About Jo Cox About Tom Cox Jo Cox has been having fun making things for as long as she can remember. After an enthusiastically creative teaching career she now works as an artist at her home studio in the Nottinghamshire countryside, where she uses a variety of techniques, including printmaking, paint, stitching and collage. Jo particularly loves the art of the mid-20th century: painting, print, illustration and textiles. She enjoys finding vintage treasures to recycle and is a passionate gardener. Her prints feature many of the things she loves not least, cats. Jo shares her house with her children s author husband, Michael, and her dopey, formerly stray hippie cat George an arrival via their son, Tom Cox, creator of @MySadCat and @MySmugCat. Tom Cox was born in Nottinghamshire in 1975. Since quitting his job as rock critic for The Guardian in 2000, he has written eight books, including three about his cats Under The Paw, Talk To The Tail, the top ten Sunday Times bestseller The Good, The Bad And The Furry, and Close Encounters Of The Furred Kind and two about his adventures as Britain s most inept golf professional. Tom writes about folklore, animals, his family and life in the Devon countryside for his website, www.tom-cox.com, a column about his cats for Your Cat magazine, a diary for Devon Life magazine and many book reviews and pieces for various other newspapers. His hobbies include walking, reading and listening to old folk songs about witches. With almost 300,000 Twitter followers, Tom s page @MySadCat was a Twitter phenomenon. The star of the page, The Bear (1995-2016) was a melancholy poet, philosopher and musician trapped in a feline body. October 2017 Tom now lives with Ralph @mysmugcat, and Roscoe, who featured in a series of #KittenAdvice tweets.
