Developed with financial assistance from the 1998 Florida Legislature through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, this park opened on January 13, 2001. To further benefit the area's youth, 3 new athletic fields were constructed in 2012 and dedicated on February 6, 2013. Windmill Park Windmill Park 700 Lyons Road Coconut Creek, Florida 33063 About the Park Located on Lyons Road north of Atlantic Boulevard, Windmill Park offers tennis courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, a dog park, and a covered playground. Windmill Park is currently closed for renovations and will reopen in the spring of 2018. 13
Windmill Dog Park was dedicated to the community March, 2005. It was designed to provide recreation for small and large dogs and to enable social interactions among dog owners. The dog park features separate fenced enclosures for large and small dogs with key fob activated entries and double gates. These two areas include play equipment, waste bins, shaded areas, walkways, benches, pavilions, and water fountains. Re- Utilize the holding enclosure to attach and detach leashes. No leashes shall be attached within the dog park. Leashes must be attached upon leaving. Do not allow your dog to dig holes. If they do, please attempt to fill them. Clean up after your dog. Dogs must be within voice range and under owner s control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the restrooms. No more than 3 dogs per person. No food. No smoking. Be sure to become acquainted with park rules and procedures. If you are unsure of something, please ask the park staff for assistance. 14
The dog park is for members only. Those without proper ID will not be allowed in. Those caught letting people without IDs into the dog park may be subject to having their membership(s) revoked. Dogs must be at least 4 months old. Dogs must be in the properly designated areas. The owner/guardian must not and cannot leave the park without their dogs. Professional dog walkers, trainers and groomers shall not use the park to conduct business. Dogs must have valid tags. Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior shall be removed immediately. Name, phone number, and proof of vaccination shall be given to injured parties before leaving the park if their dog inflicts an injury. Dog owners are solely liable for injuries or damage caused by their dog. Female dogs in heat are prohibited. Small dog enclosure is for dogs weighing 30 lbs or less. Large dog enclosure is for dogs weighing more than 30 lbs. 15

Winston Park Winston Park 700 Lyons Road Coconut Creek, Florida 33063 About the Park The Winston Park Nature Trail winds through native trees and plants. The trail shows how Coconut Creek looked before development. The 1,005 foot long boardwalk winds through cypress trees and over ground covered with giant ferns, smaller wood ferns and other plant life.
