board to take a step back and look at the overall picture before adding another board position. The UDC Board, as stated in the Constitution and Bylaws, consists of 16 of which 9 are Regional Directors. This is a high number of Regional Director positions for a club whose membership numbers have averaged between for the past number of years. I do not believe that in 25 years our membership has ever exceeded 500 members. If you will take the time to look at other clubs the size of UDC you will see that our number of Regional Directors is larger than any of the clubs that are comparable in size. I am well aware that when this was decided upon 25 years ago, it was the hopes and dreams that UDC would have a membership with numbers comparable to DPCA. It is time to reevaluate this. If you look at the distribution of members in each current region you will see that there is a big difference in member numbers in a number of regions. This has been consistent for many years. I believe that it is time to realign our regions so that the member numbers of each region is more evenly distributed. This also creates a larger pool of members per region for potential Regional Directors that, hopefully, will participate and be active board members. The UDC does not need to have 9 Regions. When you evaluate the membership numbers, there should only be 4 to 5 regions for a club of this size. Yes, this is my opinion but is based on several years of research. Thank you, Lindsay Lindsay has always reiterated what I planned on commenting so there is not a lot to add. This is a relatively small club and will likely always be as there is only a finite number of working Dobermans in the world. Consolidating RD positions should be strongly considered and, if that is accomplished, the concept of a lead RD ( sorry don't remember the exact term suggested) could be considered. Nominating committees have a very difficult time finding interested candidates to fill any positions on the board. If you look at the number of UDC members who are board members, compare that to other dog clubs ( yes, you can look at DPCA) we are very top heavy on board positions. There's a message in that. Bonnie Monica supported Lindsay and Bonnie's position. We will need to put this on the back burner a bit. The creation of a Director at large position and the reduction of RDs would be a change to the C&B. See Article III. Director & Officers. What we need to do first is to add this topic to a Member Survey to get member feedback to determine if there is 8 P a g e

sufficient support before we put it to a member vote. Sending ballots is an expensive and time consuming proposition. We need a 2/3 majority of ballots returned. Also I don't know that going from 9 RDs to 4 RDs is the way to go. What happens when we have 4 RDs and only 2 participate in the meeting process. We have too few folks doing the lion-share of the work today. I think a better way to go is to re-align the RD positions based on UDC Member population. We 79 UDC Members in the Northeast Region. Many of whom would make a good RD (but not as good as you Jim!) There are 27 UDC Members in Mid-Central Region. Mid-Central could be combined into another Region. Northeast probably needs to be split into 2 regions. If we have 300 members and you try to have approximately 45 to 50 members per region, that gives you 6 to 7 Regions. This pretty much supports what Lindsay has said. I would like to see BoD member to come up with a a proposal we can add to the survey. Food for thought! Our existing Constitution and By-Laws needs revisions to bring it into the 21st century. Outside of a couple of revisions over the years we are still functioning with a C & B that was written 25 years ago. Changes to the Constitution and By-Laws are to be voted on by the UDC Board of Directors first (if changes are being suggested by the Board), then notification by mail to the membership before actual changes are official regarding the Constitution and By-Laws. The most efficient and cost effective process would be to update the C & B, then all updates could be included in one mailing to the membership. Please see below the correct execution of changes/updates to the C & B. ARTICLE VII AMENDMENTS SECTION 1. Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws. Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws of the United Doberman Club may be proposed by the Board of Directors or by written petition addressed to the Recording Secretary, signed by twenty percent (20%) of the membership in good standing. Amendments proposed by such petition shall be promptly considered by the Board of Directors and must be submitted to the members with recommendations of the Board by the Recording Secretary for a vote within three (3) months of the date when the petition was received by the Recording Secretary. SECTION 2. Amendment by Members. The Constitution and By-Laws may be amended at any time provided a copy of the proposed amendment has been mailed by the Recording Secretary to each member accompanied by a ballot on which he may indicate his/her choice for or against the action to be taken. The notice shall specify a date not less than thirty (30) days after the date of mailing by which date the ballots must be returned to the Recording Secretary to be counted. The favorable vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the members in good standing whose ballots are returned within the time limit shall be required to effect any such amendment. Thank you, Lindsay I suggest that this be added to the survey questions. Our membership need to be informed and have an input. As South Regional Director, I get a lot of calls and s...can that be a combination of Administrator of Record calls...yes, but I still receive many calls from my area. 9 P a g e

Virginia I don't read that any revision to the C&B needs to be voted on by the Board of Directors first only proposed by the BOD. ANY change made to the Constitution and Bylaws needs to have support from 2/3 of our Membership. I am not opposed to changes to the C&B. But from the perspective of making sure we act in a financially responsible manner. I want Member feedback via a survey to make sure we are not wasting our money on a proposal that no one wants and won't have support of the membership. When we do submit a ballot to our membership to change the C&B, we need to do it with one ballot (if feasible). We need to be financially responsible - especially since a new registry program will like deplete 30%-50% or our Treasury. We likely need a committee to review the C&B and come up list a list of those items we feel need revision. We also need to finish up, proof, and verify previous revisions to our manuals. I am not so sure reducing the number or workers is the answer. Regardless of how many Regional Directors there are, there should still be the same amount of work. Covering a larger area will not only increase the work load, but, make it more difficult for them to cover their assigned area. There really are never too many Indians so to say. I see the problem more in the direction of a 'lack of participation'. We have been training at West Coast K-9 with Ted. There are at least 10 Doberman owners who are members of his club and I know there are other clubs and etc in the San Diego area and in the LA area, near by. I would be asking 'WHY IS THE MEMBERSHIP SO LOW AFTER 25 YEARS?' and 'What can UDC do to attract more of the Working Doberman Owners?' Roberta D. Disposition of UDC owner IPO Equipment Jim made a motion that we send member clubs a list of available equipment and let them bid on it. If it is still available we then open The bidding by our membership. Lindsay seconded the motion. The list of equipment is attached as an appendix. Attached as Addendum #2. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. E. Solicit Member Clubs to make bid to host 2016 UDC Nationals All UDC Member Clubs have been notified in regards to submitting bids for hosting the 2016 UDC National. They were given a deadline date for bids of June 15 but if they were considering submitting a bid and having difficulty meeting that date to please contact me. Several clubs have responded in that they are not interested in hosting the 2016 National. Thank you, 10 P a g e

Lindsay Davis Member Club Secretary United Doberman Club F. Approve Expenditure for External Hard Drive for Webmaster We need to approve expenditure for portable hard drive for storing backups of the UDC Website. Explanation is: Robin Nutall has recommended that we back up the content on the UDC Website to avoid losing it. Our Webmaster, Frank DeLaglio, has backed up the UDC Web contact on his hard drive. While it is not a large amount of data, UDC should purchase a portable hard drive to store web content. Depending on the size of the hard drive, costs range between $59.00 to $ Lindsay made a motion to approve the purchase (not to exceed $100) of an external hard drive to be used for backing up data on the UDC Website. Bonnie seconded the motion. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. G. Develop Survey to solicit Membership feedback on various projects under consideration by the BOD The BOD should submit close ended questions i.e. questions which have definitive answers for survey. For example, since the Registry is high priority and will be an expensive project, we should ask questions such as: How important is the UDC Registry program to you? 1. Extremely important. 2. Somewhat important. 3. Not important at all. Have you ever contacted the UDC Registry to obtain information on a potential breeding partner for your Doberman? 1. Yes 2. No. Have you ever registered a litter that you have bred? 1. Yes 2. No. Monica made a motion to develop a survey to solicit Membership feedback on various projects under consideration by the BOD. Tammy seconded the motion. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. H. Review our policy of issuing Scorebooks and allowing non-members to have access to information on the dogs in our Registry. Our original language on page 3 of 11 in Chapter 6 Registration says Any person in good standing with the United Doberman Club may apply for registration of any pure bred Doberman with supplying the UDC with such. It was revised in October, 2014 to read Any person owning a purebred Doberman may apply for registration of any purebred Doberman with the United Doberman Club Registry by supply the UDC with such.. The revision removed the words in good standing. This has opened the door for puppy mills,euro- 11 P a g e

greeders, and others who we would deny membership to for whatever reason(s) to register their dog(s) with the UDC and receive an AWDF Record Book, UDC Pedigree, Annual Dog Report, and access to information on other Dogs in our Registry without going through the vetting process of becoming a UDC member. It is clear that our founders did not intend to us have an open door policy. I have made posts to the board and in conversation to our membership (past presidents), that allowing non-members to receive UDC record books, pedigree, registration that we the UDC would be validating people with questionable breeding/training/etc practices. The vetting process of membership would assist in helping the Administrator of Records. However, I feel that this issue needs to go the general membership for vote as many (that I have spoken) with indicate that by issuing a record book we (the UDC) would encourage membership. Regards, Virginia I agree Virginia. This subject would make an excellent question for our next UDC Membership survey. Let's ask our members if they think we should issue am AWDF Record Book to non-members. I did research the AWDF website and with only one exception, they require the individual applying for the AWDF Record Book to be a member. I. Replace the UDC Registry Program which is a database program The current Registry Program runs on Windows XP and can no longer be supported and therefore needs to be replaced. This Board needs to make a decision to approve expenditure for a replacement system in excess of $5, With such a potentially large expenditure we need to make the best possible decision. Linda mentioned the urgency to update the system. Virginia made the following update: The UDC registry was running on Windows XP and MS Office Professional Neither are supported by MS. After returning home from the Nationals, the laptop gave me the dreaded blue screen. I attempted to patch the problem by re-installing XP and MS Office. Unfortunately, Access required some "hot fixes" and Access Library that are NO longer available via MS. So, I am attempting to modify the the OS and MS Access at this time...time consuming...udc record books coming and the National paperwork sitting on the desk. UDC BoD and many members have known of this critical need of updating the registry for quite a while...many years in fact. I am imploring our BoD and Membership to please take action. I have spoken with Charles Brengel and he has indicated that he would still be willing to work on this project. I would expect that he would have close communication with Frank and also the BoD. Charles is familiar with the registry and has an extensive background of web programming. Here is some info I've put together: I. Migrating to an updated Access/OS a. New software expense b. Will it migrate c. Required processor 1 Ghz d. Windows 8.1, 8, 7 (Windows 7 was originally installed on system) 12 P a g e

e. Display DirectX10 graphics f..net version 3.5, 4.0 II. The UDC Registry should be available for all members to view on the UDC website. III. Attached are some benefits of having the registry "on-line". Benefits of Having the UDC Registry Software on the Web. 1. Technology independence. Meaning that the software is not contingent upon the software on the individuals PC, Operating System or Applications other than the Web Browser, which by definition must follow industry standards. 2. The registry software can be administered from anywhere there is an Internet connection. 3. When the person filling the Administrator position changes there is no problem with a transfer of duties. 4. Given that the Security Module is implemented, the Registration Process can be made easier on the Administrator, by allowing the Owner or Breeder to input the registration information. Then submitting that initial information to the system. No Pedigree or Registration Certificate or reports would be available until the appropriate documentation is physically received by the administrator and the Administrator Accepts the registration. 5. Show results could be entered by Trial Secretaries. 6. Show results reports could be made easily available on line on the UDC Web Site. 7. Pedigree research data could be made available on-line to members. 8. Health data could be made available on line to dog owners for only their dogs. 9. As a follow on improvement, registration fees could be paid via PayPal at the time of registration. 10. Show entries could be done via the software, thus eliminating the need for external processing as a follow on improvement and keeping costs down for UDC. 11. Additional Services can be added in the future which would benefit UDC Members. IV. Website server could (and should) also support the Registry information which would be an additional cost saving for UDC Next steps were discussed for proceeding. Jim made a motion that we look into upgrading our registry. This would include getting quotes from members and non members with a computer background. Monica seconded the motion. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. J. The renewal date for our memberships and breeder's directory need to be different months. Our old paper based system allowed UDC Members to renewal their Membership and at the same time renew their listing for the Breeder's Directory. However, with using Zooza as our electronic membership renewal program, we can no longer have renewals for both programs in he same month. Zooza can only accommodate Membership Renewals. It cannot accommodate fee renewals for various programs. In order for UDC Members to participate in the Breeder's Directory they must be members. We do not know if they are members until the end of the Membership Renewal period at which time we will have a current membership roster. Therefore, we need to schedule the renewal of the Breeders Directory listing at such time that we are certain those wanting to renew or newly participate are paid members. Therefore we need to determine a new date for collecting the fee for the Breeder's Directory listing. 13 P a g e

Note: I posted this because Monica and Beth are out of town and was requested to do so. Virginia asked about requirements to be listed and Lindsay confirmed an individual needs to be a current UDC member and a member for 5 years to be listed in the Breeder s Directory. Lindsay made a motion to have the renewal date moved to September and Monica seconded the motion. Yes: (10) Beth Bishop, Bonnie Guzman, Lindsay Davis, Meryl Winnie, Tammy Marshall-Weldon, Jim Toman, Carol Kearns, Monica Anthony, Virginia Rogers, Roberta Brown Motion passed. K. 21 UDC IPO and Breed Survey equipment Stored by Linda Kurz With a few exceptions, most of these items are too heavy for me to move much less ship to a new location. If UDC wants them moved, arrangements would have to be made for some kind of pick-up at my house. Each item would need to be assembled to check that all tie-down stakes are there. After the show, the IPO chair and others loaded them into my car and also in that of another UDC member who took them to my house and unloaded them into various locations for storage. Portable A-frame ITEM CONDITION COMMENT Gently used too heavy for me to inspect. Disassembled after show and stored in my basement would need to locate tiedown stakes Portable Jump Like new I put this together to see if I could use it for practice. It turned out to be too heavy for me to transport to other locations so it is in my RV garage Portable blinds (7) Gently used I put six of these together to use. Some tie-down stakes seem to be missing but they were put into various pockets so they might be locatable. Dumbbell set (IPO1,2,3) Gently used Used only once at the show but these are the old style and may not meet current FCI specifications for distance of bar from ground, etc. Metal Dumbbell stand, Gently used Used only once at the show folding UDC welcome banner Good, but minor damage This has Pepsi on one side and one of the letters has scrapes. could easily be repaired. UDC message board (small) Poor is missing most letters to put message on board. Signs (IPO competitors only) Good but some stakes are bent could be straigtened They have wires on either side of sign to make it easty to stick them in the ground. This dates back to a national in Colorado (2000?) and has been handed down These were posted on one side of the field that was not fenced to keep audience off the field Linda Kye made these, Breed survey tie out Good excellent? Was used at a few nationals has bungee cord, etc. as specified in our rules. Heavy Chain pretty long Like new Not sure what this was used for Height measuring stick Gently used Seems to have English only think was purchased at Home Depot for a national breed survey HOT trophy donated by Gail Dodd ok I rescued this from Purina as the winner did not want it should be shipped back to Gail Dodd as it has not been kept up to date.
