YORKSHIRE CCC SHOW 11TH NOVEMBER 2017 NEIL CARTER My thanks to Lynda and the club for the invite to this lovely show. It has been a while since my last visit and I'm glad I was finally able to say 'yes' to the invite! Thanks also to Linda Sweetman who was my very able steward on what was a busy and varied day. It was heartwarming to see a healthy entry in some sections and, so many kittens present. It fell to me to judge overall BIS and I was thrilled to award it to a super British black, IMP GR CH Chelso Needham Zak. This boy had a superb head and his coat was wonderful. The lineup was particularly strong so well done to all. Olympian Class Any Imperial Grand Champion Adult, Female; Oly to Mlynek & Hayward's IMP GR CH Mylward Heiteki (SBI n). Lovely balanced head with well set ears. Eyes were almost round, expressive and of a good colour. Medium length nose with dip to profile, well developed muzzle and chin, level bite. Well grown medium length body with full balanced tail. The coat was excellent for length texture and preparation with points a warm seal and contrasting with the body colour. Some tonal shading and the tail had a little brindling. Feet were sparkling white and neat. Highly deserving of the award. Res Wilshaw's IMP GR CH Rossikhan Alter Ego (BUR b). A sweet natured girl who appeared in the BIS lineup. She had very good balanced type and expressive chartreuse eyes. Good profile and muzzle lines with firm chin and a level bite. Her body conformation was very good but I felt she needed a little more size given her age, tail was balanced to body length. Her coat was excellent being short and having the required satin like texture. The colour was a warm chocolate and virtually even in tone with the shade slightly darker to the mask and tail. Shown in very good condition. 3. Eames' OB IMP GR CH Abydreames Specsappeal. (ABY a). Pretty female with a very nicely balanced head type, a little unhappy at being handled. Ears a good size, cupped, and set well. Eyes were a good almond shape and had a good depth of colour. The profile was correct and the muzzle rounded and chin firm. Level bite. Solid muscular cat with good length and slender legs. The tail was tapering and of a good length. The coat was a little open with some sparse coverage around her neck area. The colouration was warm with clear ticking for the most part and a mushroom base colour. I liked her type but the coat let her down a little today. Grand Class Birman Premier. Male; GPC Bridge's PR Mlyward Sunshine Boy (SBI e) MN. Eight and a half years old and of good type. His eye colour is fading a little but the eyes are a good size and shape. 'Roman' nose, good muzzle chin and bite. Large cat, good bone and conformation with medium length full tail. Excellent coat for length and texture, a touch curly underneath but well 'finished' otherwise. Clear contrast between points and body, slight tonal shading. Pure white well matched feet. Female; GPC Hobson's PR Twinkletoes Cosmos Delight (SBI b) FN. Nine year old female of lovely balanced type. Good eye shape and the colour is holding well. Medium length nose with dip to profile, well developed muzzle, firm chin and the bite is level if missing a few teeth. Well grown female with balanced full tail. Good coat for texture and length, well shown, with clear contrast between warm chocolate points and ivory white body which was virtually free of shading. The tail was a little brindled. Well matched feet, sparkling white. Not a 'happy camper' but ok to handle. Res Brown's GR CH & PR Dalteema Fantasia (SBI j) FN. Another mature female, nine years and five months. Attractive with very good balanced type and a lovely expression. The eyes were a good shape but a little pale in colour and id have preferred her nose a little shorter for balance.. Rather a rotund lady but muscular with the tail balanced. Well prepared coat of a good length. All points broken and contrasts mostly clear, the body a little shaded. The feet were pure white and well matched.

Imperial Class British Grand Champion, Female; IMP GCC Sutton's GR CH Lekati Shes A Dream (BRI n 03). Excellent British type with a lovely rounded head. Good ear set, eyes large and round and of a good depth of orange. Short broad straight nose, full cheeks and a firm chin. Level bite. Solid cobby cat with sturdy legs and a medium length thick tail, rounded at the tip. The coat was short but a little lacking density with a rather soft texture but the pattern was lovely with pure white and medium to dark shades of blue and cream in clear patches. Some attractive markings to the face although some silver tipping in blue areas. The good points far outweighed any reservations about the coat. Imperial Class Oriental Grand Champion, Female; IMP GCC Lloyd's GR CH Seido Skyfall (OSH n). Stylish flashy girl with a wicked expression. Balanced wedge with large flared and open ears. Oriental eyes of a good size and depth of green. Long slightly uneven profile, good muzzle lines and firm chin. Long lithe muscular cat with dainty legs, oval paws and a long whip tail. Short fine close lying jet black coat with only a couple of stray white hairs. Shown in excellent condition. Black Persian Kitten; 1 BOB Doe's Lafrabella Seamus (PER n), M. Litter brothers these two. This boy has masses of potential and I truly adored his type. Rounded head with neat ears and smooth forehead. Bold eyes, a good size with the colour developing well. Short broad nose with good stop, well developed muzzle and chin. The bite is a little awry with one missing canine at present but its early days so I gave him the benefit of the doubt today. Super bone and conformation with short thick legs and a well furnished tail. The coat was exceptional for a black Persian of this age with super presentation. A soft thick coat of a good length and dense black for the most part. The bite gave caution but otherwise he is spectacular. 2 Poole's Lafrabella Satchmo (PER n), M. Another nice baby, perhaps needing more 'finish' to the grooming and not quite the 'full package' of his litter mate as yet. Very good type and expression. Neat ears with well rounded forehead. The eyes are a fraction small made a little more obvious by his slightly heavy brow but the colour was good. Short nose, good muzzle and chin, near level bite. Cobby body, well grown for his age, with short thick tail. Good coat texture and length, needing more attention to the preparation being a little curly. The coat shows the usual kitten grey and shading with some areas a little 'rusty'. He handled very well. I understand his owners had not shown before so I'm sure they will pick up grooming 'tips'. It is very nice to see new exhibitors at shows and that can only help our hobby long term. Blue Persian Adult; BOB to Priestley's CH Heathrose Moon Over Miami (PER a), F. Very typy girl with a lovely expression and excellent eye colour. Slightly undershot bite. Cobby with good substance and a short thick tail. The coat very good for length and density with super preparation. The colour was a little dark and unsound but perfectly acceptable. Also considered Priestley's GR CH Kranwitters Calipso (IMP) (PER a), F. Typy girl with a strong expression. The eyes were uneven in colour and almond in shape and, I felt her nose leather was rather small. Near level bite. Cobby cat well grown with short thick tail. Coat was good for length and texture, a medium pale blue, slightly unsound and inconsistent in tone. She had the better coat colour but overall the other girl had the best balance of qualities today. Tortoiseshell Persian Adult; BOB to Young's GR CH Levina Freya (PER f). Excellent all round with super type and eye colour. Bite slightly undershot. Very good body shape and weight with the tail short and thick. Well prepared coat of a very good texture and length, the black well broken with vivid shades of red to the extremities. Her face was very attractively marked. Blue or Lilac Tortie and White Persian; BOB to Knight & Cooke's CH Levina Anna (PER g 03). Very good type and balance, a pretty girl with a lovely expression. Good eye colour and acceptable bite. Solid and cobby with thick balanced tail. The coat was full with good preparation in the main. Shows sparkling white and medium cream and blue in an attractive pattern with the face showing sympathetic distribution of the colours. Showed herself well.

Brown, Blue, Chocolate or Lilac Tabby Persian Adult; BOB to Tonks' GR CH Zendique Georgie Porgie (PER n 22), M. Stunning cat with excellent balanced type and vivid eye colour. Good bite. Fabulous bone and body weight with short full tail. Excellent coat texture and length with the wonderful and expert presentation I have come to know over many years of judging this lovely lady's cats. Superb colouration and density to the markings with clear definition in the main and a rich coppery ground colour. Well marked face and extremities and clear spine lines, some diffusion in the oysters but he probably has one of the clearest coat patterns on a brown tabby Persian I have seen in this country. Shown in excellent condition. Blue Point Birman Adult, Female; BOB to Coupland & Brown's CH Brofield Forget-Me-Not (SBI a), F. Good balanced type. China blue eyes of a good size and shape. Level bite. Good body shape and substance with full balanced tail. Very good coat texture and length with clear contrast between medium blue points and cold white body colour. Some tonal shading. The feet were a little untidy but pure white. Handled well. Also considered Gardinor's Ch Kittah Akatad Hebe, (SBI a), F. Nice female and well grown. The eyes were a good colour, the chin needed a little more depth. Substantial body having good conformation. The tail needed a little more furnishing. Good coat and well shown with clear contrasts and only slight body shading. The feet were pure white and generally well matched, suspicion of a detached white spot by the right gauntlet. Red, Cream or Tortie Point Birman Adult; BOB to Brown's Ch Dalteema Miss Grace, (SBI f), F. Good balanced head type and very good eye colour. Good body shape and weight with full balanced tail. Coat a touch shady but a good texture and length, well shown, with points well broken with bright tortie colours. All feet matching and sparkling white. Red, Cream or Tortie Point Neuter, BOB to Johnson's GR PR Kendalian Pendragon Drako (SBI d), MN. Attractive boy all round having expressive eyes of a good blue. Slightly romanesque profile, pretty firm chin and level bite. Excellent bone and body weight with full medium length tail. Very good coat for length, texture and preparation showing clear contrast between rich red points and pale cream body colour. There was a little tonal shading evident;. The feet were pure white, good socks and gauntlets, the gloves were a touch low but matched. Also considered Bridge's PR Mlyward Sunshine Boy, MN. Brown's GR PR Dalteema Cairngorm, (SBI e), MN. Mappin's GR PR Twinkletoes Marigold (SBI d), FN. Brown's GR CH & PR Dalteema Fantasia (SBI j), FN. Male; 1 PC Mappin's Twinkletoes Red Periscaria (SBI d), MN. A boy with an 'honest' expression and fairly good type. Good width between ears that were a good size. Eyes were verging on the 'bold' but were a good blue. Medium length nose with dip to profile, chin a little shallow, level bite. Good body size and conformation with balanced full tail. The coat was very good for length, texture and preparation with a full ruff. Clear contrast between the flame red points and cream body colour. Slight shading to the body, the feet were sparkling and mostly well matched with just the gloves a touch untidy. Sweet boy and he did look better when relaxed in the pen. Tabby or Tortie-Tabby Point Birman Adult; 1 CC BOB Hamilton's Akatad Adora Withtoysharl (SBI a 210, F. Developing girl of good type. Ears well set, eyes almost round and a good colour. Medium length nose with dip to profile, slightly narrow muzzle and the chin needed a little more strength. Level bite. Good size and conformation with medium length well furnished tail. Good coat texture and length with good show preparation. Clear contrast between well marked points and body. The feet were less than ideal with slightly low gloves and mismatched gauntlets. She was a little small and immature but I felt she deserved the CC all things considered. Red, Cream or Tortie Tabby or Tabby & White Maine Coon Adult; 1 CC BOB Julescoon Just One Look (MCO ns 03 22), F. Ten months old and of excellent balanced type. Well developed head with large well set ears with good tufts and furnishings. Oblique set eyes of a good size, slightly straight profile,

full square muzzle, firm chin and level bite. Long muscular body having good substance with sturdy legs, tufted paws and a long full tail. Well prepared coat of a good texture and length with good ruff and breeches. Shows clear pattern, rich colouration and pure white. A little 'testy' but handled well. AC Smoke, Self or Shaded (&White) Maine Coon Adult. Male; 1, CC withheld Hill's Robusto Mr Fandango (MCO a). Sadly I felt this boy was very lacking in type with a triangular head shape and a very straight profile when felt. The eyes appeared deep set and the muzzle needed more fullness. He has a long body but I would expect more bone and substance at his age. Balanced tail. The coat was dark blue and fairly sound but short and in need of more 'finish' to the grooming. I'm afraid there were too many minus points today to merit the CC. Female; 1 CC BOB Thompson's Beatrix Cool Breeds (MCO fs). Good type and expression. Large ears with a very slight flare but well tufted. Oblique set expressive eyes, profile has a concave curve with just a slight 'bump' on the nose. Well developed square muzzle, firm chin and level bite. Well grown long rectangular body, developing well, with sturdy limbs and a long full tail. Coat very good for length texture and preparation with the colouration bright and a clear silver undercoat. All extremities showed the colours with the body attractively marked. Shown in good condition. 2. Dunn & Evans' Spirritz Bee's Knees (MCO f). Just a yer old, of fairly good type with ears a good size and well set. Eyes appeared a little round and bold, the profile showed a slight concave curve, square muzzle, very firm chin. Long rectangular body with good substance and a long tapered tail. The coat was a good length and texture, show prepared, with bright tortie colours well broken throughout. Also considered for BOB Edwards' GR CH Luchsleys Emma Watson (IMP)(MCO g), F. Rather unbalanced female facially with her lack of ruff rather spoiling the 'look'. Colouration was rather dark to the coat. Edwards' CH Darktower Lady Stardust (MCO f 03). Fairly good type and balance with large well furnished ears. Well grown rectangular body with long tail. The coat needed more 'finish' to the grooming and she lacked a ruff. Norwegian Forest Adult; BOB to Brewood's GR CH Noynarock Chloe (NFO gs 09), F. Testy girl who was not happy at all! After an initial failed attempt I did go back and she had calmed down enough for me to assess her. Very nice type with the 'look' just the profile a touch uneven. The body was substantial and had good conformation, the tail was long and well furnished. A very good coat with super presentation and good ruff and breeches. The 'double coat' was in evidence and she was attractively marked. Bi-Coloured British Shorthair Adult. Male 1 CC BOB Busseys' Revonda Alfred The Great, (BRI e 03). Very good British type and expression. Rounded head with neat ears, very good eye shape and colour, short broad straight nose, full cheeks, firm chin. The bite was difficult to assess as he was not having any of it but looked ok. Solid cobby muscular cat with medium length thick tail with a rounded tip. Coat short dense and crisp, pale cream with just the tail showing some staining and stud tail. Shows just about a third pure white to pale cream body colour. White to face, all paws, back and bib. Also considered for BOB Ashton's CH Sheephouse Simply Starlet (BRI c 03). Pretty female with good eye colour but quite rotund with the tail short for the body length. Very good coat texture and length showing about a third white and a generally even toned lilac. Black Silver Spotted British Shorthair Kitten; 1 BOB Smith's Sozo Silver Farrah (BRI ns 24), F. Promising kitten of good type with rounded head, neat ears and eyes of a good shape and colour. Short broad straight nose, cheeks developing, firm chin and level bite. Body a little long and rangy at the moment but the tail balances. Coat short, crisp and developing density. Very good contrast between ground colour and spots with clear pattern and only a little linkage. Very alert kitten and shown in excellent condition. 2. Knapp's Kernmere Silver Moonshine (BRI ns 24), F. Pretty kitten of promising type. Rounded face with with good ear set. Slight bump to her nose but the eyes are a very good shape and colour. Level bite. Developing good bone and body weight with medium length tail. Her coat was a

little soft and verging on the 'fluffy' with a silver ground colour and spots that were a little lacking density. Time will, I'm sure, sort the coat out. AC Colourpointed British Shorthair Adult. Male; 1 CC BOB Skillin's Adpixbr Lutherfrancis Beau (BRI b 33). Fairly good type and balance, still a little immature. Rounded head with well set ears. Round eyes, the colour a little two tone. Short nose, cheeks and chin need more development, level bite. Solid cobby body, well grown, with sturdy legs and rounded paws. Medium length tail, rounded at the tip. Short dense crisp coat showing clear contrast between dark chocolate points and ivory body colour. He was not showing himself well but I felt he deserved the award overall. 2. Simpson's Althalus Bubba Nook (BRI b 33). This boy was not at all happy and very difficult to assess fairly. The eye colour was very pale and the coat felt rather 'sticky' with more attention needed to the grooming. I tried very hard to get him out of the pen but he was very unhappy and was best left but I did handle him. Female; 1 CC Sanders' Mossbelle Snow Maiden (BRI c 33). Attractive girl of good type with a rounded head and good eye colour. Short broad straight nose, full cheeks, slightly weak chin. A smallish female but well grown and the tail was thick and medium in length. Very good coat texture and density with clear contrast between pink toned lilac points and magnolia body colour. The points were well matched with just the tail a shade darker. Snowshoe Neuter; BOB to Jones' IMP GR PR Icegems Ruby (SNO n 05), FN. Lovely type and expression on this female and every inch a Snowshoe! Well set ears and the eyes were walnut shaped, a good size and of a respectable blue. Correct profile, good muzzle lines and a firm chin. Level bite. Well grown body, long and well covered with slender legs and a medium length tail. The coat was very good for length, glossy texture and excellent preparation with the pattern highly attractive and well defined. White sparkled and was present to the face (nice blaze), white mittens and staying within the third allowed. The points were clearly contrasted to the base colour and warm in tone. Some tonal shading to the body. Shown in very good condition. Oriental Black Adult; BOB to Lloyd's GR CH Seido Skyfall. Oriental Classic or Mackerel Tabby Adult; 1 CC BOB Shelton's Lexsam Wordswoth (OSH p 22), M. Good type, stylish and with a well balanced wedge. Large flared ears, open at the base, oriental eyes of a good green, near straight profile, pretty firm chin and level bite. Long lithe body of a good size with elegant neck, long legs and neat oval paws. Long balanced tail. Coat was a little thick but was close lying and well shown. The colouration was a warm pale mushroom overlaid with clear markings to the face, feet and tail. The body markings were subtle if a little diffused but evidence of spine lines and oysters. Clear necklaces and the tail had rings most of the way up the length. Difficult colour to 'get right' but I felt on balance he merited the award. Seal Point Siamese Kitten. Two lovely babies, at very different stages of development and hard to separate for BOB. Male; 1. Cook's Styperson Soopurr Cook (SIA n) M 28/06/17. Highly attractive kitten, stylish and full of promise. Very good type, balanced wedge with large flared and open ears. Oriental eyes of a good blue, slightly uneven profile, pretty good muzzle lines and firm chin. The bite was level. Long lithe kitten of a good size for his age with long legs, oval paws and a long whip tail. Short fine close lying coat showing clear contrast between points that are developing density. His cream body colour was showing some slight tonal shading. The points were generally well matched, some brindling to the tail and shading at the base of the ears. Shown in excellent condition and quite a character. Female; 1 BOB Chandler's Pedipix Prophetess (SIA n), F 13/04/17. Seven months. Very striking female, showing herself with confidence and style. Medium wedge with large ears, flared and open at the base. Oriental eyes of a good size and a pretty good shade of blue needing a touch more depth of colour. Near straight profile, good muzzle and firm chin with the bite level. Long svelte kitten showing very good size and musculature with elegant neck and long dainty legs. The paws were neat

and the tail long and tapering. Short fine close lying coat with a nice gloss to it. Shows good contrast between deep seal points and the cream body colour that had just a little shading throughout. Slight brindling to the mask. My overall feeling was she was the more 'finished' of the two kittens on the day but I have no doubt both will do well in the future. Club Class Siamese Cat Association: AC Siamese Adult; 1. Withers' IMP GR CH Tintally Rafael (SIA m), M 17/10/15. This boy is very striking and shows great style and presence; I loved his expression. Balanced head with large well set ears. Very slight flattening of the forehead above the brow but the profile is long and virtually straight. His eyes are a good size and with the correct set, a deep shade of blue. Good muzzle lines, firm chin and a level bite. Excellent body conformation and size with long fine legs and neat oval paws. The tail is long and tapering. Short close lying coat showing clear contrast between the lilac based caramel points and his off white body colour. Some slight surface shading to the body. The points are well matched with the brownish hue evident, more so to his tail. His mask is extensive with some slight brindling to the tail. He is so elegant and easy to handle. AC Siamese Kitten; 1. Withers' Tintally Bukeela (SIA a), F 22/07/17. Flashy and stylish baby of just under four months. Balanced wedge with very large ears, wide set with just a slight tendency to bonnet them. Eyes most definitely Oriental in expression and of a decent depth of blue, near straight long profile, good muzzle lines, firm chin and level bite. Long lithe kitten with long legs, oval paws and a balanced whip tail. Good coat texture, close lying, with just the length a little longer over the spine. Clear contrast between medium blue points, mainly matched with just the tail a shade darker with faint rings. Some surface shading to the glacial white body colour. Showed herself well and was confident out of the pen.
