THE MAINE COON CAT CLUB SHOW 27.06.09 SHOW REPORT MARY KALAL A very happy show with a friendly atmosphere and I thoroughly enjoyed myself with some lovely cats and kittens to judge; many thanks to Daphne Butters, David Howe and the Club for the kind invitation and warm hospitality and many thanks also to Stephen Bunce for kindly stewarding for me on a busy but happy day; Stephen handled the cats gently and firmly and showed them to their advantage and was very good company and I look forward to the next time. BROWN/BLUE TABBY (inc. BI-COLOUR) PREMIER MALE: 1 and GR PR to FLEMING GR PR COONTASTIC DANCING BRAVE (64.31t) 27.10.05. A handsome cat most beautifully prepared, he sparkled, showing a warm brown tabby pattern patched with pristine white; long heavy body, strong legs with large tufted paws and long profuse tail; ears large, tufted, furnished and high set, balanced head, muzzle could be broader for perfection, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and green colour, dark rimmed. Excellent coat double and with a full ruff and breeches, brown tabby pattern patched with a white chin, bib, under-parts and legs; excellent condition and presentation. RESERVE to ALLEN GR PR DOTCOM SAMPSON (64.31t) 30.1.05. Another big strong cat with a charming temperament, long firm well muscled body, legs and large tufted paws in proportion, tail long and profuse; ears large, well tufted, furnished and high set, medium length head, slight curve to profile, high cheeks, good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and hazel colour, dark rimmed. Coat double and silky with a full ruff and breeches, warm brown classic tabby pattern patched with pristine white on his chin, bib, under-parts and all four feet; excellent condition and beautifully presented. BROWN/BLUE TABBY WITH WHITE ADULT MALE: ATKINSON UK & GR CH VELVET JEWELS CULLINAN (64.31t) 17.12.3. A big strong cat showing excellent weight and boning, I had him for BOB only which I awarded to the very pretty female, but I did admire him so much and later on gave him first prize in the Squarest Muzzle class, which he certainly had. Long firm well muscled body, legs and large tufted paws in proportion, tail long and quite profuse; ears large, tufted furnished and well set, head of medium length with a slight curve and small bump to profile, broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite. Coat silky and double with a very good ruff and breeches, clear classic tabby pattern patched with white with a small patch on his nose, white chin, shirtfront, under-parts and on all four legs; excellent condition and presentation. BROWN/BLUE TABBY WITH WHITE ADULT FEMALE: 1 CC and BOB to WHITMARSH MABALAKAT HELPME RHONDDA (64.41w) 29.6.08. A beautiful female, beautifully prepared who just sparkled; large tufted ears of excellent high set, balanced head, curve to broad nose, good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and hazel colour, dark rimmed. Silky coat, double and with a full ruff and breeches, showing a warm brown classic tabby pattern
patched with brilliant white, balanced inverted V on her face, white bib, under-parts and all four white feet; excellent condition and most beautifully presented. 2 to DAVIDSON JULESCOON PHOEBE (64.41w) 4.11.07. A very pretty female also of very good type and balance; long firm well muscled body, strong legs with large tufted paws and long profuse tail; large ears tufted, furnished and of excellent high set, balanced head with a curve to profile, good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set dark rimmed and hazel colour with an excellent expression. Silky coat, beautifully prepared and showing classic tabby patched with brilliant white on chin, bib and all four feet; excellent condition and presentation. 3 to CHAMBERS HUGMETIGHT PEEKABOO (64.41w) 6.8.08. A very pretty young female of good type and balance with a long firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and profuse; ears large, tufted and high set, balanced head with a curve to profile, muzzle quite broad, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set, and vivid green colour, dark rimmed. Coat silky and well developed for her age with a rich warm brown classic tabby pattern, white chin, bib and feet; excellent condition and well presented. 4 to CARDEN SHEERCLASS MOONSHINE MISSY (64.41w) 12.9.08. AOC WITHOUT WHITE ADULT, MALE: 1 CC and BOB to EDWARDS DARKTOWER INDIGO (64.16) 25.6.08. An impressive male with an excellent temperament; strong and well boned with a long well muscled body, strong legs and large tufted paws and long profuse tail; large ears tufted, furnished and well set, balanced head longer than wide with full cheeks, a broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes oblique set and green colour with an excellent expression. Coat well developed and double with a full ruff and breeches, dark blue colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented. 2 to MASKELL JEMAHAN MAGICAL MERCURY (64.43fs) 10.04.08. A young male developing well with a long firm well muscled body, long legs with large tufted paws and long plumy tail; ears quite large, tufted, furnished and well set, head longer than wide with a curve to profile, muzzle quite broad, good chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and hazel colour. Silky coat developing well with a good ruff and breeches, soft cream silver shaded pattern, some knots in his under-parts at present which spoilt his presentation. 3 to LETTLEY SUVICOON SUNSET DANCER (64.43ds) 7.5.08. A young male still developing and a little immature; firm body, long legs with tufted paws and long plumy tail; ears large, tufted, furnished and rather wide set, medium length head, muzzle a little narrow but has good depth, good chin and level bite. Coat developing well but ruff a little short at present, soft texture and showing a red silver shaded pattern, well presented. 4 to JOINER DK COZYCOONS LAST BOY SCOUT (64.14b) 9.12.07. AOC WITHOUT WHITE ADULT, FEMALE: CC not awarded.
1 to SWINBURN WISCASSET RUBY TUESDAY (64.15d) 19.6.08. A sweet natured female with a long firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail long tapered and fairly profuse; ears large, tufted and well set, head a little short and muzzle rather rounded and lacking width, good chin and level bite; eyes oblique set and amber colour. Coat silky and developing but lacking ruff at present, red colour showing some tabby pattern over her body; excellent condition and well presented. 2 to ATKINSON KATMEA FELICITY CHIJWELL (64.15) 10.07.08. Another young female with a firm lithe body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail long tapered and profuse; ears large, tufted but slightly wide set, head a little short, muzzle rounded, good chin but bite a little overshot; eyes oblique set and green colour. Coat silky and dense black with a very good ruff and breeches; excellent condition and well presented. SILVER TABBY SERIES WITHOUT WHITE NEUTER FEMALE: BOB to RICHARDSON/HARLING PR JACKSONTAILS TITCHITOT (64.18e) 5.5.06. A mature female with a firm well muscled body, strong legs with tufted paws and long tapered and plume-like tail to balance; large ears tufted, furnished and of excellent high set, head slightly longer than wide with a concave curve to profile, good broad muzzle, firm chin, bite meets; oblique set eyes, dark rimmed and hazel colour. Silky coat developing well with a very good ruff and breeches, not a lot of silver showing in her base-coat on her head and shoulders, well patched in black and shades of red; excellent condition and well presented. AC LIMIT ADULT: 1 to SMITH COLORDALE HARLEY (64.41) 13.9.07. A big solid male with a handsome face and lovely expression; long firm well muscled body, strong legs with tufted paws and long profuse tail; large ears tufted, furnished and well set, balanced head, longer than wide, curve to profile, full cheeks, broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and hazel colour, dark rimmed. Coat silky and well developed with a full ruff and breeches showing a classic tabby pattern; excellent condition and well presented. AC KITTEN MALE (A)(6 8 months inc.): 1 to DAVIDSON LIONMAINE BEARFACE BRIAN (64.41sw) 28.10.08. An impressive young cat of very good type and balance with a long firm well muscled body, strong legs with large tufted paws and long profuse tail; large ears tufted, furnished and of excellent high set, balanced head with a good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and golden colour. Excellent silky coat, double and full in the ruff and breeches, black silver tabby with definite patches of dark cream and pristine white; excellent condition and beautifully presented. 2 to PASSEY CELTICOON CHARLIE BROWN (64.41w) 30.11.08. Another big strong male with a long firm body, strong legs with large tufted paws and long profuse tail; large ears, tufted, furnished and high set, balanced head longer than wide, curve to profile, full cheeks, good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and hazel colour, dark rimmed. A big strong male with a firm muscular body, long legs with large tufted paws and long profuse tail; ears large, tufted, furnished and well set, balanced head, broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes could be larger for perfection but oblique set and golden colour with an excellent expression. Silky coat, well developed and beautifully presented, ruff developing, full breeches, excellent rich red colouring patched with pristine white; excellent condition and presentation. 2 to TURNER CAROLMAINE GENERAL LEE (64.41dw) 18.11.08. A young male with a firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail balanced and profuse; large tufted ears, head a little short, concave curve to profile, broad muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes golden colour and also could be larger for perfection. Silky coat, red patched with white, lacking ruff at present; excellent condition and well presented. 3 to ATKINSON KATMEA BASIL (64.31s) 5.12.08. A big solid cat with a heavy body, strong legs and tufted paws and long profuse tail; ears large and tufted, balanced head with a good broad muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and green colour. Silky coat with a good ruff and breeches; excellent condition and well presented. 2 to JONES GR PR KADACOON GIZMO (64.43dsw) 25.10.06. Another big cat with a full double coat with a red silver shaded pattern patched with white; ears quite large, set slightly wide, broad head with a broad muzzle, firm chin, bite undershot; eyes large, well set and green colour. A pretty female, well boned and balanced and showing a lovely rich brown tabby double coat; firm body with legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail balanced and profuse; ears large, tufted and high set, balanced head, profile almost straight with a very slight curve, muzzle broad, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and green colour with an excellent expression.
